I could have just skipped to the happy ending but drawing Shadow Luigi in action poses with an axe is way too fun and i want him to land a hit on Bowser.

Gotta love how this started with a little What if idea (that wasn't even mine) and i just ran a whole adventure with it lol

Was your bowuigi detective au inspired, or at least a little bit inspired by that one detective Luigi animation? Regardless if it is or not, let me tell you that I have been waiting forever for someone to make a bowuigi detective au ever since I saw that animation.

OMG Haha okay funny story.

First of all, yes I do know what animation you are referring to!! And I have watched it!

This idea was not based off that though!

I had the thought in my head for a couple of months sometime last year but didn't really do anything with it.

And then I started watching the Spider-Noir series and saw that Minions and Monsters clip where they do silent detective noir films. And I just went "huh. Now that's an idea. Noir detective Super Mario au?" Plus they did one with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and I loved it!

So I revisited the detective stuff but THENNN I just kind of fell back into the Zootopia rabbit hole (because I fucking looooveeee that movie and the second one)! And I love the dynamic that Judy and Nick have and I wanted to mimic that somehow w Bowser and Luigi because man... when you're in deep you find a way to make everything about your favorite character and/or ship.

So, I think my au is a little more inspired by that?

Anyways, I'm happy you like the idea and that I could deliver!! I will definitely be doing more with this and my diner au haha

Actually now that I mention it I might add a spin to the detective au and do some kind of noir style thing because it still sounds soooo fun.

diner au bowuigi vs detective au bowuigi is sooo funny to me bc... the diner au is basically all fluff and some spice. but the detective au is like coworkers to friends to lovers where bowser is cocky and just an ass, and all luigi is trying to do is find his brother and deal with this annoying, charming, turtle dragon at the same time, and is one snarky remark away from just crashing out.
