You always reflect back on your low points in life. You feel embarrassed about them. Those are decisions you made. But once you reflect, you accept them, and use them as the stepping stones on the road to your high points.  It’s a horrible feeling knowing your past, that you’ve reconciled with, is your own road block. Maybe it isn’t you that is haunted by those decisions, but others may be. Others may not have let go.. forgiven you. And that hurts your progress. To look back at who I was 3, 2 even a year ago, is a completely different person. I sacrifice a lot, give a lot, expect little, and yet the progress and growth I’ve made through the past years are completely over looked because of my low points in my past.  I accept all of who I was, all of who I am, and all of who I will be. I’m amazing. Low points and all.

forgive yourself for being dumb or naive or blindly optimistic. forgive yourself for making mistakes when you didn’t know any better. self forgiveness is far more important than forgiving the folks who took advantage of your naivete.
