This morning I walked out to my car, ready to head to work. When I rounded the corner, however, I saw that my car was included in a pile of cars that were crushed by somebody who lost control driving way too quickly around the corner.

When I called the police, i was told that the accident happened around 2:45 this morning. The van that caused the accident was towed away before I’d gotten there but the driver was nowhere to be found. When the police contacted the owner of the van, they were told that the van had been stolen. With this being the case, the insurance process will be complicated and likely shouldered by my own insurance. Unfortunately I have a $1000 deductible and as of right now I don’t know whether or not the car is totaled or repairable. The insurance company is towing it to the shop to look it over tomorrow.

I work 45 minutes from my home so my car is vital to my job.

I rented a car today, however it cost me about $500 with insurance for the week since I am under 25. This is just about how much I make in a week at my job so I’m basically just breaking even by going to work and rent is due in a couple of days.

Honestly anything would help. I’m trying to keep a calm head about me right now but I honestly don’t know how I’m going to shoulder this.
