Like I know that this is pretty funny, and also 7 years past, but I can’t stop thinking about how T must’ve felt, in over his head, just trying to make it on a team whose culture he somehow couldn’t fit the bill for no matter what he did. Trying to play the best hockey he could and still be happy, and when he understandably acted like the 18-year-old he was, management responded with an iron fist, restrictions, and mandatory detailed agendas. He was clearly just trying to cope with all the pressure forced on him, and then…this? Getting publicly ridiculed for a mistake when you’re already just trying to swim and not sink. Can you imagine being as intolerant and unsupportive as that management? Can’t relate.

this is…. the most ridiculous reply to something and I’m not even sure I want to get involved but like. Really? You want to call the bruins out for being intolerant and unsupportive when stuff like this is actually very very common in the NHL. Not only that But this was Tyler Seguins’ 26th NHL game and he was a repeat offender. The screen shot says missed breakfast but he actually missed more than that. Claude Julien had this to say about the decision, “When it’s the first time, you give guys a break. But it’s happened more than a few times. At one point, he’s got to hold himself responsible. We felt he could have easily done that. Hopefully it’s a learning thing. He’s a good player and a good individual. He’s going to bounce back and play for us next game.’’ Yeah okay, that’s a guy ruling with an iron fist. “restrictions and mandatory detailed agendas” dude that’s literally what playing in the NHL is. These guys have 4 days a month where they are allowed to do wha they want. but every other day they have a strict schedule that they must follow with practices, team meetings, skates, and games. Tyler was a rookie and getting used to it and the bruins were saying, very gently I might add, “hey, when you do this you face consequences.” and then getting publicly ridiculed?? He was the bruins rookie and he wasn’t playing in a game, NESN wasn’t just going to act like Seguin wasn’t there?? The “ridicule” which is arguably not even about seguin and maybe even more about the bruins (phrased, how could you sit a guy like that, dummies) was caused by twitter and had literally nothing to do with management.

Chiarelli was a bad GM but it was NOT specific to Tyler Seguin. The excuse the seguin family gave for Tyler partying all the time, the rest of the team had wives and families. I’m not joking. Yes Tyler was probably lonely on the bruins after a few years, but he was lonely because his friends were good fathers and husbands. He could have gone out with the guys whenever he wnated but he decided it was more important to party than to have quiet night. Which is fine, that’s his deal. But acting like the bruins just fucked him over, that they were so unkind and uncaring to him is literally something tumblr made up so they could ship him with Jamie Benn. Learn something before you turn real life into a fanfic. the bruins loved tyler, as a person and as a player, he was part of Brad Marchand’s family, David Krejci fawned over him every second of the day, Zdeno Chara literally almost tore a man apart for looking at Tyler wrong. I’m sure Tyler felt like shit there and again, Chia was just a BAD GM and i hate him lol, but they didn’t do it because they wanted to ridicule him, and they didn’t do it because they hate tyler specifically. they loved him and wanted to watch him succeed and, sometimes that means sitting him out when he repeatedly misses team meetings in the span of 25 games.
