Also! Also! I got some to say about Amanda the Adventurer! Okay!!!! And the story looks great! Don’t get me wrong! Good horror build up whatever.

BUT YOU CAN RUN A VHS ON COMPUTER LIKE A VIDEO GAME!

When I watched a play through and saw them put in the VHS I thought. “Oh cool, they are watching a haunted tape.” NOPE! They move a mouse!!!

And my brain throws an error. Idk why but like it bugs me??? VHS doesn’t work like that.l buddy. Developers I need answers.

I feel as if the reason why we can type stuff in and move a mouse in the games is because we are the ones controlling Riley (the protagonist). So everything we type in is what Riley says as an answer, and everything we click on is something Riley points at and/or touches. It makes more sense that way.

Curli is right, I think your over complicating it. In the Ata 3 Demo we see this clearly (won’t get into any spoilers though so that’s all I’ll say)

It’s simply a stylistic choice, what your typing is just what Riley is saying, there’s other moments where you don’t even type anything at all when Amanda asks a question, yet she still reacts implying that Riley says something that we simply just- don’t hear.

The curser looks like that to fit with the cartoony style, it needs to be visible to some degree so they just made it a mouse curser with a face as a stylistic choice.

And It’s not any of those computer discs because Amanda the Adventurer is a 90’s TV show and Hameln by extent is a production and entertainment company.

Besides we need to look at the larger motives here. Not everyone uses those computer discs and what not, let alone young children. Hameln is clearly targeting young children (probably because they’re the easiest to manipulate and lure) and a TV show is the easiest way to do that.

Maybe the choice of VHS tapes was because the game might’ve been inspired by The Ring, which uses tapes? Although, you’re right, it would’ve also been cool if it was like this!

It can be inspired by the ring without using a vhs. I can def see the inspiration. A cursed child trapped in a digital device, trying to escape, and used and abused by adults with unusual powers. It’s all there….

Just use something accurate? Idk. I can’t get behind it because it felt like they tried for realism everywhere! But not there?
