âiâ iâm not a stalker.â
okay, or so he tried to convince himself that he wasnât. this wasnât supposed to turn out like this; luke played out this scenario countless times in his head. it was supposed to be natural. it wasnât as if he purposefully ended up watching ivy for more than two weeksâŠ. it merely started out as a coincidenceâŠa coincidence that started off as a mere peek into her room and somehow transformed itself into slight voyeurism. out of pure intentions, of course.
he had it all planned out that he was simply going to compliment her, maybe ask for a few pointers and that would be it. but somehow, the male failed to gather the courage and the first time somehow turned into the third time, or maybe it was the fifth time nowâŠ. whatever number it was, luke was intrigued. it was just something about the way her body moved, or maybe the dedication that was placed behind every single step that intrigued him. who wouldnât want to learn a new dance move or two from a pretty girl? not to say that she was only pretty but, it was definitely a bonus point.Â
âi didnât mean to scare you i just wanted to.., watch? learn?â picking up on her hint, he spoke english as he dared to take a step into the room. âwhere are you from? i havenât seen you around here that often, have you been dancing here for a while?â it was possible he was the new one to the studio, but maybe this was just a nice coincidence. it wouldnât hurt to make a few friends here and there, right? âiâm luke or⊠minho, whichever you prefer. i really just wanted to tell you that youâre a pretty amazing dancer⊠sorry if iâm bothering you or whatever.â
with the initial shock wearing off, ivy relaxed, shoulders dropping, lips curving into an amused smile, canines visible as she leaned back onto the palms of her hands, giving the intruder a curious quirk of her head. "that's what all stalkers say," she teased, laughter following the subtle accusation coated in jokes and mischief. she continued to use english, seeing as how the stranger seemed to know it as well, though his accent was different from hers, a distinct american accent. despite herself, it made her feel more comfortable around him, even when she'd just caught him peering into the practice room without making himself known.
though she supposed that was just one of her charms, a trait she deemed positive though others have told her it would get her into trouble one day. she was too trusting, too eager to befriend strangers, make small talk with those around her (though talk could hardly be considered small when it came to her, a teenager without a filter). "it's nice to meet you, luke," she said with a nod of her head, and another one, a subtle bob to invite him in, take a seat. "i'm ivy."
she pushed off the floor, allowed her body to straighten as her hands once again found the water bottle she'd previously put off to the side, taking the cap off again to take another swig. his question confused her and her eyebrows furrowed to demonstrate, light laughter following. "i'm from australia," she answered, statement tapering into an upward intonation as if she were the one asking him if she were actually from there. "sydney. i just moved at the start of the year, so i've only been attending lessons here for a few months. and you weren't bothering me; i was just startled is all."
