WHAT THE FUCK MARY? Seriously?
This isn’t surprising at all, she treated Phoebe, Joe and Jim so badly after Freddie died. Phoebe said the whole atmosphere changed in the house as she installed cameras and new locks on Garden Lodge only a few months after Freddie’s death. All 3 of them had to officially leave the house by March 1, 1992. This is a date she set up for them even though Freddie said they are welcome to stay in Garden Lodge for as long as they need.
And let’s not forget this quote by Mary Austin which shows that she’s only ever been concerned about herself:
“If he [Freddie] hadn’t been such a decent human being and told me [that he suffers from Aids] I wouldn’t be here,’ she says candidly. ‘If he had gone along living a bisexual life without telling me, I would have contracted Aids and died.”
Lil Nas X – “MONTERO” & Freddie Mercury – “Made in Heaven”
[ID: six gifs comparing moments in freddie mercury’s “made in heaven” video to lil nas x’s “montero.”
the first shows lil nas x wearing underwear and long red braids, twirling around a pole as he descends downwards. freddie mercury, in a black leather and red outfit, leaps off a large rock over a crowd of people dressed in red, his bright red cape catching the light as he falls.
the second shows freddie and lil nas, both looking into the camera and singing. they’re wearing the same outfits as before, only now lil nas x’s silver necklaces, curled edges, and tattooed skin are easier to see.
the third shows lil nas placing satan’s black horn headband on his head with both hands. as he does so, he sings “ooh” and his eyes glow red. black wings sprout out from behind him. freddie mercury sings victoriously, holding onto the edges of his billowing cape as he seizes it once to his chest before raising his hands defiantly, the red cape rising again. /end ID]
*cough gay cough*
*cue vine voice* Oh my god, they were roommates...
Cary grant and Randolph Scott lived together for 11 years in their mansion entitled the bachelor pad there are press pictures of the two of them living in a completely wonderfully domestic setting
When Cary grant has to marry as to stop the rumours of their gayness he became very depressed, him and his wife divorced 13 months later
Putting more pictures here because yes
Also they reason said wife divorced Cary is bc Randolph “refused to leave” their home and Cary wouldn’t kick him out.
I’d seen some of these pub stills before but not all of them, imagine middle America looking at this and thinking they were just bachelors sharing a house holy fuck

Sectarianism, fed by fanaticism, is always castrating. Radicalization, nourished by a critical spirit, is always creative. Sectarianism mythicizes and thereby alienates; radicalization criticizes and thereby liberates.
Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, 1993.
I am arguing for politics and epistemologies of location, positioning, and situating, where partiality and not universality is the condition of being heard to make rational knowledge claims. These are claims on people´s lives. I am arguing for the view from a body, always a complex, contradictory, structuring, and structured body, versus the view from above, from nowhere, from simplicity. Only the god-trick is forbidden. Here is a criterion for deciding the science question in militarism, that dream science/technology of perfect language, perfect communication, final order.
Donna Haraway, Situated Knowledge, 1988
Gender is a field of structured and structuring difference, where the tones of extreme localization, of the intimately personal and individualized body, vibrate in the same field with global high-tension emissions. Feminist embodiment, then, is not about fixed location in a reified body, female or otherwise, but about nodes in fields, inflections in orientations, and responsibility for difference in material-semiotic fields of meaning. Embodiment is significant prosthesis; objectivity cannot be about fixed vision when what counts as an object is precisely what world history turns out to be about.
Donna Haraway, Situated Knowledge, 1988.
Feminist research has shown how women workers are concentrated into a few occupational areas (women’s work) in low-paid, low-status and non-supervisory jobs. Feminists have also drawn attention to the fact that discussions of worklife (…) always assume that it is possible to understand economic activity in abstraction from domestic life.
The Disorder of Women, Carole Pateman, 1989.
