That's an idea I had a while ago.
If you have Insta, you might have seen how Sascha took care of Isi when she was hungover.
Now I'll turn the tables.
The plot here takes place after clip no. 35 "Be honest!".
By the way, I alternate with Isi's pronouns here too; it somehow doesn't feel right to use only he/him, just because Isi hasn't quite found herself yet at this point.
I hope you like it a bit.
Sascha had spent the weekend doing woodwork so as not to have to think about Isi (which really wasn't easy, considering they are neighbours).
It had worked quite well in parts, but every time Sascha had walked past her door, he had felt a twinge in his chest.
Sometimes Sascha had then stood outside Isi's door for a minute or more, toying with the idea of knocking, of finally telling Isi how he felt about her, but he hadn't, of course. As hard as it was, Sascha really wanted to stop being treated like dirt. And that was now the consequence that not only Isi, but also Sascha had to endure.
It is simply unbelievably hard when Sascha has to forbid his heart exactly what he so hellishly longed for.
It was almost seven when Sascha finally found the strength to stand up. He groaned in pain. His head hurt like hell. As he sat up tiredly, he yawned loudly. He had to cough once. His throat scratched uncomfortably and hurt. When he swallowed, he got a slight pain. And his whole body was shaking, even though he hadn't even opened the window.
His nose tickled unpleasantly, then he had to sneeze softly.
Sascha wanted to bang his head against the wall. He had really hoped not to get sick this winter.
Well, too soon, he thought in his mind.
Of course, he could still go to work now, but Sascha didn't want to risk it. He would end up infecting someone at work and that was the last thing he wanted.
Tired, he reached for his mobile phone and opened WhatsApp. His mum had written to him twenty minutes ago.
Better put on something warm, it's cold. 🥶 I'm going shopping after work. Do you need anything?
Could you maybe go to the pharmacy? I need some throat lozenges.
While Sascha waited for an answer, he quickly called the company to call in sick for the day. Then he looked up Isi's number. Sascha hesitantly stared at the number. It took him half a minute before he dared to call.
He exhaled softly and stared at his room door while he waited, heart pounding, for Isi to answer the mobile. Impatiently, he drummed his fingers on his knee.
When the beeping stopped and he could hear a soft rustling, his heart stopped for a few seconds. "Morning." Isi sounded a little puzzled. Sascha cleared his throat nervously. "Morning." He bit his lips. "Is everything okay?" Uncertain, Sascha scratched the back of his neck. "Uh, don't really know ..." Another sneeze came. "Bless you." Sascha sniffled once softly. "Thanks." "Are you ill?" echoed Isi. "Mhm. That's why I'm calling," Sascha said. "I'm going to call the doctor right now so I can do a test. Just to be sure." "Okay, all right." replied Isi. "Call me when you get the results." "Will do." "I'll call the school right now and sign out for the day. Do you want me to come by later and bring you anything? Do you need anything?" Sascha almost dared to smile just a tiny bit. He felt his cheeks grow warm. But then he pulled himself together. "No, thanks. It's all right." "Are you sure? I can help you-" "Isi," Sascha interrupted quietly. "You don't have to, okay? I'm not going to die," Sascha assured her. At first Isi didn't answer. Sascha could only hear a sigh. "Okay.", Isi then replied. They didn't sound that satisfied. But Sascha couldn't think about that now. He rose from the bed and reached for the clothes still lying on his chair. "I'll go and change now." "Okay."
Again there was an uncomfortable silence. Sascha threw the clothes on the bed, then stared out the window. It was still pitch black.
God. Again Sascha's heart stopped for a few seconds. His thoughts were interrupted again by Isi's voice. "Mm?" Isi cleared her throat nervously. "I ..- um, well ... what I actually want to say ..." It was almost cute when Isi was awkward. Then he sighed. "Get well soon."
Sascha's heart warmed. Then he dared to smile a little after all. "Thank you, Isi." "Promise me you'll let me know if you need anything."
Something wanted to stop Sascha from doing that. But then again ...
Sascha sighed softly. "Okay." On the other hand, Sascha just couldn't refuse.
It was just incredibly difficult for him.
"Good.", Isi replied with satisfaction. "Go on. Go on to the doctor, I don't want to keep you any longer." Sascha couldn't help but laugh softly. But then he had to cough again. "See you, Isi." "See you."
Sascha was lucky that the test was negative. He really hadn't felt like being in quarantine. He could really be glad that it was just a classic cold. And although it was only a simple cold, Sascha felt quite drained. His throat hurt terribly, the throat tablets only helped to some extent. He often got headaches, and when his nose was closed and he wanted to get some air through his window, it didn't take long for his nose to start running again. The cough, on the other hand, was the least of his problems. Fortunately, drinking lots of tea helped him.
A ringing woke Sascha. Tired and confused, he opened his eyes as his brain realised that the doorbell had rung.
Grumbling, he turned to the other side. The doorbell rang again. Sascha groaned softly, then reluctantly rose from the bed. He put on his slippers and threw his yellow woollen blanket around his shoulders. He had to cough softly twice as he left his room to open the door.
Surprised, Sascha's eyes widened when he saw Isi. He was holding a thermos in his hands. Isi dared to smile slightly. "Hey." Sascha didn't quite know what to say. He sniffled softly. "Hi."
Well, that was better than nothing, right? Sascha stepped aside so Isi could enter. When they entered the hallway, Sascha closed the flat door.
Isi silently looked at the boy. He really was a bit worn out. "How are you?" she finally asked. Sascha cleared his throat and sighed. "Could be better," he said and shrugged his shoulders. His gaze fell on the thermos. "What you got there?" Isi said nothing. She smiled calmly and held the thermos out to Sascha. "Take care, it's still hot." So that Sascha didn't burn his hands, he embraced the flask with the blanket. Slowly he trotted into the kitchen and Isi followed him.
In the kitchen, Sascha then sat down on a chair. Isi opened one of the shelves and the cutlery drawer. He fetched a bowl and one of the spoons and put them on the table for Sascha. Then Isi sat down opposite the boy. She smiled at Sascha. "Open it," she said, pointing to the thermos.
Instead of questioning, Sascha opened the lid. When he put the lid aside and dared to sniff the steaming pot, a familiar scent crept into his nose. He closed his eyes and inhaled the smell deeply. He smiled cautiously and opened his eyes. Isi grinned slightly. "Lilac berry soup.", Sascha stated. Isi nodded proudly. Sascha smiled in surprise. "You remember?"
As a child, when Sascha was in bed with a fat cold, his mum had always made him lilac berry soup. The soup had really helped Sascha. Sascha couldn't remember the last time he had eaten this soup.
Again Isi nodded in confirmation. They grinned proudly. "Haven't forgotten." She pushed the bowl over to Sascha.
Sascha dared to smile a little more as he tipped a little of the dark lime liquid into the bowl. "That one looks good," Sascha admitted. "Did you make this all by yourself?" Then he set the thermos straight again and placed it more in the centre of the table. Isi reached for the lid and closed it. He nodded in confirmation. "I really thought of everything this time too. I checked five times to make sure I really had everything," he replied with a grin. Sascha smirked slightly. "You didn't forget the pears either?", Sascha checked and looked at Isi with a smile. Isi grinned with satisfaction. "They're in there too."
Then Sascha reached for the spoon. He blew a few times, then guided the spoon towards the corner of his mouth.
And, God, Sascha felt like he was in heaven. He closed his eyes and smiled. The lilac berry soup really tasted extremely good. Almost even better than when Sascha was a child. Then he dutifully took another spoonful from the bowl. Isi smiled contentedly. "Your reaction tells me it's good," they noted. Sascha took another spoonful of the soup with relish. "Mmm." He sighed contentedly. "It's perfect, Isi." Sascha stirred the spoon slowly in the bowl. He looked at Isi with a shy smile. "Thank you."
Isi smiled quietly. "You're welcome."
It honestly surprised Sascha a bit how Isi was really going out of her way to take care of him right now. Not that it bothered him or anything, but he was just amazed. Isi had cooked him soup, she had brought Sascha a wet cloth to put on his forehead (he didn't have a fever, but sometimes the headache really wasn't pleasant), he had turned on the heating every now and then, then opened the window in between so that Sascha could get some fresh air in peace. They had fetched two more pillows from the living room so that Sascha was comfortable in his bed, he had fetched another small, thin blanket so that Sascha was really not too cold and Isi made Sascha some tea every now and then so that Sascha's sore throat was not quite so bad.
To be honest, Sascha liked that. He liked the way Isi took care of him. It was almost cute how Isi did everything to make Sascha feel comfortable. It was almost cute how Isi stayed with Sascha all afternoon just so he wouldn't be alone.
When it was almost twenty o'clock, Sascha's tiredness won out.
Sascha yawned half-heartedly. Isi grinned slightly and patted the boy on the shoulder. "Come on, finish your tea," he said. "Time for bed." "Isi, it's only twenty o'clock.", Sascha said and sighed. Isi shook her head stubbornly and pushed the teacup towards Sascha. "Drink up."
Instead of arguing, Sascha took the cup and dutifully drank the tea. Isi smiled in satisfaction. "Good boy." he said and rose from his chair. He stood in front of Sascha, who was still squatting in his chair. Gently, Isi tousled Sascha's dark curls.
Not for the first time; Isi always tousled through Sascha's hair as soon as Sascha had finished his tea. This secretly did not bother Sascha at all. He liked it. Then Isi put the yellow woollen blanket around the boy's shoulders, then Sascha also rose from the chair. He coughed softly. His cough had become a little less now. He closed his eyes tiredly and snorted through his nose.
Isi's heart warmed at the sight. Without giving it much thought, Isi ran her hand through Sascha's hair. "Come here." he said quietly. Sascha did not open his eyes. He sighed wearily and leaned his head against Isi's shoulder. Carefully, Isi pulled Sascha a little towards him and pressed his nose into Sascha's hair. He smelled good.
Then the two of them finally went to Sascha's room. Without discussing it, Sascha lay down in bed and crawled under his blanket. Isi covered the boy with the woollen blanket and sat on the edge of the bed. Tired, Sascha leaned against the pillows and closed his eyes. A small smile crept onto Isi's lips. It was kind of cute when Sascha was tired.
"Are you feeling a little better now?" inquired Isi. Sascha opened his eyes and looked at the black-haired man. He dared to smile a little. Then he nodded in confirmation. "Yep. Much better." he answered honestly. "Thanks." Isi didn't reply. He looked at Sascha with a small smile. He bit his tongue nervously. Then they shyly reached for Sascha's hand.
And then it remained quiet. Silently they looked into each other's eyes.
Isi wanted to say something, but somehow she didn't quite know what she wanted to say. She felt a bit awkward. Instead of saying anything, they cleared their throat and lowered their eyes. "I'd better get back upstairs," he said. He didn't want to leave, but he didn't know how to explain to Sascha that she wanted to stay with him. Reluctantly, Isi let go of Sascha's hand and looked at the boy sheepishly and somewhat haphazardly. Sascha did not smile. He looked somehow ... disappointed, if Isi could interpret his expression correctly. Then Isi rose from the edge of the bed and walked towards the door. His heart was beating wildly and his cheeks had gained warmth.
They were about to open the door to the room, but then they could hear Sascha getting up. "Isi, wait."
Heart pounding, Isi turned to face Sascha. Shyly, she looked at the boy. He swallowed hard.
Sascha was not far away. And he was staring at Isi so intensely that Isi felt like she was dying a little from excitement. Sascha's cheeks were deep red and he couldn't help staring at Isi.
Isi felt helpless. He could just lean over and kiss Sascha, but something stopped them. They were probably too afraid of what could happen afterwards.
But then Sascha gathered all his courage, approached Isi and shyly pressed a kiss to her cheek.
Isi felt his heart pounding faster in miliseconds. Sascha moved away again so far that he could look into Isi's eyes.
Isi dared to smile in relief. And then Sascha had to smile too. Sascha noticed that Isi's cheeks were taking on a slight reddish hue. He looked good.
Shyly, Sascha bit his lips. He smiled shyly.
Then Isi cleared her throat softly and grinned awkwardly. "Night, Sascha."
Sascha had to smile again. "Good night, Isi."
An open ending. I'm mean. You can think of something yourselves now.
I hope you liked it a little bit.
