Scout Niblett ably covers TLC!
Barbara Kruger, Untitled (Your Body Is A Battleground). 1989.Â
More powerful now than it was then. Just as timely.Â

YOUR BODY IS ONCE AGAIN A BATTLEGROUND - NOW MORE THAN EVER!!
GILEAD IS NOW ALL TOO REAL.Â
GET READY TO FIGHT, IF YOU HAVEN’T BEGUN ALREADY.Â

In tragedy, music provided solace during the AIDS epidemic, and newly discovered cassette tapes captured two decades of parties and pain.
This is an incredibly moving story about mix tapes as they relate to capturing time, place, grief, joy, soul.. the very essences of life itself.Â

The New Year - “The End’s Not Near”
Wishing us all a steady flow of goodness and resilience for 2022...
“Somewhere out on the ocean Across the waves The rise and fall deep beyond imagination Some kind of madness I don't know...”

Feelin’ it. Hard.
“Anhedonia” - Chelsea Wolfe & Emma Ruth Rundle
down deep in it.
The eight-year academic experiment is now complete. First achieved a B.A. in Communication Studies, and now a Master’s Degree in Media Studies. Honestly didn’t think even two months ago that my thesis would get finished (through five re-conceptualizations in all). It’s far from what i had originally set out to do and further still from what i had re-conceptually intended, but... it’s DONE. Defended, revised, accepted, deposited. D O N E .
Rest, tooth extraction, second vax and expected side effects next week, relax for a few weeks after that, then.. Now what?!Â
We, the CKUT-fm family of Montreal and beyond, local wonderful record label Constellation Records, music scenes across Canada and around the globe have lost the realest of the real this week.
Joni Sadler was the kindest human and the coolest person I've ever known. She left us suddenly from a brain aneurysm that had the unjustness to go after one of the few truly brilliant minds in this country. The loss of Joni ripples wide, far and deep.
Please take a moment to read a beautiful tribute from her close friends and beloveds at https://cstrecords.com/pages/joni-sadler .Â
I love you, Joni. You have inspired me since the day we met in 2012, and you will now continue to inspire me forevermore. Her family, her partner Richard, and everyone who counted her as a bandmate and as a friend have my most profound condolences, as i too share the sorrow of a world now without her.Â
