Information Visualization for Dictionary Challenge
Object Observed
PRESSA, Clothing Dry Rack
The intention of this object is clear thanks to the signifier of the texture of the clips, the spring on the clips and frankly, the pure NUMBER of human sized clips gives me a huge clue about how the object should be used.
Object Observed
Brass Plant Mister
A hole to hook one’s finger through tells me the object is meant to be held. The wide button at the top of the push lever signifies to me to push down, but not with 100% clarity - which is where I think the discoverability comes in on this object. The feedback of the push lever spring back tells me I did what the designer wanted me to do. The object does exactly what I want without hassle.

Urban Ministries of Durham is selling the naming rights to all of the items that connect our clients to food, shelter and a future.
Inspiration
Kartz Ucci was an Educator and Artist that helped guide me through my BFA year. Remembering her belief in my creative energy continues to inspire me as I embark on a new creative journey at CCA.
“She recently completed her final installation work, “256 Shades of Grey,” a temporary sound and light piece to be projected into/onto/through the desert on Saturday, October 12, from 6-10 p.m. in Joshua Tree, California, on the opening night of High Desert Test Sites 2013 (HDTS).”
