Giovanni couldn’t help but break out in a smile, and then his smile turned into a laugh. “You always get me,” he said, leaning in and kissing her.
He stroked her face. “I’m waiting for the right moment to let him know I know. That one vein in his forehead may burst,” he said, smiling at the thought. Giovanni didn’t know when this resentment for his father had started, but Giovanni was done being afraid of him. “And that’s why we can have sex wherever we want. Even on top of the baby grand for all I care.” Giovanni smirked.
Maybe he would be home a lot more often now, just to spite his father. Either way, it was time to start doing the things he wanted, the way he wanted. This was only just the beginning.

Jackie embraced the kiss with an excited smile, she liked their moments together better when he seemed happy. “God, I hope so after all these years,” she joked.
Even she had to smirk a little at the thought of Giovanni Sr. losing it over this. He always came off as one of those people who thrived on order, something like this would definitely ruin his mood. If spiting him like that was what it took to make Gio happy, she was all for it.
Her eyes grew as he mentioned having sex wherever they wanted, partly in mock excitement, but mostly in the real thing. “You know I’ve always fantasized about having sex on top of your piano,” she said behind a devious grin.
She had always loved this side of Giovanni, preferred it honestly. When he was relaxed, she felt free to feel the same. In this moment there was nothing but him, her and what she hoped would soon be the sounds of random piano keys being shoved down without any rhyme or reason. It wasn’t some romantic fairly tale romance, but it was real, and she couldn’t ask for anything else.

Mm, I do like cider… Okay, I’ll give it a whirl.

Exactly! It saves so much time, energy, and needless smiling! Besides, most anyone who’s worth it can see through that whole fake act in a minute. So you wouldn’t even be winning over anyone worthwhile.

Yes! Like you honestly expect me believe I can’t tell you’re being fake? The fact someone would think I’m dumb enough to fall for that is almost more infuriating than them being fake in the first place.

Yeah, I know a few things like that.
You could try a hard cider. It doesn’t have as much alcohol as hard liquor. It’s like a beer, but it’s made from apples, so it’s tastes better.

“I’m tired of making excused for him, Jackie. If anyone has helped me become a better leader, it’s my grandfather. He’s the one who’s taught me everything I know, not my father.” All his father ever had for him was criticism. His grandfather at least had been encouraging, especially when Giovanni was younger.
“Yes…I don’t know,” he said, after a pause. His relationship with his father was strained at best. He hated the elder Razzo for always being so hard on him, but at the same time, he was Giovanni’s father and Giovanni wanted his approval. “They’re my parents. I didn’t really feel like talking about it.”He shook his head. “It’s his problem, I’m just not going to make his life any easier than I have to. He can’t tell me shit anymore.”

Jackie couldn’t deny his words. Gio had always seemed much closer to his grandfather than his actual father. It was a shame that it had to be like that, but it was better than having no one in your own family on your side. She simply nodded, trying to reassure him with her touch as she lightly stroked his cheek with her thumb. He always had her, if nothing else.
She wasn’t one hundred percent sure what to tell him about his father. Giovanni was right. It was his father’s problem. He’d have to handle it like the man he always claimed to be. “I understand,” she said when it was becoming clear that the subject was making him less than comfortable.
She smiled, hoping to lighten the mood even just a little bit. “I guess if nothing else it makes for good blackmail?”
