I literally can not emphasize enough how much of a textbook case of intersectionality transmisogyny is. The basic idea of intersectionality can be summed up as follows:

Some businesses would not hire black women, but because they would hire black men and white women, it was not considered discrimination on the basis of race or gender. Therefore, it is insufficient to simply combat racism and misogyny, but rather we must specifically combat misogynoir, the unique oppression that black women experience specifically.

If we replace businesses which wouldn't hire black women with a government passing laws which specifically target trans women, you obtain an analogous statement about transmisogyny. It is phenomenally easy to apply intersectionality to the oppression of trans women. Therefore, if someone claiming to be familiar with intersectionality denies the existence of transmisogyny, they must be speaking in bad faith. Such a belief can only come from willful ignorance or malice.

I ran cross country in highschool, I was good at it. Really good. Record setting good in my school district. Then I had a bad fall, ruined my knee forever. I still wanted to run so I got a special brace. The brace in question used spring tension to help me run. The school board banned me from running because they saw it as a "performance enhancing device" And maybe for an abled person it would have been, but for me it just allowed me to run at about 3/4ths my previous ability. Getting banned destroyed me. I stopped running, felt worthless and have gotten so bad now I can't really even walk so good. Use a wheelchair most of the time. Competition is for the ableds and it is designed to humiliate and destroy anyone who doesn't have a "Perfect body" and i fucking hate hate hate hate it.

Second choice? Yeah. Back up plan? Happens. Fetishized? Always.

But never just chosen. Never just pursued. Never loved quite as much as we need. Never the object of obsession. Never the focus of passion.
