Because this is apparently stick up for wolves day.

Wolf reintroduction in Yellowstone has changed the ecosystem *significantly*.

One remarkable thing that was not predicted that demonstrates how interlinked these things are:

Wolf eat elk.

Elk eat fewer willows.

Willows become healthier.

Number of beavers increase.

Number of songbirds increase.

Overall health of streams increases.

Number of fish increases.

Water table stabilizes.

This is called a “trophic cascade” and we normally see them as bad things. But a positive trophic cascade is an amazing thing, and apparently nobody predicted this one.

What they didn’t predict was that wolf predation would keep elk on the move so they wouldn’t overgraze a specific area.

When the elk overgrazed the willows, they removed the best source of food for beavers during the winter.

Once that stopped happening, the beaver population rebounded and it turns out beavers are pretty good for the entire ecosystem.

Honestly my partner has a lot of friends in the infosec community and they’ve all been lamenting the rise of Zoom because this is only ONE of very, very many reasons Zoom is an absolute security/privacy nightmare.

Zoom has a for bosses option to see if you aren’t paying attention called the “Attendee Attention Tracking” option

Zoom has sold people’s personal information to facebook even if you don’t have an account. A quick look though their terms of service shows this was never mentioned. They are being sued over it now. 

Zoom does not have End To End Encryption even though they advertise it as such, Zoom has personal access to every meeting and it’s servers are not at all secure in China (which Zoom admitted they should not be rooted to)

Also just a personal thing I’ve noticed. IT IS TOO EASY TO HIJACK A ZOOM MEETING. GUESSING A ZOOM ID IS WAY TOO EASY

The Waterdeep: City of Splendor book has maps of the city all divided up into districts so I took them all and photoshopped it together. Some of the scaling doesn’t match up so I tried cutting it up and moving it around a bit, and it looks pretty good.
