Scattered Bones Brush - CLIP STUDIO ASSETS

i made a scattered bone brush for use in ARHT, and I uploaded it for free to the clip store if this kind of thing would be useful for your art. There was not already a scattered bone brush to my liking. These bones are sort of to scale with one another.

I'd love to see what you make with it if you use it! It's got about 40 unique bones that will flip and rotate giving a real, "random pile of bones" vibes.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds

I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study

after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines

et voila

and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)

my chains are broken i am FREE. although i did have a great deal of fun with this, the barring on the wings itself took me like four days and i am READY to move on

BIRD NUMBER 10!!! The Male Mallard Duck, Anas platyrhynchos

the male and female ones are gonna be posted separately bc they're taking a lot longer lol but yea! super happy i was able to capture the iridescent green of the head, i found metallic green and blue paint at a craft store that really made his head POP. it looks better in person i promise

ALSO!! As this is the 10th one, BIG announcement. The end is in sight!!!!! I plan to finish within the next 3 weeks and there will be a small dedication ceremony/ unveiling happening at the library to commemorate its completion on the 16th of May. the 16th is looming in the distance so i'm trying to get thru these as quickly as i can so i can have as much time for the GBH as possible. i still need to do the names next to all of them so i've got about a week and a half to finish everything which is GREAT because i have adhd and nothing gets my ass in gear like a fuckin deadline, let me tell you

and NOW that they are complete, ITS GO TIME, in the next five days (library's closed for mother's day 😭😭) i need to have the GBH fully rendered, the names of the birds vectored, weeded, masked, applied to the wall, and then painted, plus additional cattails throughout. I may be able to get away with just getting the GBH done in time for the unveiling and then just have the names and cattails added later, but i'm gonna really try to get it all done in time. BUT, i have a plan. Part of why i take so long on these is because i really am just figuring it out as I do it lmao. there have been many a time where i am sitting on top of the ladder googling "how to paint birds" but I think if i take the time tomorro to do all that figuring out how to approach it beforehand, this will go a lot faster. I may also recruit some of my artist friends to help with the placing of the names... hrmm we'll see.

Anyways, shout out to the librarian who tracked down exactly the thing i needed so i could figure out where to place the highlights in my birds eyes, ur the real mvp

thank you to everyone who reached out or got excited about this project, it genuinely gave me the fuel i needed to keep going. In total, the 480+ total hrs it took me to cover this wall pales in comparison to how long its expected to spend on there, hopefully imparting a sense of beauty and love for the natural world to the next generation and here's hoping i'm only getting started with these.

As I mentioned previously, I am getting surgery for a debilitating health condition I've been dealing with 14 months (dragged out because of doctors' misdiagnoses) that's basically destroyed my quality of life.

Unfortunately, the surgery can't be done in Canada, so I have to go to Madrid for it which will cost €40,000 (approx $60,000 CAD, Canadian Dollars). I don't expect to raise all $60,000, but I am trying to raise half of it ($30,000). My family will be helping with the other half,

I don't really expect to get the $30,000, because it's a LOT of money, but I'm in a desperate situation and in pain every single day. If you could donate anything or even just boost and share to any platforms/communities you can, it would help me so much. <3

I don't like asking for money and I don't like using EG to fund raise, and I know it's a tough time for everybody right now economically, but as I said I'm desperate, so I hope you all understand me using my platform for this.

Been working on Chapter 53 of All Roses Have Thorns! 39 pages this time. I've got the people in 9 pages inked, and another 14 pages in progress

this is extremely local and also a shot in the dark but if literally anyone on this site lives in frederick county, maryland i am begging you to sign the referendum to vote on the expansion of the data center in frederick. they have until march 15th to get 18,000 signatures, after which we can vote to slap that expansion right out of their hands if we're lucky. you will need to sign at one of their in-person signing events, but it will be worth it. unfortunately they've already started construction on the site, but we CAN deny them from destroying another 1000 acres of forest/wetlands, high value farmland, and rural legacy areas.

the data center is being built on the site of an old aluminum plant, and the area surrounding it has already undergone numerous investigations for soil and groundwater contamination containing PCE, arsenic, fluoride, and the cancer-causing compounds PAHs and PCBs. while the linked EPA report seems to conclude that the contaminants on the site are "residual", it is still very much an actual superfund site. and someone decided to plunk a data center on it. the factory closed in 2005 and they were still finding new waste storage areas up until 2014, and construction is going to churn up all of that soil. i don't know enough about how well those contaminants travel as airborne dust, but it WILL get into the groundwater again with extensive disturbance like that. the current owners are now responsible for any remediation and i frankly do not trust fucking meta to keep anything from leaching anywhere. the site is also quite literally on top of tuscarora creek, which is extremely close to and flows directly into the potomac (and considering the current shitwater horizon situation our poor river REALLY does not need any more issues).

as a final kick of irony, the plant the data center will be built on closed because it was using so much electricity that they could no longer afford power. now. does that seem like a great place to build a data center, which are famous for slurping down so much electricity that it raises everyone's electric bills in the entire surrounding area. what was the thought process here. how did this ever get approved. please if you can, sign that referendum to nuke this expansion from orbit.
