Hey, y'all. So I noticed that I have yet to fully introduce myself and this writeblr of mine.

Here's several things to know about me.

1. I'm 32 years old (that's old for me, I know, but it is what it is).

2. I've been writing since 2012 (poems to start with, but then progressed to short stories in 2015 and then novels and novellas in 2018).

3. I'm neurodivergent (Asperger's Disorder, a form of autism).

4. I have a vast personal library that mainly consists of a few classics, some mainstream fiction, nonfiction, and even teen fiction/YA stories that take me back to high school.

5. My writing style is mainly based on the soap operas that I grew up watching with my grandma when I was a kid ("Young and the Restless," "Bold and the Beautiful," "Days of Our Lives," "General Hospital," etc), but I like to add those to any genre that comes to my mind as a way to keep people wanting more and more.

6. My dream novel to write has to be totally out of the box while having an edgy storyline.

7. I self-publish my ongoing superhero teen-fiction novels on Amazon but my more-controversial novels are meant for Inkitt, Wattpad, and maybe Deviantart.

8. When it comes to my controversial tales, I never let my conservative family members know what I write since my grandpa is a minister. And if he caught wind of what I wrote, he'd flip his lid and have a heart attack- and that's before he kills me.

What I would like to see with this writeblr of mine? Well, I hope to at least share more of my stories and poems with you guys and even my experiences of my ongoing writing career alongside a few other writer-relating moments. And I guess you can say that this writeblr is going to take me onwards to the next stage of my creative lifestyle. Wish me luck, folks! I'm going to need it!

Put an introvert and an extrovert in a scene together and you have automatic tension without a single dramatic event. The extrovert needs the introvert to respond so they can figure out what they're feeling. The introvert needs the extrovert to stop talking so they can figure out what they're feeling. They both need the same thing (to process) and the way they need to do it is the exact opposite of what the other one needs. They drive each other insane. They also understand each other completely eventually. Write that eventually.

Happy Independence Day Weekend!

Non-writers think writers are introverts who just want to be alone. Incorrect. Writers want to be at the party, fully absorbing every conversation, clocking every weird thing anyone does, storing all of it, and then leave exactly 40 minutes before they get tired so they can go home and write about it. We're not antisocial. We're harvesting.

Writer confidence is not a thing you build and then have. It's a thing you have for about eleven minutes after writing something good and then it evaporates and you have to make more. There is no reservoir. There is no saving it up. You produce it fresh each time from scratch like some kind of emotional artisan bread and if you don't write for a few days you run out and have to start the whole process over again from flour.

Listen, you can’t write perfect characters. No one cares about reading about someone who never screws up. Your characters need to make bad decisions, they need to hurt people, and they need to be hurt. They should doubt themselves and do things they regret. People don’t fall in love with characters because they’re flawless; they fall in love because those characters remind them of the chaos inside themselves. So don’t be afraid to put your characters through hell. Only then will their journey mean something.

The question "so what do you do" at a dinner party is different for writers because the honest answer is "i sit alone in a room having arguments with people who don't exist and occasionally produce a document about it" and that's technically true and also sounds insane so instead you say "i write" and then someone asks "anything i'd know" and you have to decide in real time how much of your soul you want to put on this table right now.
