Holy cow, I’ve been on an art kick or something this month! I can’t explain it but I get the urge to draw something every midnight.

Anyways, I’ve been getting into the Hatchetfield trilogy (I don’t have the courage to unpack Nightmare Time yet) and got an unparalleled sense of “I wish I could have vibed with these characters but they died” upon watching Nerdy Prudes Must Die. So here’s the dynamic trio of Paul Matthews, Ted Spankoffski, and Emma Perkins! Wait no that’s not right.

NEW CHARACTER (Kinda) ALERT

So you might remember a couple comics ago, I had Jar (my self-insert for all intents and purposes) interact with this one other guy. (I combined traits from a bunch of my close friends so Jar would have one “friend” character to drive with)

Well, in an attempt to expand what I can tell stories about, I’m officially adding this guy to the roster as another fully fleshed-out character, still heavily inspired by experiences from my real-life friends. And I need a name for this suave, sarcastic, wannabe-greaser-lookin’ bestie. Please give suggestions down below.

This is a funny little satire of my experience because that’s what I do on this blog, but I do want to be 100% serious when I say this: your journey is yours alone to take. I’m Scared on Behalf of the Number 4

4 is such an introverted number. Like it’s such a normal number on its own, and then the second you pair it up with any other number it turns into some wacky bs.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I know that in my experience, 4:00 has never been important. AM OR PM. 5 AM is the earliest a person would be feasibly waking up, and 5 PM is when the evening starts. 3 AM is the latest a person would feasibly be staying up, and 3 PM is when the afternoon starts ending. 4:00 is some weird liminal time.

It’s even unusual in the context of regular numbers. Ten? Love it. An absolute staple of all numbers. Twenty and thirty, too. And then there’s forty? What the hell? Fifty is a classic, and sixty is also. Seventy, eighty, ninety, all of them have something going on except forty.

You can’t even put it as the final digit in a number. What the actual hell is 54? Or 74? The number 94 genuinely makes me want to puke; it is possibly the worst number 1-100 and it’s not the fault of the ninety.

This is my official petition to let 4 hang out alone. We are clearly forcing it into spaces it is not comfortable in.
