Sappy decade story time!
Forgive me for being a little late, It took a lot to gather these words. We are now in a new decade another whole 10 years has passed us by and it takes a lot to reflect on all that has happened. We’re not gonna remember every moment, especially the earlier ones, but there’s a small, yet very important, moment from the spring on 2010 that will stay with me forever. I was in the car with my mom and we were arguing about my interests. Anyone who knows me knows the I get into something I REALLY get into it. The first movie that caught my interest in this way was the first How To Train Your Dragon film. I was 12 years old at the time which was “too old for cartoons” according to my family, so it was a common source of conflict.
However, despite there criticisms, I continued to enjoy the movie and the fan content i saw online, my favorite being AMVs. I loved the videos so much I wanted to make them myself, so I downloaded movie clips off of YouTube and pulled iTunes files into iMovie and made AMVs, really REALLY bad ones. And the moment I will always remember is when my mom, irritated, said “Ugh! It’s almost like you can’t hear a song without visualizing those dragon videos in your head!” It was an insult at the time, but now I think of it as one of the best compliments I’ve ever gotten. In spring of 2010 I started editing videos. In spring of 2020 I will be graduating with a BS in Communications, my concentration being video production. It’s amazing what a decade can do.
Moral of the story: There will always be people who won’t believe in what you do, but continue doing it if it makes you happy. Follow your passions, you never know where they might lead you.
May the 2020’s bring us greatness!

Sometimes we don't know if we're ready for a relationship. Sometimes we feel mislead by fiction because love in the adult world doesn't line up with it. Sometimes we're still turning out. And that's ok. It's human.
