So I know itâs short, but Iâve had a busy week so hereâs JayRae Week 2022 Day 1! Sorry itâs a day late, but I am hoping to catch up!
Jason Todd was not a man to get jealous; especially not of his enemiesâ love lives; however, he had never been so blindingly livid as he walked through San Francisco hunting down his favorite Thai Food Place, because he was starving and wanted Thai food; he wanted peanut noodles. So he had naturally gone to his haunt, what he did not expect was the Lazarus blinding power destroying his mental peace when he walked into his typical haunt.
No, part of the reason he had this haunt was not because he could see Raven; whoâs typical haunt was a bookshop they both shared a fondness for. But rather because it was genuinely good Thai food and Jason had a weakness for good Thai food. So when he walked into his typical haunt with peanut noodles on the forefront of his mind he was not expecting the blinding rage of the Lazarus Pit to hit him when he saw Raven there with a GUY! Not just any guy! Joey Wilson! The Paul Newman looking mother fucker! With his blond curls, blue eyes, Adonis features of a classical Greek statue or something!
Yeah, Jason was kind of infatuated with Raven, she was hot and pretty in a very unique way. She had a unique mix of features, heâd have thought her Native American, but she had huge round eyes, and this German nose, and she was gorgeous though, in this unique way he could never place; but she was gorgeous. So gorgeous, so stunningly beautiful and she was here with that PRICK!
Okay, not fair, Jason screwed around with Rose enough to know that of her siblings Joey was the good one.
BUT! That was his enemy, on a fucking DATE! With a Paul Newman guy! He wanted to blow up the Thai joint now; burn it to the gound, he didnât need peanut noodles anymore, gods damn him, he wanted to just turn around and walk out. But then Raven looked up, and so as to not break his cover with the empath enemy there, he marched determinedly towards the counter; placed his order to go this time rather than just eating there. The clerk called him Jay, and he nodded as he counted out the money to pay for his meal before he went to lean on the counter to wait. Mrs. Bho bustled out to greet him, kissing his cheek as she talked rapidly, telling him he was too skinny, he needed good woman, and she had a new book of poetry from Thailand for him, fresh off the boat too, from her nephew. He nodded his head and smiled nicely at her as he tried not to eavesdrop on Ravenâs date.
He was gleefully tap dancing in his head that it sounded like it was bombing, spectacularly crashing and burning; through no fault of Ravenâs in his head because she had killer tastes in books. Not that he stalked the woman, but because that bookshop across the street was where they competed for the rare books in the orders; the clerk made jokes about it a lot. Jay looked up and smiled tightly when Mrs. Bho brought him his order. He promised to come back and eat properly next time. With that he left before something (him) stupid happened.
Raven watched him leave, her eyes narrowed a bit as he walked out.
