I get commissioned irl a fair amount and have found that its actually kinda hard for me to figure out what someone wants bc i have a relatively wide artistic range and the ppl commissioning me aren’t even thinking about the fact that different art styles exist

this isn’t a bad thing, it just means i am legitimately gaining the skill to figure out what specific art features someone who knows nothing about art wants

it’s so magical and beautiful that there are sprawling interconnected cave systems carved deep into the earth by various geological forces and you don’t have to go in them. there are miles and miles of stone passageways in total darkness that require you to exhale all the air out of your lungs to squeeze through parts of them and you don’t have to be there. some of these squeezes are underwater and require cave divers to take off their oxygen tanks and push them through ahead of them and me i am above ground looking at the sky as we speak. there are untold subterranean wonders no human has ever seen and i will not be the one to discover them #grateful #blessed

Told one of my professors that i was using writing a zombie book as a method of studying neuroscience and got informed that im not even the first person to think of that??? There’s a whole neuroscience book where they just are doing a zombie deep dive?????? I’m so happy?????

idk i'm not sure "ai" "art" is going to increase demand for traditional art specifically, i think what it's doing is devaluing certain types of polish. smooth rendering and clean lineart and glossy realism are all suspicious now. what we need to start doing is focusing on complex character-specific facial expressions and body language and switch entirely to narrative-focused lighting styles and weaving abstract layers of symbolic meaning indecipherable to computers and ok listen yes this is a list of things i wanted to do anyway but just because it's self serving doesn't NECESSARILY mean it's wrong,

this is genuinely why my style for ‘photorealistic art’ changed to something more messy and something that deviates from the original photo. i got kinda huffy that that skill set i’d developed became suddenly devalued that i went “no, actually imma show u how i understand lifelike art better than ur ‘puter.” and preceded to mess with lighting for my own nefarious purposes
