There are! There are several where the pathological report is like “The burial does not seem to be intentional and there are no signs of illness or trauma to the body. It is theorized the decedent was a traveler who died of exposure or drowned.” aka wandered into the bog drunk, tripped, ate shit and inhaled peat.

It took me an embarassing two seconds to figure out what an unintentional burial meant LOL

I was in fact wondering if traces of alcohol were actually found in the bog bodies system, but the capacity for archeologists to determine the contents of one’s stomach and whether it extends to fermented fruit juice is one of those many fields of studies I have had to relegate to the unforeseeable future.

I don’t think you could test a bog body for alcohol because bog bodies are essentially pickled by being preserved in a highly acidic environment. It’s really hard to get an accurate blood alcohol reading on waterlogged bodies that are relatively fresh so I think a body that it would be impossible in a body that has been pickled for several thousand years. The stomach contents that are preserved are things that have also been persevered by the acidity, like grains and seeds.
