Hostel life take 5:

So finally arrive at Hervey Bay after a 13 hour journey on the freezing cold greyhound, that can't stop anywhere half decent for food! Check in to hostel all seems good, decided to have an early night as not much sleep with being on a bus for 13 hours and early start for Fraser tomorrow. Get myself in bed fast asleep.....4am I get woken up by some crazy guy on the bottom bunk on the other side of the room screaming and pulling his sheet off him, he then runs out the door shakes the sheet and hits his body all over and then slowly comes back in and he's back into bed?!?! I have no idea what he thought was in his bed, but there was nothing there...he needs to head further north and then he'll be scared of things waking him up in the night!

Hostel life take four:

Moved to YHA Airlie beach blonde German girl arrives into my room at 8pm has a shower walks out of the bathroom into the room naked.....then continues to walk around naked for 10 minutes. Then decides place her tena lady in her knickers before putting them on.....I have no words.

Hostel life take three:

In base at Airlie beach and have three other people in my room.....one is currently in the shower shouting and singing. Who are these crazy people.

Greyhound trip three:

Watched crocodile clips for two hours.....stopped off at a service station in the middle of nowhere. Ate a sweet chilli chicken wrap. Arrived in Airlie beach ☀️

There is a lizard in my room……and someone has stolen my phone charger. Need to buy a waterproof it’s raining in cairns.

Hostel life take 1:

So I started blogging about all the lovely places I've been but have decided to change the content slightly.....there has been over 40 other hostel stays before this post, a lot of stories to tell.....but I'll start from today, or should I say last night! Currently staying backpackers HQ in Kings cross: Woke up yesterday day to no food, some lovely idiot had stollen it, had to go to the shop and buy more.....hope they enjoyed it! Last night get into bed at 10pm for a nice early night, no air con so feels like I'm sleeping in a sauna! Have a girl from Finland in the bunk above that has just arrived and is flat out (new arrivals are a pain) then the French guy who is snoring so bad he could win the Olympics (that's if they had a snoring sport) He tends to play 80's music on his laptop till he falls asleep, this meaning I have to listen to it until he nearly knocks his laptop on the floor! Finland girl decides she needs to get up at 5am (body clock is all buggered up) to go for a run with her friend and this means slamming doors and making as much noise as possible, how did she know that I wanted a 5am wake up call?!?? 6am they are still out running but there is an alarm going off......15minutes later still going off, look through her bag, oh yes I forgot you should always set an alarm before you leave your hostel room just incase the slamming doors didn't walk your room mates up! 4 hours sleep, tired and pissed off to say the least! Might as well go for breakfast.

So an update of the last couple of days I headed north to Wellington taking the scenic train and the sounds air flight from the South Island to the north.....the views amazing! I had a couple of days in Wellington before flying to Auckland to meet my top deck crew and explore the North Island! Stayed in nomads hostel in Wellington I highly recommend as free dinner and pancakes for breakfast, plus good to meet new people. What there I made friends with a Canadian girl and had a couple of nights out there. Best night life since I've been here!

On the road again! After spending a couple of days in Christchurch with my brother after finishing my first top deck tour of the South Island! I have arrived in kaikoura staying at the fish tank backpackers, the hostel is lovely with an amazing view of the sea! Heading out for some local seafood tonight.....whale watching today was amazing managed to see sperm whales, dusky Dolphins, seals and some orca whales! Feel very lucky to see them in the wild and so close! Defiantly worth a trip out on the ocean, heading to Wellington tomorrow on the scenic train for a couple of nights!

Milford sound the most beautiful place I think I've ever been, the mountains are amazing you feel like your in a fairy tale! Took a boat out even in the rain, loads of temporary water falls out as it had been raining and snowing lots! The first image is the visible fault line you can see, they have over 1000 very small earthquakes a month and generally have one large one every 200 years but it hasn't happened in 300 years so they are waiting for that! Picture perfect!

Queenstown amazing like always! Lots to do although the Lord of the rings horse riding maybe avoid as the horses are crazy!!! Popped into the ice bar and had a cocktail followed by a famous ferg burger, they are amazing!

From yesterday up at fox glacier, decided to do the walk up. You get about 200meters away from the glacier bit steep in places but worth the walk up! You can take a helicopter to the top and walk on the glacier if you want to get really close, they have stopped doing the half day hike up on to the front part of glacier as it is unstable after the front fell off a few months ago ❄️

An amazing cafe in the heart of Queenstown worth a visit if ever this part of the world! Cakes are delicious 🍰
