it's so fucking funny to me that when i first joined the fandom everyone's designs were like. guy in a mask. eboy. guy in a mask with vaguely inhuman traits here and there even though his skin is a wholeass mob. dude with a sweater. literally just the cc's appearance.

now when u look at character design lineups sometimes there's only one or two actually human-looking characters. we've got demons, three sheep hybrids, a half enderman cryptid fucker, a cat, anime man, piglin hybrid, an alien, a forest druid, straight-up just a walking undying totem???

and part of that is because dream smp had a shift from political roleplay into straight-up fantasy and sci-fi but the other part of it is that the fandom artists got teased so much about just drawing crackers all the time that they stepped it up. they said ok bet. and then the ccs started seeing those designs and realized how cool inhuman designs were so they started canonizing them

bad used to be presumed human! so was phil, quackity, and tubbo. but the fanon designs changed all that and there's something really cool about artists getting really into character design and the ccs responding to it

sometimes I think about how Marinette's correlation with the power of Creation is very one to one and obvious, because she's an artist. She's extremely creative, not just in her hobbies but also in how she thinks. She creates things all the time, drawing and crafting and sewing, etc. Of COURSE she represents the power of creation. It's just obvious.

but Adrien? When you think of Destruction, the first thing that comes to mind is usually something violent or, you know, destructive. But Adrien isn't like that. Instead, the way he seems to represent destruction is through...... freedom. Destroying the chains. Breaking the prison bars of his home life. Breaking free of the expectations and ways people see him in order to express himself in the way he sees fit.

Nobody can stop Marinette from creating. And if you try to hold Adrien back..... he will break free.

its a well known fact that the villains of the dream smp fit into the three Gs - c!dream is gaslight, c!wilbur is gatekeep and c!quackity is girlboss. but the one thing thats always confused me is that c!techno is missing simply because theres only three Gs. so i decided to innovate.
