Cillian is so team Grace you guys Iām dying.Ā In this bloody interviewĀ Ā he said he was heartbroken when he read that Grace was going to die because he loved the character so much. He talked about how she revived some of the light and joy in Tommy that he had left in the trenches. He talked about how he loved Graceās duality of being a loving wife but also a strong and tough woman. Basically Cillian was hoping for all the same things we were guys and that kills me. Itās so apparent in this interview and although he would never down-talk SKās writing (donāt bite the hand that feeds you)Ā you can tell he was hoping for all the things that got taken away from us. Which honestly, makes me love him so much more.Ā
He even said āTommy needs a good woman doesnāt he, really, to keep him together.ā Which rips out my heart because there will never be someone as perfect for Tommy as Grace. She was written as his soulmate. Itās literally mentioned several times that they understand each other on a level unlike anyone else.Ā āYouāve seen meāĀ āAnd youāve seen meāĀ āWe can talk, weāre the same.ā etc.Ā and SK blew that all to shit. Cillian also mentioned that the thing he hoped people would notice that he had been trying to play in undertones was the soft/sweet side of Tommy, which was clearly mostly brought out by Grace. Now that sheās gone Iām afraid my favorite aspect of Tommy will be too, his softer/gentler side. :( Ā Ā
You ever read fanfic so god tier you have to wait for real life to load back in so you spend half the day doing tasks with that dead look in your eye, replaying all your favorite moments?
This is so real
Pretty much me back in March last year when I read @lapetiteceinturesworld, @beginningmiddleand and @i-just-look-at-pictures's fics over and over and over again.
No Son Of Mine (One Shot)
Summary: Justice had finally been served in the wake of John's death. But with all acts of violence comes consequences, one Tommy must face when his trusted friend Johnny dogs stumbles upon the now orphaned baby of the traitor and his wife he and Arthur had both murdered in cold blood all in the name or revenge. With no child of their own and Graces refusal to send him to the orphanage, Tommy begrudgingly takes the child into his care. Will Tommy ever show young Oliver the love of a father he deserves? Or will he continue to see him as nothing but a burden the heavens had cruelly punished him with?
Warnings: Language, mentions of murder, mentions of blood, angst, fluff
Authors note: A lovely reader of mine popped into my messages and kindly asked me if I could write this story for them. I'm sorry for the long delay hun, I can only blame my procrastinating brain for my tardiness. Anyway, I hope i did your prompt justice. Enjoy!
What a beautiful story to stumble upon on Christmas day. @brummiereader ššš
Highly recommend reading this one, this is what tommy and grace dynamic is. This is who tommy is, conflicted but soft deep down. And itās Graceās presence in his life that brings that side of him.
Hi, Grace and Tommy fans out there! Out of the blue, I decided to post short scenes from my upcoming Tommy and Grace novel here on tumblr, just snippets that I hope you'll enjoy. I'm a slow writer, so the novel is moving along quite slowly but steadily. In the meantime, while it's being finished, I wanted to give you a piece of it now, so that you know how many people love this fantastic couple, and so that you feel you're not alone in your adoration. If you like these short posts, let me know and I'll publish more in the future. :)
"There's something else I'm curious about," Grace mentioned, after Tommy's head had come to rest on her shoulder again, and she was staring at the rays of light scattered across the floor, pondering. "What the meaning of that two words you used to describe me?"
"What do you mean?"
"It sounded like femeie nebunÄ."
"Do you understand Romanian?" Tommy marveled.
"A little. Don't avoid the question!" she warned him after Tommy hadn't said a word for half a minute.
"Maybe we shouldn't have started this conversation," he murmured under his breath. Releasing Grace from his arms, he leaned against the bedpost, not bothered by the hard bedrails pressing into his spine. With raised eyebrows, Grace stared back, giving Tommy a meaningful glance. Her lover first sighed, then spread his hands wide as a final gesture of relinquishment, then lowered them resignedly. "Crazy woman."
"What?"
"It means: crazy woman."
If the accusation of being dramatic doesn't hold up, neither does the suggestion that she doesn't pull herself together quickly after the shock of an unexpected event. This included when her lover called her crazy women.
"Did you really call me that?" she was indignant, but Grace herself realised the contradictory impression her grinning lips gave. This did not stop her from continuing. "In the middle of our first quarrel?" she complained. "And why is that exactly?" Tommy shook his head, laughing. Grace's upper body half turned towards him and she rested her legs beside herself. "And what did I ever do to deserve such an honourable title as crazy?"
"Shall I sort? You pointed a gun at me. You threatened to blow my brains out if I ever thought of using you again to achieve my goals. For the record, that part was justified. I watched you shoot your shitty cousin... if I counted right, six toes, like it was the most natural thing in the world, and then warned him that if he insulted you again, you'd rip his tongue out. He attacked you, and you broke his wrist. I heard from Polly that you stole her pistol and needle from her purse as you walked past her and replaced it with a whisky bottle and a wooden stick. Then you pointed the needle at her throat and threatened to shoot her too. When I heard that, I couldn't believe my ears. That was surprising, even for you. Nobody ever dared treat Polly like that before. I'm quite impressed, Miss Burgess," he tilted his head. There were sparks of amusement in his eyes, with a hint of genuine astonishment and a touch of harmless sneer.
"I simply laid down the rules." Grace had no intention of making excuses. She didn't embellish the facts, because there was nothing new in them. Everything happened exactly as Tommy had just described it. Grace had been aware that the Shelby sisters' aunt had not taken her to heart, and from her past experience, and from the number of times Polly Gray had tried to get her out of her own way just to prove herself superior, and when she had failed, had always countered with some outrageous insult, Grace had drawn the reasonable conclusion that she did not like Polly either. Grace could not deny that she considered her certain qualities worthy of respect, but Polly was too much of a competitive spirit, not helped by her spectacular jealousy of the influence she felt Grace was exerting over Tommy. As if the only way a man and a woman can work together is for one to manipulate the other through trickery. "No one can falsely accuse me and then walk free and expect to get away with it."
This is great ! I canāt believe youāre back... Yours were the first fanfictions Iāve read ... I loved them so much ! I canāt wait for you to post more short story and for the publication of that novel you talk about ! Thanks for sharing Ā your stories with us.
I thank you for reading. You can't imagine what it feels like to have people out there in the big world who love my writing and look forward to my novels. Since this short installment went out, I've shared other snippets from the novel. I'm currently working on it, I'm making pretty good progress, but I can't say when I'll be able to publish it for you to read. In the meantime, I'll be posting these little pieces with you every month. Your words mean a lot, thank you, darling.ā¤ļøā¤ļø
When will Tommy get over Graceās death š
Anon, darling. Iād say a while. xx
āThe ghosts of Tommy's past come back to haunt him in Season 5, and Knight chose Tommy's greatest love, Grace Burgess (Annabelle Wallis), who was tragically killed in Season 3, to be his tormentor. At the end of the finale, Tommy's last encounter with Grace ends with him putting a gun to his head, so it's clear that he's beginning to lose his mind. "[Grace's death] was almost like the second biggest trauma, if not the biggest trauma of his life," Knight told IGN. "And so as the cracks begin to appear, I felt that it was important that he begins to see her again as a possible way out."Ā IGN

Annabelle Wallis on Grace's return to the Peaky Blinders franchise
25th August - 22nd September 2019 = S5 of PB is released.
26th May 2020 = Official PB Twitter account posts a tweet asking what people thought about Grace's character.
27th May 2020 = Annabelle retweets it saying that she has "unfinished business."
30th November 2021 = Digital Spy released an interview with Annabelle in which she addresses rumours about her potentially returning and this is what she says - "I have a few very loyal friends in thatĀ Peaky BlindersĀ gang that if I said anything, I think I would be in a lot of trouble," she said. "There's a feature. They're working on a feature, and there's a lot of surprising things in the world ofĀ Peaky Blinders."
1st October 2023 = Annabelle replies to a fan on Twitter who posts that they want Tommy & Grace back. She tweets "You might just get your wish..."
2nd October 2023 = Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs' actor) replies to her tweet - "ā¤š„"
Before S6 was released, I first thought that the "unfinished business" was referring to the final season in which Grace may have returned as Tommy's hallucinations but she didn't and Wallis tweeted that long after the release of S5 (in which she already did make an appearance).
Since she never did appear in S6, I initially thought that maybe she was supposed to appear again but couldn't as they made changes to the script (due to Helen's death, etc.) and therefore had to cut her out or something.
She then brings up the movie when asked about Grace's return in 2021 and now (literally 6 days ago) is once again hinting at her comeback with another actor from PB replying to that comment. I mean, surely she's not just joking around, right?
Thoughts?
She'll come back in hallucinations
She'll appear in flashbacks
She'll appear in Tommy's dreams
Grace will turn out to be alive
Annabelle is just teasing us
