Well 2018 has proven to be the same....very little time for photography and pushing content to the blog. Sorry! I’m working on it though!

Happy New Year! Here’s to hoping 2018 brings better change and progress.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas :)

We’ve had some really great sunsets lately. Pretty much all of November had really clear skies and beautiful color. Even the ugly construction equipment behind my house looked vintage and beautiful during November.

So...just..bleh. How do all the greats do sunrises?? Other photographers, help needed! I guess my graduated filter isn’t dark enough?? It doesn’t help that i’m a black and white film photographer by heart, so all of my color work bugs me.

A misty mountain morning sunrise. I unfortunately struggle with good sunrise shots because I cannot create the beautiful sky replacements in Lightroom. Call me old fashioned, but I just can’t find the urge to learn when i’d rather learn to create in camera. Luckily, photographing perpendicular to the sunrise with filters is a skill in my wheelhouse, as above. Someday I’ll learn proper sunrises...someday...

The dog was a good sport about the fish eye lens test. :)

Steady as she goes old friend. I have mixed feelings on the whiskers debate, but they do make him look cute here.

Remember to look up every now and then. The trunk of a tree may be uniquely beautiful, but so is the canopy.

Still editing images from the mountains trip. I love Lightroom, but I miss the darkroom. This just takes forever.
Enjoying some time in the mountains this weekend. Getting prepped for a sunrise shoot in the morning!!

Beautiful long exposure capture with a stunning reflection! I love the warm colors surrounded by the lush greens and cool colors. Just a serene, lovely setting.
