Someone made a poll asking what you would be more surprised to see knocking on your door: a fairy or a walrus. And most people answered “walrus” prompting a whole Thing™️

Pro-Abortion Protestors Learning They Are Fascist - Kristan Hawkins
Check yourself. If you yell at people you disagree with and suppress their voices rather than engage in an open dialogue, you are acting lik
Nazis were pro abortion & believed in eugenics, so... 🤷🏻♀️
Yeahhhhhhh that’s ahistorical as fuck to claim.
Nazis supported abortions specifically for Jewish people (abortion became legal for Jewish women in 1938). This much is true.
You know what’s also true? Nazi Germany was the goddamn definition of anti-choice. They hated abortions, unless it was for the purposes of "racial hygiene," and wanted women to give birth to as many children as possible whether they wanted to or not.
Nazis blamed poor socioeconomic conditions after the First World War on moral corruption due to things like falling birth rates, women in the workplace, people marrying later on average, homosexuality, and divorce. In order to counter this, they pushed conservative family values and traditional gender roles; in their eyes, Germany had to reject modernity and embrace tradition. Women, they believed, were meant to be at home as wives and mothers. Many propaganda campaigns were centred upon promoting an idealized sense of (Aryan) motherhood, and incentivizing women to have as many children as possible—women need to fulfill their natural roles and birth children for Germany in order to Make Germany Great Again.
Medals were awarded on Mother’s Day to sufficiently fertile and moral German mothers who had birthed a certain number of healthy babies, with the rank of their Mother’s Cross medal determined by how many children they had (iirc the lowest tier—bronze—started at 4 children and went up from there and every tenth child born to a family would have Hitler as their godfather.) But wait! How did they try and accomplish this goal? By banning contraceptives and abortion for the general non-Jewish German population. Any medical professional who performed an abortion on someone considered Aryan by the government would be severely punished, and could face the death penalty after 1943.
The pictures, in order:
Image 1: The Aryan Family by Wolfgang Willrich (painted in either 1938 or 1939, exact date unknown). Look at this happy, pastoral nuclear family. How cottagecore, right?
Image 2: a 1935 propaganda poster by the Mother and Child Relief Agency, which says "Germany grows through strong mothers and healthy children," while showing a mother breastfeeding her child.
Image 3: a Nazi Germany "Mother Cross" medal.
Image 4: a propaganda poster which says "A pregnancy must not be terminated! Beware of counselling and treatment from unqualified persons!" Gotta love how the older woman on the left is clearly meant to be a Jewish witch providing back-alley abortions. Jewish doctors and medical professionals had also been removed from their positions, so antisemitic anti-abortion propaganda was a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
(these are all leftover from an extensive paper I wrote in fourth-year university on this subject that I had saved on my hard drive, and are from German History in Documents and Images, a collection of primary sources by the German Historical Institute. Also I haven't spoken German since I was, like, 5 so I'm trusting the translations.)
To summarize: eugenics as government policy in Nazi Germany involved both “negative eugenics,” where people they considered to be “inferior” were discouraged from reproduction through sterilization and abortions (the "Law for the Prevention of Hereditarily Diseased Offspring" allowed for state-enforced compulsory sterilizations beginning in 1934), and “positive eugenics,” where Healthy Aryan Germans were encouraged to be fruitful and multiply by promoting the nuclear family and banning birth control and abortion.
Also: during the war, pregnant Jewish women in concentration camps would often be subjected to cruel and inhumane medical experiments if their pregnancies were discovered. Gisella Perl, a Jewish gynecologist nicknamed “the angel of Auschwitz,” performed life-saving abortions on her fellow prisoners in secret, because she knew the fate that would await them if their pregnancies continued.
All in all, what I'm trying to say is: you're wrong and you should feel extremely goddamn bad about it.
Supporting reproductive choice is not fascism, but forcing people to undergo unwanted pregnancies (or abortions) sure fuckin' is.
