The saddest, most heartbreaking thing about Anidala is knowing that Anakin gets to live forever as a Force Ghost. And no matter how much time passes, no matter what he does, he's never going to get to see Padmé again.
Is he ever actually going to be happy, going through eternity without her?

I love a mushy gushy force ghost reunion but I need one where death has not stopped obi-wan from being obi-wan and, after the see luke, ghosti-wan avoids ghostakin like the plague. Like anakin turning back to the light sort of completely shatters the reality he has built for himself for 25 years where he was right to not try to get through to anakin. like he just told someone to murder his brotherson and that said brotherson repenting could never happen because said brotherson was gone and lost. And then damn luke brings brotherson back with like a few hours of less than quality time together and loving words. obi-wan kenobi spent the last 25 years of both his life and afterlife not believing padme naberrie’s dying words. Building his own reality and life around the fact that her dying words were not true. and wtf she was right!!!!
Anyways that all sounds more serious than i mean this i mostly meant ghost anakin constantly trying to find obi-wan and obi-wan using his ghostiness to disappear and avoid. i like the idea of ghosts appearing and disappearing like that its fun.
People in Star Wars fandom will say stuff like "I support women's wrongs!" And "We need more complex women!" And then on the same sentence hate Ahsoka for being Annoying, hate Satine because she was mean to Obi-Wan once, and hate Padmé for being Padmé.
Same fans love Leia, but only the hyper simplified fanon Leia who's just an angry non nonsense woman who hates everyone and is angry , doesn't need anyone, is always yelling, and did i mention angry. And she should and would kill Vader, and did i mention angry.
She kills fascists and did i mention she's also very angry. She's a cold headed woman who doesn't need any of that sentimentalism sweet baby Luke has.
And she's very angry.

padme married anakin when he already did genocide and killed children. her only flaw was thinking she can fix him and in the end he killed her, is not all her fault but she did chose to ignore anakin's badness and dark side predisposition

she doesn't hate her job, she wants to help people, padne is compassionate and caring and she chose her job as a politician to make the galaxy a better place, she had frustrations but didn't hate it. Anakin is glad she's a politician simply because that way he can see her, again is about himself, he doesn't understand how complex padme is, he wants a submissive wife that can make him feel safe, that's why he force choked her, because his illusion of a perfect obedient wife shattered and he couldn't find any use to her so he discarded her
he cares for her so little as a person, that's why he's willing to attack her but gives Obi-Wan a chance

"she chose her job as politician" she ain't choose shit. it wasn't entirely her choice. she's trapped in a position she didn't actually want.
also i would like actual text examples of anakin thinking about padmé as some "submissive wife that can make him feel safe", because at this point this take feels like an invention of something that isn't in the text at all. text itself says completely different things. you, as jedi, don't choose someone in general for a relationship if you want "safe". yet he sacrifices everything for this relationship, because it violates jedi code and it would be a scandal for both of them. + he doesn't care who she is, he would love her the same even if she were a simple worker on naboo (he fell in love with her when she was still under the guise of a simple handmaiden after all). the fact that padmé is a politician only makes their situation worse for them, actually 🤷
also anakin genuinely supports padmé's work because, just like padmé, he wants to help people and wants the republic to change for the better. he's just disillusioned in republic as institution, because he's from the lowest class in the republic. and, as former slave, he has every right to criticize this system, because this system failed him and many other slaves. padmé is one of the politicians he respects, because she is truly the kind of politician who isn't corrupt and absolutely honest in what she does to improve the republic.
+ anakin force choking padmé wasn't about some illusion being shattered. it was impulsive action after days of psychotic breakdown and being high on dark side because anakin thought that padmé betrayed him. anakin was ready just a minute ago to overthrow palpatine and give power to padmé, the one for whom all this was done. this is horrendous action, there's no arguing about that, but this action canonically has ACTUAL reason.

can you define "change?" i'm not arguing with someone who can't grasp the transition from one state to another, as if the "story of the fall" were such a difficult concept to understand. it isn't.
and yes, padmé dislikes her job. you can be skilled at something you don't like. you can understand the importance of your job to society and do it to make the world a better place, all while hating the job itself. i think failing to understand how complex padmé is is your problem, not anakin's.
the dark side doesn't change the user's personality, it enhances what was already there. I'm Anakin's case he was always possessive, obsessive and wanted power, the movies and books make clear he was doing it all for himself and for power. he told himself it was for padme but is not, he's jealous and dangerous and padme knew he was dangerous and in the end he chose power over her.
