Finally speaking my truth and admitting that King Aemond Targaryen would forever be one of my most favourite Lucemond tropes. The fics where the house of the dragon is left with him and Lucerys and maybe the little ones. Where Aemond has either married Lucerys simply because he was the only one with Targaryen blood left or where he marries someone else but keeps Lucerys on the side as his side piece with like ten bastards. Where everything is too fucked up for the two of them to ever be truly happy but Aemond tries anyways.

King Aemond who never grows out of his obsession for Lucerys and despite the chagrin of his mother or his councilmen he could never bring himself to do away with Lucerys. He’s just right there, decked out in pearls and pretty dresses. Who’s that gorgeous man sitting beside the King you ask? Oh that’s just his emotional support captive prince/nephew/lover. What did you say? Oh yeah the king definitely killed Prince Lucerys’ entire family but his benevolence has chosen to spare the young prince because of y’know reasons. Does the Prince Lucerys enjoy being with the King? Nope he’s absolutely depressed, he just lost his entire family and the greens won but c’est la vie am I right?

And when Aemond and Lucerys have children but they don’t fuck with Aemond because he’s genuinely just a shitty father and husband? YES GIVE ME TEN THOUSAND MORE OF THOSE. Dark fics where Aemond an all around asshole to Lucerys and his family will always be so delicious. Lucemond children who hate their loser fail father and eventually usurp him trope oh you will always be precious to me.

King Aemond will always equate to miserable Lucemond marriage for me. The ending will ALWAYS be tragic! Lucerys is his momma’s son through and through and there is no universe in which he would ever be happy to see that one eyed loser on his mother’s throne.
