And I was thinking. You know what other spell I saw animated and went oh wow that’s so pretty and not the colors I expected it to be animated as?

Qifrey’s water dragon. Which does in fact have the traditional fire magic coloring

All of their magic contains bits and pieces of each other in one way or another they are making me ill

Okay okay but like, I've been excited about this since I noticed it while reading the manga!!

not only the colors are swapped, but the meaning traditionally associated with their elements!

Typically, water is portrayed as healing, calm and nurturing. It's the thing that gives us life.

But in the manga we see the water mostly portrayed from Qifrey's perspective. For him it's terrifying, deadly and brutal force of nature that can take a life when you least expect it. It's cold and uncomfortable.

Fire is typically shown to be destructive, unpredictable, it's something that we should be careful with and keep away form it.

But with Olruggio, fire is kind and gentle. It warms everyone up, helps them keep dry, it shines in the dark as a beacon to show them a way forward.

I love how not only it reflect their personalities, about how they appear as something at first, but are the opposite in the inside, but it also shows that things aren't always as simple. The world is complex and things aren't always just good or bad but a weird mix of both, creating nuance

my friend's discord server has a "proof of touch grass" channel where they post pics of them doing regular activities outdoors/in public. i think many online spaces could benefit from such a thing

when i was super depressed - like struggling to eat anything barely able to get out of bed to pee depressed - my good friend asked me every day to send her a picture of me holding a leaf and a picture of a meal i was eating and it helped me significantly

(also, she was never judgey - if my meal was a single potato chip she would simply say good job eating a potato chip today <3 )
