Yeah, because fandom writers etc don’t get paid, the people who read etc aren’t “customers”, but equal participants. The adage “if you’re not paying, you’re the product” does not apply in a financial sense. It’s a symbiotic relationship, in that both writers (etc) and commenters are of equal importance. If you write comments, you ABSOLUTELY contribute to fandom, and you do so in an amazing, encouraging, inclusive way.
