I love how they left out the part about them giving out the lesbian couple’s personal information to send them death threats, running them out of their home, and encouraging other fundies to petition to have their children taken away. **examines fingernails**

Also something interesting in there is that Oregon has strict non-discrimination laws that all business must follow. The judge actually compared the lesbian couple’s damages to a case of a dentist discriminating against a Christian who received upwards of $300,000 in their suit.

The lesbian couple also refused to do most interviews and asked that donations go to a local LGBT organization because they were trying to protect their privacy, and they did not do it for the attention.

By the lesbian couple’s account, they didn’t just randomly choose the bakery or specifically choose it because it was Christian. One of them had gotten a cake there before for her mother, and the Christian wife, Melissa Klein was welcoming and told her to come back if she ever got married, knowing she was a lesbian. The husband is the one who turned them away. The Kleins took this as an opportunity to fundraise $500,000 for the $135,000 fine, tour with Ted Cruz, and go on a plethora of talk shows for sympathy.
