y’all at this rate we won’t know anything new about acotar 6 until the day before it releases

the big hype about this next set of books is finally ending the ship war and the publishers KNOW that the ship war is one of the only things keeping so many people interested

they can’t tell us who the book is about because there’s a solid chance that a lot of people won’t buy it if it’s not what they want

from the publisher’s perspective, I get it (it’s frustrating but I get it)

as a reader though…the fact that we are getting a new set of hardcovers before we even know the title of the next release (that is releasing in less than 4 months mind you) is almost enough to turn me off of the rest of the series altogether

if it wasn’t going to be gwynriel, why have nesta and cassian notice how much they seem to be drawn to each other

ACOSF (excluding the bonus chapter which I’m not even going to mention in this post) is told from the pov’s of nesta and cassian

the fact that we know that azriel and gwyn are constantly glancing at each other during training, that azriel turns to look from across the training yard when gwyn makes noise, that azriel is giving gwyn private dagger lessons, that azriel looked at gwyn with silent encouragement and admiration when she cut the ribbon, that they are competitive with each other, that azriel was the one to save gwyn, etc. etc. etc. and the book was not even from either of their pov’s

it would’ve been so easy for SJM to just not include any of that because ACOSF wasn’t about them

the argument could be made that those details weren’t necessary

but she included them

on purpose

to show us, the readers, that those interactions are necessary

that they matter

Gwyn doesn’t scream “amazing cook” to me, so Azriel will likely get something equally simple

But I cannot wait for Elain to learn all of Lucien’s favorite foods and desserts and serve him an entire feast

And Lucien, being the gentleman that he is, will eat every single bite before he shows his mate what it means to f*ck with Autumn Court fire in his veins

I really doubt that's going to happen, but my princess dream is for Lucien to find out that Azriel said he could easily beat him in a Blood Duel, confront him, and say, "It's out of respect for Elain that I don't burn your wings to dust."

Forgive me, Azriel, I love you and I'm looking forward to your version of the story with the woman who made you feel something of secret and enchanting beauty spark in your chest, but you deserve a scolding like that.

You are strong, but the one who came out of the war without a scratch was Lucien. When Elain was transformed into a Fae, he was the one who broke the power of the King of Hybern to get to her. He was the one who most respected his partner's space and didn't tell the girl to her face that trying to kiss her was a mistake.

So yes, I love Azriel, but if Lucien miraculously decides to accept this Blood Duel bullshit, I'll be in the stands cheering for my little fox.

the second Azriel and Gwyn are present on page together, sarah is pointing out how they respond to each other. she continues to do it through the whole book.

these two orbit each other in ways the other characters just don’t. every time one of them does something even mildly significant while the other is around, Sara takes out her big red writers arrow and goes “look! Theyre watching each other! They noticed!!”

I don’t understand the purpose of that at all if it’s not supposed to be tying the two characters together. It doesn’t add anything to the plot of acosf to know that azriel is listening to gwyn from the other side of the training ring. Or to know that Gwyn looks to Azriel when she’s unsure of the answer to a question.

This is subtle romantic foreshadowing and my mind cannot be changed on that sorry

there is absolutely no reason for these characters to be so aware of and in tune with each other if not for romantic foreshadowing

same with elain and lucien

ever since CHD I’ve been seeing a lot of people say that they think elain and azriel will be a thing for a bit and then realize that they don’t work and go their separate ways

imo, if elain respects herself even a smidge, she should not even entertain the idea of being with azriel

even if we completely ignore everything about gwyn in the BC, why on earth would elain want to be with someone that called their almost-kiss/late night meeting a mistake

if i were elain, I would not touch azriel with a 10 foot pole (which she basically doesn’t for the remainder of acosf anyways)

to everyone that believes Goodreads when they say the fourth Empyrean book will release in Jan. 2026

first of all, Rebecca herself said no - she hasn’t even started drafting this book I’m pretty sure (could be wrong about that)

she is contractually obligated to release a contemporary before Empyrean 4, and she has also said she’ll be taking it much slower for her own mental health and to be with her family

of course, it’s exciting to think of it releasing sooner and we all want it sooner, but please let this lady breathe and be patient - we don’t want this to end up like acotar with no news/communication for years 😅

just thinking about bombshell Azriel. Entering the villa, making everyone turn their heads. His eyes are immediately set onto you. During the challenge, he kissed you first, then came BACK around to finish off with you.

Slept alone that night, but made sure to give you a forehead kiss goodnight. He wants you and your couple to know that you are definitely on his radar. That morning, you best believe he was in the kitchen. Talking it up with the guys, "no hard feelings man, we're all here to make connections." is what he told your couple. Served you a plate of pancakes (fully cooked) with some coffee.

Now chatting it up, hes pulled you like 7 different times just to have your undivided attention. Talked with other girls, but wasn't feeling it like he was with you. No kisses though the day, no he's saving that for tonight at the fire pit.

Its now his time to shine, he gets to pick his lucky girl. Called your name so sweetly that bees probably buzzed around minuets after. Swept you off your feet when you walked up to him, literally, that man was doing the most. gave you a sweet kiss to the lips then set you down. has a shit eating grin as he sits next to you on the couch, watching as your used-to-be man now being booted off the island.

This is my brainrot from watching wayyy too much love island! This new season has me tweaking, and not in a good way. anyways bombshell azriel lives rent free in my head. give a piece of that man. not proofread, will probably write more about this man.

Onyx Storm ending spoilers ahead…

please tell me that I’m not the only one that will throw a fit if the fourth empyrean book isn’t a genuine dual pov between Violet and Xaden

I can’t be the only one that thought that Onyx Storm suffered because of the lack of Xaden’s pov. Now that he and Violet are likely not going to be in the same location for the majority, if not all, of the next book (and our boy was SCHEMING before he left), I feel like the readers NEED to have his pov to fully understand the story

there’s a good chance that they’ll interact in their dreams but I don’t think that’s going to be enough

also, it’s worth it to admit that I don’t think Rebecca will give us a genuine dual pov, but I think she should

I always see people talking about how Azriel’s book is going to be the freakiest because Azriel is the freakiest, and while I could see this being the case, I personally feel like a Gwynriel book would/should have two very important, detailed, and meaningful ✨spicy✨ scenes.

1. The first real “big” scene shows Azriel completely in control. I think a big part of Gwyn’s story and her healing would be learning that sex is pleasurable and that she can trust her partner to take care of her instead of take advantage of her. It will also be important for Azriel to realize that he (and specifically his hands) can be used to make someone he cares about feel good instead of them being something to be ashamed of.

2. This would come later in the book, but there should be a scene where Gwyn is completely in control, at least for part of it. Azriel is likely a control freak given his past and he has an aversion to letting people see past his walls. Part of his healing is going to be learning that not everyone who touches him wishes him harm, that he can let go and find pleasure in the control of someone else. For Gwyn, I think it will be just as important for her to give up control as it will be for her to take back her agency and be in charge, again, at least for a little bit.

There could be other, shorter, less detailed scenes sprinkled throughout, but this is genuinely what I would want to see from Azriel’s (specifically Gwynriel’s book).

Elucien though…they can be as nasty as they want as often as they want they can have more detailed scenes

Honestly i feel like bodhi is not getting the appreciation he deserves from xaden. Like please just give me a moment where xaden actually acknowledges how loyal and supportive his cousin has been.
