It's really going down. (Link in bio.) Hey y'all, So, I, Joshua John Hargett have decided to do something insane. I’m going to run the NYC Marathon. That’s right, the guy who never liked running in his entire life is training to run a number of miles in a single race that is, frankly, stupid. There are a few reasons why I am doing this but I’ll bore you with two. Firstly, at the age of 32 I want to challenge myself in a way that I never have. I’ve spent the majority of my life in a very relaxed and comfortable state. While this has had both positive and negative consequences, I would like to break out of that mold in an effort to be a more assertive individual. Secondly, embarking on this journey requires me to something for people other than myself and this is where y’all come in. In order to complete my entry into the marathon, I need help in raising money for the New York Road Runners Team for Kids initiative. All funds raised in this campaign will be transferred to TFK in full in support of NYRR Youth Programs. These programs bring free running and fitness events to students across the country through school-based initiatives, free youth events, and a collection of digital resources. If we’re lucky enough to collect any money beyond this initial goal, I will make sure to donate those funds to a local Staten Island, NY charity or business that needs our help. The decision of which charity or business will be a group effort if we’re lucky enough to presented with that decision. I thank you for any all help you may provide. And just think, you’ll get to see me physically and mentally humbled beyond belief around mile 22. That’ll be enjoyable for everyone except me.
