Just me and a few thousand of my closest friends starting their morning right with a 15 mile marathon training run.
84 days until the marathon. I’ve got this.

I finished my first 5K race this weekend after finishing the Couch to 5K program! I finished in 34:57, which included a moment of slapstick comedy as I tripped over a loose plank on the beach boardwalk and went sprawling across the ground. I'm really thrilled with my time and the results of the training program! I've lost 16 pounds in the 10 or so weeks since I started. I'm pumped to keep going :) I'm in the white shirt with the three friends that ran with me 💖
4.0 miles this morning and 400 miles on these bad boys. My feet are slowly starting to peak out, just noticed that this morning. Maybe I should buy a new pair. Maybe I'll even try a new sneaker.... But probably not.
Didn't move for another 20 minutes or so. 12 Mile Marathon Training Run that was far too warm and, when combined with the Springsteen concert the night before, maybe not the best idea. Paced just under 11 min miles, which was better than I expected. Only fully stopped once, and that was to watch the first men's finisher fly by to the finish line (5 min miles!).
Nike Benchmark run (7 minute warm up, 3 minute all out, 5 minute cool down). I’ve been sick the last two days, so this morning I really gave it everything during my 3 minutes, such that I could barely breathe by the end. But damn, look at that number. I am so proud of that pace.
This is why I run.
All that's left of the crazy spring nor'easter. I tried for a 9:30 pace (since I did just under 10:20 for my 8 miles) but failed. Fell hard in mile 2 but was pretty happy with just under 10 for the full 3 miles. I know I'm not the fastest nor was this the longest run, but I still try to give it my all.
Gorgeous run, but not the easiest. Today is a heatwave, hitting 31° on my run this morning. The run this past weekend got cancelled due to the low temperature (high of 8°, negative with wind chill).
5K completed.
