Regarding the Namjoon and Hoseok situation:

It is natural for ARMYs—especially women in the fandom—to feel a bit disappointed. After all the lyrics defending women, the reading of books on feminist perspectives and the advocacy for rights and awards and speaches about it, it all feels like it was just thrown out the window. The fact they flew out to attend Chris Brown's concert is bad enough; add to that the way they acted—treating him like the greatest artist in the world while *knowing* his entire history of violence, makes it even worse. They even took photos with him and went so far as to say it was an honor to meet him. As a woman—and as a human being who has experienced harassment—I believe that while the guys didn't act out of malice (I truly believe they didn't), their actions were unnecessary. They were disrespectful to their fanbase, 90% of which is made up of women. But it is easy to support a cause when it suits you and abandon it when it is convenient. It is very sad, but we have to realize more and more that, at the end of the day, they are men; they won't fully grasp the implications of this situation because it is something they have never had to experience firsthand.

what are your thoughts on the whole ongoing Hobi, Joonie and CB situation :((

I'm honestly so disappointed. I've done my best to avoid any discourse about this on social media because I already know where I stand and I don't need validation elsewhere. And as much as I'm open for other perspectives — this is not one of those times. I'd like to start off by saying that I will not coddle grown men. Anyone who proposes the idea of them "not being aware" of Chris Brown's previous crimes, is laughable. His history is one Google search away and if they can't even do that then I fear for them. Attending his concert, taking pictures with the man himself — that comes off as ignorance to me. They are not oblivious, they simply do not care enough. And I believe the reason that they don't care can be tied to the fact that a scary amount of their fans don't either. Women have always been and are still an oppressed group. Globally, one in three women experience domestic violence during their lifetime. Going through something like that ruins your life — meanwhile the abusers themselves are let off the hook — by other women in many instances! Supporting someone like Chris Brown, who contributes to these dark numbers, is vile and it's not something I stand behind. I'd like to make a point of saying that Namjoon and Hoseok attending a concert does not erase everything else they've done. @koosette explained this very perfectly in her post and I recommend you to read it. BTS as a group has done so much good for millions of people, that's not something that should be eliminated because of this. Does that mean they shouldn't be criticised? Absolutely not, they deserve all the criticism. However, the way in which you go about it matters. Blatant hate, black oceans, booing at concerts will bring nothing good to anyone — least of all the fans who are actual victims of these horrible crimes. Not only does BTS have such a large fanbase that exists of primarily women — their music has allowed people to connect, find comfort and reprieve from the hardships of life. If the values and morals they've expressed over and over mean anything to them, then that needs to be shown through accountability. This doesn't mean that I hate BTS. I don't believe that they agree with the things Chris Brown has done simply because they attended a concert. But I believe that the posts made were extremely distasteful, insensitive and ignorant — and I do not agree with them nor their support of a man with a record of abusing women. I do hope that both of them speak up on this, apologise to those who were hurt, reflect on their own ignorance and do better in the future.

i find it difficult to believe that they know enough about him to actively listen to his music, attend his concert and interact with him publicly, but somehow know nothing about the things that have been publicly associated with his name for years. i don’t think being korean has anything to do with whether they could have heard about it. this is information that exists everywhere, and they’re some of the most famous people in the world. BTS have spent years talking about self-worth, loving yourself, respecting yourself and becoming comfortable with who you are. they’ve built a huge connection with women in particular, including women who have experienced abuse and found some sense of comfort or safety in their music. so when they repeatedly associate themselves with people or companies that make those same fans uncomfortable, i don’t think it’s unreasonable for there to be emotional conflict there.

i don’t expect them to be perfect, and i don’t think being a fan means expecting them to make every decision according to my own morals. they’re adults. they’re allowed to have fun, make mistakes, change their minds and make choices i wouldn’t make. but they’re also public figures who have spent years building a certain image and speaking about certain values, and i think it’s fair for us to notice when their actions don’t seem to line up with those things anymore.

i’m not suddenly going to pretend i don’t love them or that everything they’ve meant to me has disappeared. sometimes the people you admire will make choices you don’t understand or agree with. you can still care about them and admit that something doesn’t sit right with you.

BTS rejecting a category that was supposedly made for them is honestly the most elegant “fuck you” imaginable. They didn’t spend years breaking barriers, changing the industry, and proving their global impact just to be placed in a separate little box. The message is clear: they don’t want a shortcut, a consolation prize, or a category created to make people feel like they’re being included. They want the same respect, the same recognition, and the same opportunities as everyone else. Scammys really need to understand that representation isn’t about creating a smaller table for artists to sit at. It’s about opening the fucking door.

-> Super shy in the beggining, very observant until he has total comfort with his partner;
