This is maybe my favourite Mako line ever... he finally put it into words like that, and there's so many layers here.
Because even in this same comic, Mako is still being such a good protector to those in need, and it feels so natural for him. When lost children needed protection, Mako stepped in as someone to rely on with such maturity and gentleness. Those moments come from him having connected and accepted his own past as a vulnerable child. He has re-integrated his own emotional needs in those moments, so it's not about fully denying that he is a protector and good at it.
It's that Mako was forced to take on that role from too early an age, to the point of self-compromising completely, leading to a compulsive tendency to overprotect, which has come up in his relationships with peers a lot (namely Bolin, Korra and Asami). Mako doesn't have to stop giving protection, but he needs to connect with his own emotions as well.
Also, my boy is literally in tears. I think it's the only time we've seen tears from Mako! He needs a full breakdown sobbing session and let all that out, you can't convince me otherwise.
hi love!! Angst prompt with Peter ââ I just want to see you smile again. ââ where after everything thatâs happened Peter has become cold and emotionless, and reader tries everything to make him happy but one day he snaps at reader and realises what heâs done??
heâs lost so much at his age. usually kids have decades with their parents to make memories that will last a lifetime. but not peter. everyone has been taken away from him. his parents, ben, tony, may, ned, mj⊠everyone he loved and cared about, gone. all he could feel was grief.
he would go to peter panâs donut shop just to sit and watch as his friends lived their day to day lives without him. he always ordered a small coffee and would linger in the shop until his drink was too cold to enjoy. peter thought it would make him feel better to at least see his friends, or maybe talk to mj for a few moments while he ordered. but she caught on to his daily routine and started having his small coffee ready for him before he could have the chance to talk to her, cutting out the need for conversation. then heâd walk home with his head hanging low and his heart tearing to pieces all over again. as much as peter loved seeing his friends, he still felt empty in their presence. and it became too much to bear, so he stopped going.
the loss was affecting every aspect of his life, especially school. his locker had been assigned to someone else. another student sat in his usual seat, making him resort to one at the back of the class. even flash stopped bothering him. perhaps there was a plus side to this curse. he sat alone at the lunch table, if he even made it to lunch. heâd usually find an empty classroom and wait until the period ended before heading to his next class.
he broke down one day. a teacher heard him sobbing as she walked by the empty room he was finding refuge in. peter didnât bother to try and suppress his emotions, not even when he had been caught. he was grateful that he was sent to the guidance counselor, where he cried until he couldnât anymore. the school offered to call someone for him, which made him feel like a kid again, waiting for his aunt to pick him when he felt sick. out of habit he started reciting mayâs number, but gave up halfway through. peter wiped his eyes and thanked the counselor for the much needed therapy before walking out. he dropped out that day.
if peter was honest he didnât have a plan. he was an orphan now, and had lost access to mayâs apartment after she died. he had no money, but luckily section 8 was covering the rent for his new place and gave him food stamps. he had no desire to go to MIT anymore. he didnât want to bump into ned and mj at school and pretend it was the first time they were meeting. he couldnât act as if they didnât have years of memories together. he didnât even patrol anymore. his other life was the reason he lost everything in the first place.
as the weeks went by he couldnât feel anything anymore. no heartache, no grief, no pain. how could he be sad that he lost his loved ones when they never knew he existed?
through it all he almost forgot that he had a girlfriend. one that was still around, still remembered him and loved him. but she wasnât enough, no matter how much peter wanted her to be. when they werenât together she would call and text throughout the day to check on him, but peter could never bring himself to respond. she lost track of how many times her messages went unanswered. on the days she didnât work she would stay with peter and help as much as she could. his apartment could never stay clean, despite his lack of energy to get out of bed most days, so she would tidy the place up and cook for him often. peter didnât ask her to clean up his mess for him, but she didnât mind. she knew he needed the help. it was a routine for her now; come over, clean, cook and lay with him until it was time to retreat back to her place. peter felt selfish that he was so useless his girlfriend had to take care of him. he was grateful, nonetheless. he appreciated her efforts to cheer him up, but nothing could make up for what he had lost. y/n allowed peter some time to feel his losses, but she was determined to get him back on his feet.
she successfully got him out of the small apartment and into the real world. he was hit with a cold gust of wind and it woke him up. he felt like he had been sleeping, functioning on autopilot for the lastâŠhe wasnât sure how long. she didnât want to push him too hard so they just walked around the block a few times. christmas was coming in two weeks. decorations were displayed on every window and peter took his time looking at every one of them. for a moment everything felt normal. it was nice to go outside. with her small victory y/n decided to push a bit more, getting peter to start cooking and cleaning for himself again. itâs the small things that matter.
peter started saying âi love youâ again. he never lost his feelings for her, he was just too clouded in his own despair to feel anything else.
today was a particularly hard day for him. it was a few days before christmas and he had no family to spend in with. he had her of course, but without may the holiday felt pointless.
âletâs go see the tree tonightâ, she offers. it was one of peterâs favorite parts about the holiday season. the whole idea was kind of ridiculous- freezing his ass off to look at a tree⊠there was something charming about it, though.
peter shakes his head. âi donât know. iâm not really feeling up to it right nowâ, he admits. like every day for the last few weeks all he wanted to do was lay in bed.
y/n sits up on the bed and faces him, âoh come on, you love going to see the tree! we can even get hot chocolate on the way to keep us warmâ. she knows it will be good for him get out of the apartment again, especially to see the tree she knows he loves so much.
peter glances at her. âi said i donât want toâ, he deadpans. y/n reaches for his hand, but peter twists it out of her hold. he just wanted to be left alone.
âpeterâ, her voice is soft, sheâs hurt. he ignores her, getting up and walking aimlessly into his small kitchen. y/n is slow to get up, but she follows him. âdid i do something?â, she asks hesitantly. peter sucks his teeth and curses under his breath.
âcan you just get away from me?â. his blood is boiling and he doesnât have enough self control to realize heâs being irrational. she stops in her tracks, not wanting to upset him further by getting too close.
âwhatever i did, iâm sorryâ. her voice is quiet, sheâs almost afraid of him. âwe donât have to go. i offered because i just want to see you smile againâ, she sighs defeatedly. y/n knew it would take some time for him to adjust to his new life, but she didnât realize just how empty he had been feeling despite her efforts to help.
peter lets out a laugh, the first one heâs had in a long time. itâs a ridiculous request. âwhat the fuck do i have to smile about?â. she flinches at his harsh tone. peter has never cursed directly at her before. if they ever got into an argument he would always cautious to treat her with respect, no matter the circumstance.
âplease donât raise your voice at meâ. her bottom lip wobbles. âi want you to be okayâ, she whispers.
peter furrows his brows. âbe okay? how can i possibly be okay?â. the boy is yelling now, with no regard for how loud heâs being. y/n canât help but fear what the neighbors might think. âcanât you see how shitty my life is?!â. the veins along his arms protrude as he squeezes his fists. peter isn't much of a screamer, voice already strained.
she cries. âiâm just trying to helpâ. everything she had done for him was out of love. he needs someone to show him he hasn't been forgotten. peter's just too stubborn to realize it.
âwhat could you possibly help me with? bringing back my dead parents? how about tony? may?â. peter doesnât let up, even as y/n begins to beg for him to lower his voice. âwhy donât you tell my best friends that i had a wizard cast a magical spell to make everyone forget about me!?â. she cowers back. she couldnât believe what was happening.
surely peter was going to come to his senses. he didnât really mean to take this out on her, right?
peter takes a deep breath and runs his hand over his face. for a few moments itâs quiet. peterâs chest rises and falls quickly from his adrenaline. he fills a glass with water and gulps down most of it to soothe the burning sensation in his throat. y/n is relieved peter had stopped yelling. she didnât know how much more she could take.
âyou know what? why donât you do me a favorâŠâ, peter starts. it gives her chills at how calm he is compared to a few moments ago. he sets the glass on the counter before speaking again. âget the hell out and forget about me. just like everyone elseâ. his tone is cold and it pierces through her harder than his previous one.
y/n canât begin to fathom what peter is thinking. her only intention is to make peter feel whole again. she knows it wonât be an easy journey, but itâs one she is willing to take with him. y/n knows peter has tried his best to move on with his life and sheâs proud of him for being so strong. sheâll wait forever if thatâs how long it takes. and although it breaks her heart to hear peterâs demand, she doesnât fight him. if he needs to push her away in order to find himself then sheâll let him. she canât blame him. thereâs no right way to heal.
âif thatâs what you wantâ, she whispers. tears slip past her cheeks as she silently starts to collect her belongings. if he wants her to truly feel like he doesnât exist she needs to make sure there isnât a trace of her left behind.
peter grips the edge of the counter. it was so odd to suddenly feel so angry after weeks of feeling nothing. he should feel guilt and shame, but all he feels is rage. he doesnât stop her when she puts her coat on and even averts his gaze as she walks by him. y/n bites the inside of her cheek to suppress a sob as turns the bronze handle. she steps out into the hallway, resisting the urge to look at him one last time. she wants to say she loves him, but even that is too painful.
before she can fully close the door, peter grips the half empty glass of water and throws it against the wall. the force shatters the glass into thousands of microscopic pieces. her instincts almost make her run back into the apartment, but she stands in the hallway. frozen. unable to do anything except replay his verbal assault in her head.
she doesnât know what this means for them. y/n has hope that he still loves her and that he was just saying things out of anger, not genuinely meaning his request to forget about him. still, she didnât deserve it. she understands heâs in pain, but it will take a lot of apologizing for her to forgive him. she wonât be able to for a while. peter isnât okay and she has to distance herself from his destructive behavior. so thatâs what she does.
peter canât even bring himself to cry. he doesnât have the energy to scream or break everything in sight, no matter how much his brain is begging for him to. he wants to feel something, anythingâŠbut he canât. peter didnât mean a word he said to her. she was the only person he had left and he had blamed her for all of the shitty things that had happened in his life. it wasnât fair. but he needs to figure things out so he can be a better person. he needs to feel. peter sinks down against the door, letting the weight of his actions sink in. now he had truly lost everyone.
goddd i just want spider-man's identity to be his own worst but new york city's best kept secret. like i want him unthinkingly taking off his mask and like 20 people see, but if you ask them if they did? no they didn't.
the rule is unwritten, but very enforced. like, there are online communities dedicated to erasing any trace of the spread of his identity. a tourist takes a photo of him and posts it online? it's gone in minutes, and people send DMs to the poster anywhere from "hey, i'm sure you were just excited, but...." to "ill kill u if i evr c you, fuckin bitch".
any information on spider-man is only spread via word of mouth, and only spoken in hushed, awed voices. after several years of spider-man, everyone knows someone who encountered him:
"he saved my cousin. caught a falling billboard from underneath with his bare hands..."
"wow... i've never seen him myself, but he talked to my coworker's daughter for an hour after he stopped a guy from getting a little too handsy. apparently, his smile is 'dreamy'."
these secrets are freely given if you're kind, trustworthy, and show respect for the little guy. but the moment you demand information on him... "i don't know what you're talking about, buddy. he's just an urban legend the news likes to blame the city's problems on so we don't unionize or worse"
so as many times as spider-man ends up with out a mask, or accidentally introduces himself with a name that starts with 'p' and rhymes with 'meter'... on the record, they don't know a thing. because he does his best to help as many people as he can, so it's only fair if they help him a little in return.
Summary: When Flashâs birthday comes around, you beg Peterâor rather, Spider-manâto swing by his party, offering a kiss on the cheek for the favor.Â

One of the things you loved the most about Peter was his kindness. It showed in nearly everything he did. When heâd help little old ladies cross the street or when heâd save a kidâs cat from a tree. It was a blessing going on patrol with him because you got to see a side of him that few people got a chance to explore.Â
âYou are too sweet,â Youâd always say, planting a big, wet kiss on his cheek.Â
Peter would always blush and stutter out a âjust doing my jobâ. Heâd never tell you this, but sometimes heâd go out of his way to be extra nice to people when you were around because he knew heâd be in for a big kiss on the cheek.Â

You walk in the cafeteria as you scan the room for your three friends. When you finally spot them, your palms start to get sweaty, you see MJ and Peter sitting together with Ned nowhere to be found.
Peter and you have been friends for a while now and you have successfully developed a crush on him. You couldnât help it, he was always so kind to you and even though you were extremely shy, you felt comfortable around him.
You really didnât want to feel any jealousy towards MJ, she was a good friend of yours after all but you couldnât help as you felt a shiver run down your back when you saw Peter throwing his head back in a laugh when MJ said something. Stop being so dramatic, itâs just a high school crush, youâd tell yourself.
Not wanting to sit there through the pain as Peter giggled about something, you started thinking of turning around and finding some empty classroom to sit in instead. Before you could make up your mind, Ned came up behind you and almost gave you a heart attack.
âHow was your chemistry exam?â He whispered in your ear.
âOh my god,â you gasped as he looked at you with wide eyes.
âDid I freak you out?â Ned smirked, chewing on his Layâs chips.
âYes and stop smirkingâ you laughed at him. Ned nodded as he scanned the room to find MJ and Peter.
âWhy are you standing here?â Ned asked. Before you could answer, he was already clutching your arm and dragging you towards the cafeteria round table, âsee thereâs MJ and Peter.â
You couldnât think of anything to get you out of this situation as Ned rushed you towards your other two friends. As you both reached the table, MJ looked at you,
âHey, we were waiting for youâ she said as she motioned for both of you to sit down.
âHey, Y/Nâ Peter said softly as he bit his lips. You barely nodded your head as Peter frowned.
âHow was your chemistry exam?â MJ asked as she looked at you with raised eyebrows.
âShe doesnât wanna talk about itâ Ned said as he shook his finger from left to right.
âNo?â You pouted at Ned, âit was alrightâ you told MJ with a small smile.
âYou didnât answer me when I asked you that so I thought it went shitâ Ned giggled.
âYou scared me when you came up behind me, I didnât get a chance to answer youâ you said as you smirked at Ned.
âPeter!â MJ shook Peter with a hand on his shoulder which led you and Ned to moving your eyes to him.
Your eyes caught Peterâs eyes when you looked at him as he was already staring at you. You both looked away as soon as your eyes connected, a rosy blush settling on your cheeks.
âY-yes?â Peter mumbled, taking a bite of his sandwich.
âYou look distracted by somethingâ MJ said with a smug look, âor someoneâ
âNo? No, no Iâm not. Noâ Peter said quickly, shaking his head.
âGeez you can say no one time and weâll get itâ Ned laughed.
âAre you sure, Peter?â MJ giggled as she slightly nodded her head towards you. She probably thought you wouldnât notice but you did and that left you confused.
âMJ, pleaseâ Peter whispered, begging with his eyes for MJ to stop whatever she was trying to do.
âOkayâ MJ kept a hand on his shoulder and gave him a shake, âweâre just kiddingâ
Peter looked at you with a worried expression and you frowned, he gave you a nervous smile that sent butterflies up your stomach.
Shake it off, just shake it off, Y/N, itâs not like youâre in love with him anyway.

8:45pm - Ned and Peter
Ned: your so stupid
Peter had no idea what Ned was talking about, he frowned as he typed a reply.
Peter: youâre*
Peter: why am I stupid?
Ned: Y/N thinks you like MJ
Peterâs eyes practically bulged out of their sockets when he read the text.
Peter: WHAT?
Ned: yes, she asked me about you both in English
Peter: WHAT DID SHE SAY?
Ned: that she thinks you both like each other
Peter: WHY WOULD SHE THINK THAT?
Ned: because you both were laughing together and all in cafeteria today
Ned: plus youâre always with MJ so yeah
Peter: wait, did she say that she likes me? Or anything like that?
Ned: no but I think she likes you and she thinks that you like MJ
Peter: TELL ME WHAT SHE SAID EXACTLY
Ned: I JUST TOLD YOU
Peter: okay so, she likes me but she thinks that I like MJ
Ned: dude no, I said I THINK she likes you because she asked about you and MJ
Peter: omg but I donât like MJ, I LIKE Y/N
Ned: yes we all know that but she doesnât so do something about it
Peterâs hands were sweaty. He was dying to tell you how he feels but he was scared of rejection. Knowing that you asked about him gave him hope that maybe, just maybe, you like him too so he quickly texted MJ to make a plan.
9:16pm - MJ and Peter
Peter: Y/N thinks that I like you because weâre always together, HELP
MJ: no offence but you arenât my type
Peter: AND YOU ARENT MINE but thatâs not the point
Peter: she thinks that I like you (which isnât true) and itâll ruin my chances of asking her out!!!
MJ: chances? asking her out? Youâve liked her for idk 7 months and you still havenât asked her out, I donât think youâre losing any chances when you arenât taking any:)
Peter: stop being mean :(
Peter: can you please tell her that I donât like you, I donât want her to have the wrong idea
MJ: what the fuck? No? You should ask her out and sheâll know that you like her and not me. Thatâs the plan
Peter: but
MJ: ??
Peter: im scared :(
MJ: then have fun dying alone as she gets asked out on a date by someone else
Peter: someone else? Is there someone else? WHO IS IT?
MJ: I was just saying but Iâve seen Harry Osborn making eyes at her in history
Peter: NOOOO! Do you think she likes him? Be honest:(
MJ: we donât know but what we do know is that you like her so why donât you just ask her out? Whatâs the worse that can happen?
Peter: she can reject me????
MJ: okay yes but you should just go with it, honestly Iâm tired of seeing you daydream about her, itâs kinda gross. Cute but gross
Peter: okay stop omg!!!!
Peter felt little love bubbles busting is his stomach when he thought about asking you out, taking you to dinner, holding your hand and maybe kissing you if youâd let him. He was determined to ask you out tomorrow, he wasnât going to let this chance go just because he was shy. He gave himself a pep talk about being bold and prepared his speech. He had a plan.
ââââ§â âŠâ â§âââ
Peter didnât have a plan.
He was flustered when he saw you in the hall near your locker. You were just there, opening your locker and keeping your books in and he already felt like he was going to collapse. Sometimes heâd even struggle to get simple words out when he was around you, how can he ever ask you out?
Before he knew what he was doing, his body automatically found its way to you in the crowded corridor.
âHi- heyâ Peter said.
You looked up away from your books and there he was, Peter.
âOh, heyâ you gave him a shy smile.
Peter looked at you in a daze.
âAre you high?â You whispered as you stepped a little closer.
âWhat- what? No!â Peter said as he shook his head.
Your eyes widened as you stepped away a little.
âSorry! Your eyes are l-like dilatedâ you quickly looked away from his face, slightly fidgeting.
âThey always get like that when I look at youâ Peter whispered, your heartbeat skipped when you processed his words.
Your head snapped to Peter and he had his palm covering his mouth in shook, his eyes wide. Before any of you could say anything, the bell went off in the hall signalling for the first period.
âUhâ you gathered your books, shutting your locker, you turned to Peter, âIâll see you laterâ you said, your eyes never met his. You felt too shy.
âYe- yeahâ Peter gave you a sharp nod as he stared at the ground.
You turned around and started walking to your class, too flustered to look back.
ââââ§â âŠâ â§âââ
âI just donât know how to do itâ Peter let out, âI canât do it, Nedâ
âCalm down-â
âI canât!â Peter almost yelled, getting some looks from the other students in chemistry.
âEvery time I look at her, I canât speakâ Peter frowned, his voice lower now.
âOkay, dude, you have to ask her out or sheâll never know that you like herâ Ned said.
âI donât know howâ Peter mumbled, resting his head on top of the table.
Peter felt exhausted. His feelings made him feel overwhelmed. You made him feel overwhelmed.
He liked you. He wanted to tell everyone that, he wanted to tell you, he wanted to scream that from the rooftops. But he couldnât. He hated how all his words turned to mush when you were around, hated how he couldnât express himself.
âYou can write her a letterâ Ned shrugged.
âWhat? Noâ Peter laughed, âIâm not doing thatâ
âThen you can watch from a distance when she becomes someone elseâs girlfriendâ Ned raised his eyebrows at Peter, his tone challenging.
âDonât say thatâ Peter grumbled and Ned didnât say anything.
Peter sat through the entire chemistry class in dread, not listening to a word that fell out of the teacherâs mouth. He was too distracted for chemistry today.

5:18pm - {group chat} 3 losers + mj
Ned: itâs Friday tomorrow
MJ: thanks for letting us know?
Y/N: đ€
Ned: we should go to that new ice cream place
Peter: Near Delmar's?
MJ: Iâve heard they have really good mind chocolate ice cream
Y/N: ice cream in winter?
Ned: itâs autumn right now and they sell it all year round
Y/N: correct
Peter: okay all of us, tomorrow after school??
MJ: no, I canât do straight after school, letâs do it at 5pm?
Ned: yes 5 perfect. Peter? Y/N???
Peter: works for me:)
Y/N: 5 it is then
ââââ§â âŠâ â§âââ
âHey, Peterâ you whispered as you reached the entrance of the ice cream store.
You tugged on your sweater sleeve, a habit you picked on, you did it when you were nervous. The weather was cold, a light breeze in the air. The store wasnât crowded, after all, everyone preferred to stay in their warm house over ice cream as autumn neared itâs end and winter came closer.
Peter turned to you as he heard your soft voice, âhey, I thought youâll be coming with MJâ he asked
You frowned your brows, feeling your heart silently break as he asked about her.
âBecause you stay near each other, not because I care about MJâ Peter said as you remained quiet.
Your frown got deeper and Peter noticed, before you could say anything, Peter spoke up again, âI mean- I care about MJ but like as a friend, I donât like herâ
You slowly nodded, confusion still evident on your face.
âI like her but I donât like her as anything more, weâre friends, I like her as a friendâ Peter quickly shrugged his shoulders.
Peterâs sighed and decided to be honest, âI just meant that I would have come get you if I knew you were going to walk here aloneâ
You bit your lips, looking up at Peter, you noticed he was staring at your lips. You shook your head and said, âWhere is Ned and MJ anyway? Itâs 15 minutes past 5â
âOh yeah, Iâll text Ned and MJâ
âNo, wait!â You quickly said, âI mean, Iâll text MJ, you can text Nedâ
You took out your phone and typed a small âwhere are you?â text.
âWe can go inside and wait for them,â Peter said with a smile, âI uh donât want you to get coldâ he mumbled the last part.
Your cheeks flushed, you softly smiled at him and nodded.
Peter opened the door for you as you walked in. He was close behind you as you both decided to order, âthey are late anyways and arenât even seeing our text so maybe we should just ditch them and get our ice creamâ you said with a giggle and Peter agreed with a laugh.
As you sucked on your plastic spoon, savouring all the delicious bits of your cookie crumb ice cream, Peter looked at you in awe, his cheeks felt warm as he stared at you.
âItâs been 30 minutes and they still havenât texted us back, isnât that shady?â You said, taking the spoon out of your mouth as you narrowed your eyes.
Peter pulled himself out of the daze, âum- yeahâ
You raised your eyebrows at him, âyeah?â
Peter hummed, âI think that, maybe um-â
âWhat is it, Peteâ you leaned on the table, waiting for him to continue.
Peterâs heart fluttered at the nickname you called him. You did it when you were trying to comfort him.
âI think they wanted to just get us aloneâ he said, looking down at the table.
âWhat do you mean?â you nervously laughed, âthey donât have any reason to do thatâ
âI can think of a reasonâ Peter mumbled but you caught on it.
âUm, tell me?â you pursed your lips together.
âI like youâ Peter whispered as he softly played with his lower lip, his eyes staring at the table like itâs the most interesting thing in the world.
You were taken aback by what he said, your body jerked back at the surprise. For a second, you werenât sure if what youâve heard is what he actually said.
âWhat?â You cautiously said, unconsciously leaning closer to Peter.
Peter sucked in air as he prepared his lungs for the speech.
âIâve liked you for a long time now so maybe Ned and MJ wanted to get us alone so I can actually tell you thisâ he furiously nodded his head as he looked at you, your eyes were wide, âfor so long, I think itâs been 7 months now. I mean Iâm not a creep and I swear I wasnât being creepy about it, I just didnât know how to tell you so-â
âBut I thought you like-â
âMJ, yes, I mean no, no I donât like her. I donât like MJ, I hang out with her a lot because weâre friends, yes but also because Iâd always be gushing about you to her-â Peter aggressively rubbed his face, regretting the last sentence.
âPeter-â you started, your body was on fire.
âNo, listen to me, I like you so much and itâs always been you. And I want to spend every moment with you and I want to hold your hand and be able to kiss you- oh god, I want to kiss you so bad-â
âPeterâ you were on your feet now, your hands pressed to his cheeks as you held his face in your warm hands.
You were both hidden in the corner of the store, barely anyone was in the store so it didnât feel awkward when you displaced your affection so openly.
âHiâ Peter whispered as he realised just how close you were.
You giggled, âI-â you gulped, âI like you too, Peteâ
âYou do?â Peterâs mumbled, pulling back a little to see your face, to check if you were joking.
âYes, uh Iâve liked you for a long time tooâ you shyly mumbled.
âCan you say it again?â Peter said as he pulled you to the side of his seat. You both sitting on the same side now.
âI like you, Peterâ Your breath trembled in nervousness, âIâve liked you for a long timeâ you said as you glanced at his lips.
âYou do?â You nodded, âeven after the speech?â You giggled as you nodded again.
âI thought-â Peter was cut off when you pressed your lips to his, you quickly pulled back and touched your lips with your fingers, you were shocked.
âYou kissed meâ Peterâs mumbled, he was nervous as fuck, he swore he was going to pass out.
âIâm sorry-â you quickly let out, anxiety shooting up your nerves.
âNo, I want to kiss you. Can I kiss you?â Peter said, holding your hand in his.
Even though you felt shy, you eagerly nodded, leaning in. Peterâs lips touched yours in an innocent kiss. His lips were cold but oh so soft as they moved against yours.
âYour lips taste like chocolateâ you mumbled against his lips as he smiled.
You kissed him again, pulling him in as you pulled at his midtown hoodie. You liked how his lips felt against yours, it felt like heaven, holding him close felt like heaven and you didnât ever want to let go.
âSo itâs always been me, huh?â You giggled as Peter hid his face in his hands.
ââââ§â âŠâ â§âââ
Everything was great. You felt like you were on cloud nine and Peter felt ecstatic. Itâs been 6 months since you and him got together, you both were still in the honeymoon phase and it looked like it wasnât going away any time soon.
Peter: Iâm out at the front gate
Y/N: Iâm coming.
Y/N: Mr. Lawtonâs keeping us late, sorry:(
Peter: itâs okay, Iâll wait for you
Y/N: <3
You walked out of the school doors after 15 minutes to find Peter waiting for you by the front gates, just like he said he would.
A huge smile comes on your face as you walk up to him and he picks you up in his arms for a hug. You lock your arms around his neck as you kiss his cheek.
After the hug, Peter held your hand as he walked you back to his place. You both spent some quality time together every single week, on Fridays. It was a routine for you now. He unlocked the door to the apartment, telling you that aunt May is out with Happy, âher boyfriend or somethingâ as Peter said.
You took off your denim jacket as you entered his place and he took off his jacket too. You both decided on a movie and some popcorn. As you settled in the couch beside him, he wrapped his arm around you when the movie started.
30 minutes in the movie, your hand found his hand as you tightly held on to it. You sighed in delight when Peter pulled you closer, his lips briefly resting on your cheek. You snuggled your face in the crook of his neck inhaling his cologne.
Even though youâve been with Peter for a long time now, you still felt extremely shy around him sometimes. After you finally built some courage, you pulled back slightly and bought Peterâs face close to you so you could kiss him.
He quickly returned your affection as he slowly picked you up, as to not startle you, and placed you on his lap. His arms were around your waist as yours found their way to his hair.
âOh my god, Iâm- I shouldâve knockedâ
You and Peter flinched at the voice and you almost fell off his lap when you saw who was standing in the doorway.
Aunt May looked at you both, her face held a shocked look which soon turned into a smirk, âare you Y/N?â
âMay! I thought youâll be back by 6, what are you doing here?â Peter almost yelled as he quickly placed you back on the couch and stood up.
âOkay, calm down,â May rolled her eyes, âHappy got a call from work so he said heâll get that done and come over later for dinnerâ
âBut aunt May-â
âYouâre Y/N, right?â May asked again, looking directly at you.
You felt out of place, you gave her a shy smile as you nodded. Your face was red and your hands gripped the material of your jeans nervously.
âSo youâre the girl who is the main topic at our dinner table-â
âPlease stop, May-â
âTrust me, he canât stop talking about you-â
âMay!â
Your chest felt like it was on fire as you heard her words, she was exposing your boyfriend in all the right ways and you secretly loved it.
âYouâre making her nervous!â Peter whisper-yelled as he walked to his aunt.
âAm I making you nervous, honey?â May asked you
âIâm fineâ you said, your voice small as you bit your lip.
âSee, sheâs fine!â May said as she walked to the kitchen.
âAs much as I support this young love, I donât want to be a grandmother right nowâ
âMay!â Peter yelled across the living room as he reached you.
âSo be safe okay? Iâll be here if anything goes the other way but just be safe-â
Your cheeks flushed red as you saw May, her head popped out of the doorway as she peaked in the living room.
âNothingâs going to happen, donât worry!â Peter yelled as he shakes his head, he dragged you to his bedroom.
âYou can shut the door but donât do anything, okay babies?â May said, followed by a laugh.
âOkay, May!â Peter yelled and quickly shut his door.
You sat on his bed, your face as red as the roses he had got you for your birthday last month.
âI. Am. So. Sorr-â
âI love herâ
âWhat?â Peter said as he walked to where you were sitting, he crouched to your level so you were face to face.
âYeah, sheâs really cuteâ you giggled in your hands.
âYeah?â Peterâs eyes soften, a sigh of relief.
âYeahâ you nodded.
Peter held your hands and kissed your knuckles and you kissed his forehead, before you could kiss his lips, the door was pushed open-
âOh, shootâ
May closed the door just as fast as she opened it, her muffled voice came through the door as she said, âI shouldâve knocked, sorry for ruining your romantic moment!â

warnings: none? ig peter with glasses and a little freaking out at the beginning
about: requested! peter meets your family
a/n: thank you so much for requesting!! i hope you like this!
your eye twitched as you stared, hearing the words peter was saying but being unable to process them. this was not as serious as you were making it out to be, you knew that, but dammit, were you still nervous. your fingers were drummed lighty on your thigh, watching peter hunched over his desk, scrawling sentences on his notebook.
ây/n?â peter asked, suddenly at your legs. âare you okay? you kind of spaced out for a second there.â
you let out a long breath, squeezing your eyes shut, âiâm leaving to go visit my family for a weekend, and- i love them so much, but iâm going to miss you, and itâs so many people, iâm just really nervous, i havenât seen my aunt gloria in like four years and my aunt maribel always ambushes me about the boyfriend and the-â
âhey, calm down, itâs- youâre gonna miss me?â peter asked, cutting himself off and you glared at him. âokay, not the point, why are you so nervous about this?â
you shrugged, nuzzling your head into his shoulder when he sat down next to you, âi love them but theyâre just a lot. itâs just-â you sighed, a stray conversation between you and your mother from a few days ago coming back to you. âhey,â you started, lifting your head off of peterâs body. âdo you have plans this weekend? my mom told me to extend an invitation to you if you were free.â
peterâs face lit up, and you relished in the shine in his eyes. âyeah! yeah, iâm free! you really want me to meet your family?â
you sucked in a small breath in remembering that fact but nodded, âyes. i kind of breezed over that fact, which i shouldnât have, but now that i can think about it, i do. iâm so sure theyâre going to love you.â
âi hope they do,â peter said, nerves laced within his voice and you pouted, pressing your lips to his jaw. âthey will. i doubt anyone couldnât.â
peter snorted, âyeah, well ask flash. or the vulture. or-â
âtheyâre literal villains! and flash- theyâll love you, youâll see.â

you were still nervous on the day you left for the huge cabin you and your family would be staying at; although considerably less so with peterâs arm wrapped around you and his lips repeatedly pressing kisses to your cheek in the backseat of your motherâs car. you could practically feel your anxiety melting with each press of his lips against your cheek.
as he rested his head against your shoulders, you twirled his hair around your fingers, appreciating the effect the shower heâd taken hurriedly had had on his hair; leaving it damp and curlier than usual. he was silent for the most part, until he lifted his head and you dropped your hand.
âso, tell me about your family members! what are all their names?â peter requested, and your mother raised an eyebrow, âthatâs going to take a lot longer than this trip.â
you nodded, âsheâs right, itâs better if i just introduce them to you when we get there.â
you whisper now, âi will tell you that my aunt lauren- really skinny and small- will ask you if youâre a secret superhero. she doesnât know anything, she asks everyone that, donât panic.
âi have a bajillion little cousins that will be all over you, so hopefully you donât get too annoyed by children. my uncle carlos will clap you really hard on the back, my aunt lola likes to be called lolita and will bake you too many cookies to eat. please eat them even if you hate them, sheâs just trying to make everyone happy.â
peter is nodding along, as focused as youâve seen him in class. âshe sounds sweet, and i doubt iâll have any problems with your uncle carlos, seeing as iâm spider-man and all.â
you laugh softly, rolling your eyes. âyes, well, letâs see how well spider-man can handle twenty or so relatives throwing themselves at him.â
-
you almost feel dumb for stressing out so much about the event while you watch peter interact with your family- key word almost, when you notice the pleading look heâs sending you while being trapped in your grandmotherâs embrace. you walk over to him at once, tapping your grandmotherâs shoulder lightly, âgrandma? pete needs to breathe,â you point out, and she pulls away, âoh, iâm sorry!â she exclaims, patting him on the cheek, âi have to attend to rosaâs mess of a dinner in the kitchen, it was nice to meet you,â she tells peter. he nods, and your grandma begins to walk away, stopping next to you. âheâs so cute,â she whispers to you, but, of course, peter catches it and beams.
your grandmother strokes your cheek before slapping it gently as a form of goodbye, walking away.
âthey do like me!â peter whispers excitedly, and you smile at him, grabbing his hand, âof course they do, but these are the easy ones.â he tilts his head at you, looking so much like a puppy that you nearly coo. âwhat do you mean?â he asks, and you tug him by the hand, heading to another room.
you bite your lip, âmy cousins. the first boyfriend i brought here, they told me they didnât like him, and two months later, i found out he cheated. itâs happened two times, theyâre, like, psychic.â
âthis is making me nervous,â peter mumbled, drawing small circles on your hand. humming, you turn to him, promising your next words, âyouâre going to be fine, youâll see.â
you kiss his nose and give his hand a squeeze, âtheyâre just little kids.â
you open the door, âwith surprising intuitive abilities,â you mutter before your favorite little cousin spots and immediately runs to you. ây/n!â she screams, and you grin, bending down to her level and picking her up. âhi, kami!â you greet, kissing her cheek, and she giggles. she pauses for a second, squinting at peter standing behind you. âwhoâs this?â she asks, and you turn slightly, âthis is peter, heâs my boyfriend.â
peter extends his hand to her with a dorky smile, and she looks at him for a moment before taking it.
other small people are beginning to crowd around you, and you put kamila down, gasping at all the barbies being shown to you and eventually being directed to sit down at a chair, nodding along to an explanation of a video game youâd seen peter play before.
after a little while, diego is distracted enough for you to be able to look up and see peter, in his absolute element, playing with kamila, liam, and veronica. heâs smiling, watching kamila color with veronica in his lap. liam is poking at his arm, directing his attention to the tablet in his chubby hands. veronica swipes at peterâs glasses, which sit perched on his nose.
with brown curls falling over his forehead, black rimmed glasses on his face, and surrounded by your little cousins, you can feel yourself falling even deeper for him, because how can you not? how can you not love the boy who is sitting in a cabin with your family, entertaining the cousins you love?
before you can freak out properly, you are pulled away by kamila, who has appeared by your side and instructs you to play in the play kitchen with her.
not five minutes after, while you are in the middle of making a fake salad, peter appears beside you, offering his help to kamila. he gets right to work, turning the knobs on the plastic kitchen, and he turns to you and mouths trophy husband with a goofy smile.
seeing him mixing a bowl of plastic food, youâre reminded of the alarming realization of just how in love you are with peter parker.
