@johananalisis
this is making me emotional
Rating band names based on their accuracy:
(I keep updating this list so check back later)
The Beatles: 3/10. None of these people are beetles, they’re just a bunch of fruity guys from Liverpool with matching haircuts
(Edit: changed from 0/10 to 3/10 because John Lennon beat his wife)
Pink Floyd: 4/10. There is not a single person named Floyd in the band, but some of the members do arguably look kinda pink
Nirvana: 10/10. Getting high and listening to Nirvana is roughly what I imagine actual nirvana to be like
Foo Fighters: either 0/10 or 10/10. I have never seen foo in real life so either they’re pretending to fight a problem that doesn’t exist or they’re doing an absolutely fantastic job of fighting it
The Eagles: 0/10. Same as the Beatles, there is not a single eagle in this band. The name is misleading and we have all been lied to
Queen: 6/10. Partial points for Freddie Mercury
Led Zeppelin: 0/10. I don’t think any of these guys have ever even seen a zeppelin, let alone one made of lead. A lead balloon would crash faster than my hopes and dreams
The Rolling Stones: 3/10. There is not a single stone in this band. Some points added because I’m pretty sure they rolled quite a few
U2: 0/10. Despite what the name says, I am not a member of this band
Metallica: 9/10. Naming a metal band “Metallica” is like naming your dog “doggy”
Red Hot Chili Peppers: 2/10. These guys are not chili peppers. They’re not even that hot, let alone red hot
Guns N’ Roses: 0/10. How the fuck could a gun or a flower play music
Backstreet Boys: ?/10. Depends entirely on their current given location
Simon and Garfunkel: 10/10. No notes
The Doors: 1/10. Jim Morrison is kinda shaped like a door tho
Chicago: 4/10. The number of people in this band does not come even remotely close to the population of Chicago. Points added because it originated in Chicago
Earth, wind, and fire: 2/10. This is even more innacurate than Chicago. Points added because wind instruments were often used
Def Leppard: 3/10. There is not a single leopard in this band. Some of the members are probably kinda deaf by now tho
The Beach Boys: ?/10. Accuracy depends entirely on location
The Black Eyed Peas: 6/10. Not sure what the hell an ‘eyed pea’ is but the black part is pretty accurate
Imagine Dragons: ?/10. Depends entirely on whether or not they’re thinking about dragons.
Cage the Elephant: 1/10. Why would you do that. Let the elephant go
Green Day: 0/10. They’re not even green
The Police: 0/10. There is not a single cop in this band
KISS: 5/10. I’m sure they probably kissed sometimes
The Monkees: 0/10. Are you fucking kidding me
We Butter the Bread with Butter: 8/10. I can’t verify this but I have no reason to suspect that they’d lie. Butter seems like the most logical thing to butter bread with
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard: 0/10. I got really excited about the concept of a lizard wizard only to be let down. My disappointment is immeasurable
They Might Be Giants: 5/10. I googled everyone in this band’s height, the tallest guy’s only 6’1 so I wouldn’t exactly consider him a giant. Then again, I can’t really argue because the claim was only that they MIGHT be giants
The Presidents of the United States of America: 2/10. None of these people are Joe Biden nor are any of them former presidents. This is incredibly misleading. I’m pretty sure “Lump” was written about my first girlfriend tho so I’ll give them a point or two
Gorillaz: 2/10 Not quite but we’re kinda close genetically so I’ll give them partial credit
The Killers: ?/10. I have no way of verifying if they’ve actually killed before but the fact that they’re not in prison tells me probably not
The Offspring: 10/10. These guys are definitely somebody’s offspring
Arctic Monkeys: 1/10. They are neither monkeys nor are they from the arctic
Thirty Seconds to Mars: 1/10. It takes WAY longer to get to mars than that
Beastie Boys: 8/10. They’re pretty beast on the guitar
Jimmy Eat World: 1/10. Slow the fuck down Jimmy, you’re biting off way more than you can chew
Hole: 9/10. One point deducted because I’m pretty sure they had more than one hole
Rage Against the Machine: 10/10. They did exactly that
Alice In Chains: 0/10. This is illegal. Let Alice go
The Band: 10/10. This could not possibly be more accurate
Nine Inch Nails: 1/10. I can’t find any good pictures of their feet but from what I can tell their fingernails definitely aren’t nine inches long
Bush: ?/10. Not quite sure about this one, felt uncomfortable asking
The Who: 2/10. I’m not dealing with this “Who’s On First” bullshit
Radiohead: 0/10. Not a single person in this band has a radio for a head
Queens of the Stone Age: 0/10. This band should be called “five random dudes from the modern era” but FRDFTMA is a bit of a mouthful
Soundgarden: 2/10. Sound does not grow in the garden
Sonic Youth: 5/10. They’re not exactly youth anymore but the sonic part checks out
Talking heads: 8/10. There’s more to the band than just a bunch of disembodied heads but the heads do tend to talk
The Cranberries: 0/10. Decent music but I only added them so that the Beatles and Freddie Mercury weren’t the only fruits on this list
The Wiggles: 8/10. They do tend to wiggle a lot
Blue Man Group: 10/10. Yep!
Weezer: 5/10. They all look like they definitely have asthma
Limp Bizkit: 3/10. While the visual image of baked goods playing the guitar is hilarious, Fred durst is not a biscuit. Points added because he probably has erectile dysfunction
Stone Temple Pilots: 0/10. None of these people are accredited as being licensed to pilot anything, much less an entire stone temple. Stone temples don’t need pilots anyways
Wasted Youth: 8/10. I guess it really kinda depends on how you frame it but yeah, they probably wasted a lot of it
Them Crooked Vultures: 3/10. These are people and not birds but Dave Grohl’s posture is kinda bad and John Paul Jones is so old that his neck kinda looks like a vulture’s so I added some points
Audioslave: 0/10. Slavery is illegal
Traveling Wilburys: 4/10. Sure, they traveled a lot but not a single one of those lying bastards was named Wilbury
D12: 6/12. There were only 6 people in this band
NWA: 10/10. I’m a little too white to safely comment on this one but I’d say they nailed it
Jet: 1/10. A real jet would be way too loud
Goldfinger: 0/10. Not a single person in this band has a finger made out of gold
No Doubt: ?/10. I can’t really be too sure how Gwen Stefani felt but I think it’s probably a safe assumption that she had some doubts
The White Stripes: 3/10. I bet if you stripped them down naked and made them stand shoulder to shoulder and squinted really hard they’d probably look more like white stripes
Screaming trees: 3/10. They scream occasionally
Garbage: 2/10. I think they’re being a little harsh on themselves, their music isn’t THAT bad
Butthole Surfers: 5/10. Not even gonna touch this one
Megadeth: 3/10. To be fair, some of the former members are dead but only a little amount of death, not mega death
Dead Kennedys: 2/10. Last I checked Kennedy was still dead but neither he nor his clones are members of this band
Cake: 0/10. The cake is a lie
Cracker: 8/10. Most of them are
Tool: 7/10. I don’t know much about their music but they sure look like tools
Counting Crows: ?/10. Is this what emo kids do instead of counting sheep? Accuracy depends on whatever bird they happen to be counting at the moment
Dave Matthews Band: 10/10. It certainly is
Oasis: 1/10. Their music is the opposite of an oasis
Blur: 2/10. They are not that fast
Barenaked Ladies: 0/10. If I wanted to be this disappointed I’d reestablish a connection with my biological father instead
Meat Puppets: 10/10. Technically, aren’t we all?
Live: 8/10. Apparently they still do live shows but I deducted some points because I’ve only ever heard their music on Spotify
ABBA: 9/10. I’m still not giving any points to Guns N’ Roses but that’s mostly out of spite
5 Finger Death Punch: 8/10 I guess it probably depends on how hard you hit them but this seems to be the usual amount of fingers to punch somebody with
All American Rejects: 9/10. They’re all rejects from America so I don’t really see any issue with this
T. Rex: 0/10. Even if any of these people WAS a T. Rex I don’t think their arms would be long enough to play their instruments
Free: 0/10. Unless you steal their music, in which case it becomes a 10/10
The Strokes: 3/10. To my knowledge, none of them have had a stroke but I still added a few points because the name was probably accurate for other reasons
The Smashing Pumpkins ?/10. Another thing I have no way of verifying but this seems like a waste of perfectly good pumpkins
Therapy?: ?/10. The hell are they asking me for? I don’t know their medical history
Twenty One Pilots. 0/10. There’s only two of them and neither is a licensed pilot
Finger Eleven: 0/10. Leave the poor Stranger Things girl out of this
Fall Out Boy: 9/10. I conferred with an expert on this one who confirmed that they are in fact boys who had a falling out
Cream: 8/10. Considering this was the OG supergroup I’m sure a lot of people did in fact cream when their music came out
“He just really likes manga...”
-----Ayashimon spoilers----- (edit: it got cancelled after 25 ch, read with caution)
The manga has developed enough so that I can finally write and form an actual opinion.
The manga is great, I really enjoy Yuji Kaku sensei’s works and this one is definitely a recommendation.
I have to admit that I do not like the overpowered mc that never loses, but Maruo is something different. He likes to fight and is obsessed with manga, which also brings a bit of humour into the story.
We are slowly getting insight into Maruou’s past and now finally understand his obsession with manga and never wanting to lose. I appreciate how he does not win just any fights, and even the ones he does, are not due to his pure strenght but a clever plan. He is also extremely dedicated to his “elder sister” or Urara.
His fight style is great, he is always enjoying himself and takes the fights very seriously, plus he fights till the end, till he cannot stand anymore.
The backstory pannels of Maruo are the key to understand and appreciate his development as a character. In the flashbacks, we can see him being gravely abused. I would assume that this is where the idea of wanting to be a mc comes from. He has this idea of not wanting to lose. He was a loser his whole childhood, against, what I would presume was his father.
He found hope in mangas and strong mcs, where they did not lose. He did not like them because they were cool, friendly, good or anything, but they never lost. He also stated himself that is not that he wants to win, simply just not to lose.
I appreciate the world-building and the relationships between all three main characters.
I have high expectations for the manga, surely they will be met.
But what is God?
...Spoilers for Fire Force ch 287...
I have been following Fire Force manga and anime for quite a while, and with the latest chapter, I can finally say it for sure...
Fire force is like no other. I'm not stating that is a great masterpiece, no, but it is one of the few that has such an intriguing plot line.
Okubo sensei did such an amazing job writing this story, not only it has an interesting plot, good cast etc, but I am talking about how it is closely connected to our current reality.
The story takes time in the far future, but in the latest chapters and what I believe final arc he went deeper with that and conected their reality with ours.
I got a slight feeling that Okubo sensei experimented with a few latest chapters and wrote wihout an actualy plan in mind, but it all connected.
He repeadetly started to break the fourth wall, adressing important topics such as fanservice in manga and anime. He also started doing collages and such.
Which I do appreciate it, because it is different, I have never seen any piece of media putting on pause their own story, just to convey an idea not relating or contributing to its story in any way.
And to talk about the new chapter, 287... just fire... thinking about it it may be controversal tho...
Traces of people
...Slight spoilers for Blue Period ch 41...
In this post I will talk a tad more about myself, than I do in others. Let's see how it goes.
First off I would like to say that I really relate to Yatora in general, yet in ch 41 I have finally found something I didn’t agree on, well at least not at first hehe. He had a monologue of having an interest in people, except I’ve misunderstood it at first and confused interest with love.
I don’t love people, can’t say I dislike them, but I definitely not love them. That’s the reason why I didn’t agreed with him (that’s super rare). But after some thinking...
I was drawing figurative painting, what I usually do, when I became self aware and realised that even though I declared that I don’t like people, I am always drawing or thinking about them in my area of study. What an irony
Consequently this led me to realisation that I misunderstood Yatora. He was not saying he loves people, he said he has an interest in them and loves only traces left by them.
Here was I, left speechless and defeated. Subconsciously I was searching for a reason to hate them and now I was left with nothing but the truth. It does not matter whenever I like, love or hate people, what’s true is that I unconditionally love different aspects of them.
This is one of so many reasons why I absolutely adore Blue Period and think that is one of the best mangas.
Nagisa means shore, the space between land and sea
It’s a fitting name for you, as the one that interlinks humanity
After watching the final Evangelion movie I could finally conclude my final Kaworu analysis. The movie was amazing, can’t lie, am a bit sad that it is over.
In his never ending existence and his repeated life in a predestined narrative made him yearn for a purpose.
Ever since his first appearance in the manga or anime he wants to make Shinji happy even if that means sacrificing himself. That was his way of being him, rebelling towards SELLE, in search of his own resolve.
He projected his own ideals and wishes onto Shinji. He though he wanted to make him happy but in reality that was his happiness. He wanted Shinji’s happiness to make him happy, and as Kaji said that’s also a reason why he wrote his name in the Book of life, so they will keep meeting each other in Nagisa’s eternal life.
However we can’t say that Kaworu didn’t care about Shinji. I am not sure whether he was also in love with him, but definitely attracted to him since they shared similarities. Kaworu certainly has said that he loves Shinji, however it might have been Kaworu subconsciously giving himself a reason to aid Shinji. That’s why he leaves Shinji be when he creates the new Neon Genesis world.
We could even say hat Kaworu used Shinji for self satisfactory motives, however we are not so cruel (also disclaimer: Kaworu is my all time fav character)
We see Kaworu in every timeline, but he doesn’t always remember everything, does he? That’s due-to him being almost immortal but only in the body, while his mind and memories does die off a bit after ever “death”. That's of course because has Addam's soul. But his body also changes yet stays eternally young, as we can see from the coffins.
In the final Evangelion movie Kaji in the anti-universe (probably the anti-matter, since we can also see Gendo doing quantum leaps) opens Kaworu’s eyes and tells him the truth, with that he apologies to Shinji and goes with Kaji, continuing his search for a purpose but in a very healthier and self-aware manner. He realizes that what he was doing was wrong and so he lets Shinji go. Kaworu now lives a good life and refuses to rely and take advantage of another person for his own happiness and regards. No matter his motives and intentions, he helped Shinji and others a lot, we can’t disregard him of that.
As I already said, I think that Kaworu Nagisa is one of the best written characters, just with this movie. Before, mostly what we saw was his angel side, but now being exposed of corruption just like every person on this planet really shows more of his human side. However this is not a first time just for us, at the same time Kaworu was also met with the truth. He is confronted in front of a mirror of truth at the same time we are...
In the 3.0+0.1 Kaji introduces him to gardening, we can see this as a metaphor for letting Shinji go and finally doing something entirely his own.
We cannot deny that he wasn’t naïve. I believe that this was his biggest weakness.
Shinji is Kaworu’s Mona Lisa, if I do a little connection to the lyrics of ‘One last kiss’ by Hikaru Utada. Mona Lisa is made to be observed and to be admired, not to be with in any shape or form.
Anyway, I hope that he is content and finally found his own happiness, the movie was amazing and the animation, plot and everything was spectacular, a good conclusion and an end to all of the Evangelion.
Did shed some tears, of both joy and sadness.
Goodbye all of Evangelion
Rising from the shadows
...Spoilers for jjk up to ch 154...
First off, I am very happy that Gege sensei finally came back, hope he rested well and is ready to drop some bomb new ch as the last two ones were.
A lot have happened in ch 153/154 but I want to focus on an introduction of a new character, and that is Kirara.
We can all agree that Gojo's technique is outstanding, but Kirara's technique despite no intel, even on their gender is one of the most interesting so far.
Can't really tell what it is, but I saw a lot of cool theories on other social platforms. But I can confidently say that it has a bunch of potential.
And their character design? One of the coolest ever (interested also in the color palette)
I mean, look at them...
My fave panels of Tokyo Revengers
...spoilers for tokyorev manga...
"Mommy"
...Spoilers for Blood on The Tracks...
Congratulations on 100 chapters, Shuzo Oshimi sensei did an amazing job as always. He surprised me again not only with the plot but also the art.
This story was quite a wild ride. To be honest I'll have to reread it, because a lot happens in it and I don't remember everything as I've read it quite some time ago.
However the story developed intensely and Seiichi's trauma and abuse and his coping with it has been super interesting and I can't wait to see how it will unfold as well as more of the amaizing art that Oshimi sensei will deliver
"I want you to live, I want you to survive, your presence saved me"
...Demon Slayer manga spoilers...
The new Demon Slayer manga ending was phenomenal, everytime I reread the last few panels I still can't believe how greatly it is written.
Gotouge sensei connected really good the verses with each and every character.
I will admit that I was not the biggest fan of the "first" ending, it was good, however I couldn't feel its conclusion at all, but now we finnaly got one. (Accually quite some time ago, but I couldn't find time to write this)
"I was extremly blessed to have been born"
The demon slayers need to be apreciated in the work that they did, it was not easy and they sacrificed a great deal to defeat demons and Muzan, that said I respect them a lot.
Every character has a beautiful backstory and now finally got a proper conclusion.
I want to say that Kny is a good manga and does not deserve all the hate that it gets, sure there are some flaws, but I enjoyed the read and I'm happy that I was a part of it. Can't wait for s2, bout to be awesome. Also Genya has my heart
Now that we finally got ch 3, I could develop more thoughts on Choujin X...
First off, the art is amazing, as expected from Ishida sensei.
The story is intriguing and I'm looking forward to founding more about it. The second chapter was a bit disappointing, however ch 3 displayed the "bad" side of having a choujin apperance at all times and mc Tokio's coping with it... we also love a bit of relationship devolopment on the boys side.
Can't wait to see more of it.
Grief, Regret and Guilt of Fujino
Look Back, one shot by Fujimoto
It was simply phenomenal. Fujimoto sensei again showed the amazing way to portrait emotions. The expressions and lineart are top noch.
The plot and story are both extremely enjoyable and make you think it could be after real life events.
The story shows a realistic approach to coping with the death of a friend or a loved one.
My fav is the mc Fujino. Her character is one of the most realistic ones I've seen. Her competitivness, way of expressing emotions and what kind of approach she takes on life and Kyomoto. She is really relatable and in some panels you could feel her feelings through the screen, truly marvellous.
I especially liked the ending or the conclusion of the story, the multiple timelines intertwined with each other was beautiful but also tragic at the same time.
Would reccomend, can't wait for the pt 2 of csm!!
'Nobody with naturally wavy hair can be trusted'
...Gintama the Final movie spoilers...
The movie was spectacular, it exceeded my expectations by far. The animation, ost's, the sound effects and the scenes were quite a preformance and worked so well together. I've been a Gintama fan for a while so this made me quite sentimental... Had to pause the movie and replay some scenes due to its magnificence.
I especially want to talk about the Gintoki vs. Utsuro fight. It was phenomenal, not only the flawless animation but the fight itself. Together, Gintoki and Takasugi not only defeated Utsuro but also transcended time-space, it left me beffuddled.
"Humans are hollow beings. But because they know that, they take root in the hearts of others, never fading, even after death and continue to live forever, is it?" - Utsuro
This fight made me respect Takasugi even more that I already did. And his last moments with Gintoki and the overflow of the memories were beautiful, mesmerizing.
Last part I want to talk about is the ending, the "Tama' POV" or "the narration" it was so well written with many plot twists till the end, what is famous for Gintama series.
If I said I wasn't crying I would be lying, it was beautiful until the end, thank you Sorachi sensei and everyone for this wild ride and a masterpiece that I am not afraid to say had a huge impact on the manga and anime evolution. It was ahead of its time.
THE FOOL Arthur Boyle
Analysis and personal thoughts
...Spoliers for Fire Force manga...
I would like too start with saying how much I love and adore Arthur's character. He proved himself many times and there's a lot to unpack with him as to he has a interesting, deep personality. From here on I will mainly focus on his arc fighting the Dragon.
First off, the fight was fantastic, one of the best ones I have read in a while. Both are stubborn and have a strong desire to fight, but this are not the only similarities that connect them.
Arthur and Dragon both found hope in death, for Dragon it was the first time knowing pain and discovering true hope.
While Arthur on the other side, was always misunderstood and ridiculed by those around him yet he always enjoyed the life he was given...
In the eyes of others he was seen as 'the fool', however was he really? Is he really the definition of the fool?
And for that reason - always enjoying life - he also enjoys his death as a part of life.
Here is important that we understand that death is not the end but essentialy a part of life. At least that's how both Arthur and Dragon saw it.
With his death Arthur also finally achieved his true goal of being 'the knight king' thus he did not feared death.
I found his acceptance and understanding of something so unkown and scary very inspiring and comforting in a way. I was stangly calm when he died, because as I said he accepted it and it was a salvation for him.
Reading and watching him die was catarsic and one of the best deaths I have ever read.
A short thought on Emanon
...Spoilers for Omoide Emanon...
The art and story is very eye-catching and it gets you hooked. Upset that I didn't pick it up sooner.
I really liked Emanon's character, the meaning behind her name and obviously her accepting nature. It's not easy remembering everything, even so living with the certainty that one day you will forget this everything and pass it down onto your children.
One thing that's also really interesting is her relationship with this boy. Her words to him at the reunion really struck me and had me thinking...
The fact that nothing will ever erase her memories of him and the good times they had together is quite deep and to me almost funny, as to how obvious it is yet no one seems to realise it.
Once again I want to say that I find Emanon extremely fascinating.
The story is great and so much more deep when you start thinking about it... that the memories will stay no matter what...

Rest in peace...
...AoT ch 139 additional pages spoiler...
First off I would like to declare that the pages are indeed realistic and connect nicely to the Erwin's speech about how humanity won't ever stop fighting among eachother and the situation with Paradis and Marley. But at the same time a realistic ending doesnt mean it's also good.
An ending has to be great if you want for a manga to be a masterpiece. The series had a good conclusion till the extra 8 pages. Dont get me wrong. They were good and interesting, but I do have a problem with modern day timeskips.
The ending of a manga is ironically the very first thing you remember after reading it, therefore we will forever remember about modern day timeskip, which is not bad but definetly not suiting for a manga that had so much potential to become a masterpiece.
Here I rest my case and heads-up this is just my personal opinion and I still congratulate Isayama for making such a cool story for over so many years, which I definitely enjoyed.
