I GOT A FUCKING RAISE THE POTATO WORKED WTF
This potato works. Every. Fucking. Time.
Then bring me luck
the day after I posted this last time I was notified that I was selected for a really cool mentorship gig and got an unrelated glowing review at work
mentally I am here
The elevator music in my brain
I work at a big chain bookstore. Someone at another store found this while tidying up the childrenâs department.
We went to see family at Christmas a couple of years ago and my granddad dug this article out from 1977!
Title âParang! Parang! Survival of Hispanic religious songs in Trinidad folkloreâ by Silvia Moodie
(Text is too small to read otherwise Iâd type it out on here)
mhhmmm yea

Itâs that time again. Itâs Tumblrâs 2022 Year in Review!
Every year, the team behind Fandometrics analyzes, categorizes, and ranks all the most discussed things on Tumblrâthatâs a yearâs worth of your tags, searches, posts, likes, and reblogsâand packages them up into a little thing we like to call Year in Review.
Tumblrâs Year in Review contains a full 365 daysâ worth of data, but it runs from October 21, 2021, to October 20, 2022. Tragically, this means Goncharov (1973), the greatest mafia movie ever made, will not appear on the lists this year. Weâre just as disappointed as you are, but that gives us all something to look forward to in 2023âespecially if @vancityreynoldsâ remake gets a release date.
This Year in Review has all your classics like Movies, Web Series, and Anime & Manga. Itâs also got last yearâs new lists (because, frankly, what would a Year in Review in 2022 be without Genshin Impact Characters and Minecraft Streamers?). And weâve added some new lists for you this year, tooâa brand new Formula 1 list and a few special editorial deep dives.
Stay tuned this month. There may be a few surprises along the way. Maybe even an exciting launch next week. Who knows! We certainly donât! Not a clue. For now, hereâs Tumblrâs Year in Review for you to dig into.

Itâs beginning to look a lot like shit scram
Oh my god
A gentle reminder that your accent is lovely, no matter where you come from, even if it's hard to understand at first for strangers who are not used to hearing it, it is still lovely. How wonderful that you can speak the same language with your unique melody to it!
EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE (2022) dir. Dan Kwan, Daniel Scheinert
Hi! I'm a beginner in Spanish and I have a question about Encanto there's a scene where someone says miercoles when something bad happens but why Wednesday?
It's the equivalent of saying "shoot" instead of "shit"
miércoles "Wednesday" starts off very similarly to mierda "shit"
It's very common in some places in Latin America, and I think probably the best known example of it is in the song Camisa negra by Juanes
In linguistic terms it's called a "minced oath"... a way to swear without actually swearing
Other well-known âminced oathsâ just off the top of my head:
jope, jopeta, jolines... instead of joder
ostras (lit. âoystersâ) instead of hostia in Spain [while hostia means âcommunion waferâ there are many expressions in Spain involving hostia used in a vulgar way; basically blasphemy in a cursing way]
caray or caramba which come across like âwowâ or âwhoaâ or âgeezâ depending on context... instead of carajo which is more like âfuckâ or a vulgar exclamation
Pretty much every language has a way to swear without swearing
