My engagement fell apart
Why is this so funny??
SHIELD’s collapse leaves Natasha uncertain of her place in the world. While Bruce enjoys life at Avengers Tower, he continues to doubt whether he’s more an asset than a liability to the team. Can they learn to trust each other-and themselves-enough to help each other find what they’re looking for? [Bruce x Natasha, post-CA:TWS, pre-A:AoU]

Brutasha/Brucenat/Hulkwidow FanFiction
I’ve seen some people looking for Bruce/Natasha FanFiction. Right now there isn’t a ton out there, but there are some good ones.
Taking A Chance (May 29,2014) by theicemenace: On the day of the Chitauri invasion, Natasha experienced real fear for the first time in her life when the Hulk chased her through the helicarrier, intent on ending her life. To help her get over the fear, Bruce decides they need shared experiences that didn’t include fighting a war. A Whole in the World (July 20, 2014) by theicemenace: Sequel to “Taking a Chance.” Massive spoiler for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.“
The Christmas Gift (December 23, 2014) by theicemenace: sequel/tag to “A Whole in the World”.
Spirits Shared (March 19, 2015) by Secret of Decay: Despite his gentle forewarning, the Andes have managed to siphon the warmth from her bones. There’s a chance of heat with Bruce, nestled inside his sleeping bag, but not without a minor hit to her pride.
Equilibrium (March 8, 2015) by othinbuttherain: Based on a prompt for ‘Brutasha wedding night’ does exactly what it says on the tin in that regard. Fluff, pure fluff. /Teaser: ”…Words that would be true until her last breath and the last beat of her heart. Words that, when he whispered them back to her made her feel more alive than she ever had done and sent soft shivers through her even now.“
A Temporary Arrangement (February 25, 2015) by subjunctivemood: Post-The Winter Soldier: Natasha doesn’t have a lot of options; Stark Tower is a last resort. She doesn’t expect to stay long.
Read all of them twice and found so much more and I’m pretty sure there are a lot more to come, a lot more. But these are the best in my opinion!
Me, the fandom, Tandy, and O’Reilly: Tyrone Johnson is a pure soul and I would kill for him in a heartbeat.
I am still alive
“I’m not afraid. I know who I married.”
Ya girl is back with the Brutasha edits! Sorry for the hiatus!
Can I just say, as odd and as briefly touched upon as it is, I really like Valkyrie’s relationship with Bruce and the Hulk?
Like, I don’t think we’ve ever seen (definitely not in the MCU anyway) someone who made friends with HULK first? I mean, Natasha was flatly terrified of Hulk (part of the reason their ‘romance’ never landed with me), and even Tony was more just sort of… not afraid of Hulk, very much. When Hulk goes on his rampage in AoU, Tony still tries to punch his lights out.
Valkyrie, though, was pals with Hulk. They liked one another. They hung out and played games and did fun stuff. Even though she’d also pretty much sold him for a bounty, Hulk definitely didn’t seem to have a grudge against her. Heck, given Hulk’s sheer power levels, it’s unlikely that Valkyrie tazered him or anything. She probably just talked him into coming along and finding a place where he could ‘smash lots of things’ and people would cheer instead of scream.
Over the two years they knew each other, she left enough of an impression that Bruce was pretty sure he knew her, even though Hulk had him mentally shut off from events for that whole period of time. So we can glean that Hulk himself must have liked her a good deal. We don’t even really see Hulk disparage her or get angry with her like he tends to do with Thor. Admittedly, though, some of that can be chalked up to not seeing a lot of interactions between them. Hulk is surly by nature, so I doubt it was all rainbows and sunshine. But if they did have disagreements, Valkyrie seems to have taken them in stride. She’s not remotely suspicious of Hulk inviting her over or wanting to spend time with her.
And then she made friends with Bruce, after the fact. As weird as it is for her to wrap her head around the Bruce-Hulk dynamic, Bruce was probably having a bit of a mental trip himself over that whole concept. Someone made friends with Hulk and then got to know Bruce afterwards. Valkyrie is not someone he’ll ever have to prepare for the dark realities of Hulk, she watched him fight in coliseum-style matches beating up whoever came out of the gate for two years. She knows Hulk can be brutal, it’s doubtful that many of his opponents actually deserved to be smashed into a pulp.
And Valkyrie herself is pretty harsh in some ways, and dealing with her own demons. While she definitely has the ‘charming scoundrel’ thing down pat, that doesn’t change the fact that that level of drinking is concerning. Even for an Asgardian. She’s an outcast, too, a career one, and given her somewhat heady mix of valour and remorse, I’d say she and Bruce would probably connect a lot on issues of self-loathing and resentment for their lot in life.
Like, I feel like the two of them wouldn’t have to bother with a lot of pretenses between them. Valkyrie could be a messy grief-stricken drunk and Bruce could be a bitter, anxious mess, and Hulk could be Hulk, and they’d all get along just fine anyhow.

Ya girl is back with some more AOU/Brutasha analysis! I don’t really know how to introduce this so let’s just jump right in!

Update
Hello everyone, I just want to inform you all that I will be continuing my fanfic. I know it’s been awhile, but school has finally let up and I am about to graduate from the top school in my state. I also have moved on from life from my ex, and have actually met someone new. So things are going great, so look out soon for a long chapter!
Today’s mood
The fact that the avengers literally suck without Bruce Banner/The Hulk and lose every battle unless both Bruce and Hulk are on their side.
Chitauri Battle: a complete failure until Bruce arrived
Sokovia Raid (start of AOU): a huge success because Bruce is happy and his and the Hulk’s needs are met
Battle of Sokovia: was going pretty crappy until Nat got Hulk on their side
Battle in Wakanda: pretty crappy because Hulk wasn’t cooperating
Final fight against Thanos: utter defeat because Hulk wasn’t cooperating
Bruce Banner is the endgame for the Avengers. He’s their Queen on the chessboard. The tables always turn when he’s fully on board and ready to smash everything in sight.
That’s why Avengers 4 will feature a culmination of his strength as a character. The Avengers couldn’t save the earth without the Hulk. They tried, and failed- even with a fully powered-up Thor. But when Bruce gets everything sorted out, there will be sweet vengeance.
(Oh, and Captain Marvel/Ant-Man’s involvement couldn’t hurt either)
MARK AND SCARLETT 😍
Just putting this out there
After the new clip, I am now ready for Infinity War to mess up Bruce’s characterization. Marvel movies don’t really know how to show that someone is smart so they’re going to show Shuri “outwitting” Bruce multiple times for laughs. I wish that we could get serious, bitter, sarcastic Bruce like we got in previous films. But we’re probably just going to get foolish bumbling Bruce. Oh well. I’m just trying to temper my expectations so I’m not too disappointed. Does anyone else have this same concern?
Something to keep in mind here, we knew there was going to be moment when Bruce, Tony, or both got shown up by Shuri’s brilliance and wit. Rather than seeing it as a slam on Bruce, consider it a test of his character. A lot of anti Tony people think it will crush his ego. I really don’t think it’s the case with Tony and it certainly won’t be with Bruce because they are both much more nurturing and generous characters than that–something which is wonderful to see in “older” white, American males. From what I could see, Bruce takes Shuri’s gentle ribbing well and doesn’t come off as offended or snarky. (He knows who deserves the snark.) She’s got something to teach him, so I imagine he will be delighted by that opportunity. Snarking or acting offended really wouldn’t be appropriate or in character for the educator and scientist we know him to be. Bruce is secure in his own intelligence. That is the one area where he does have an ego, but he’s not egotistical about it. Bruce (and Mark) are very sensitive to the fact that they hold a privileged position, so they can afford a little ego deflation from time to time and not need to cop an attitude about it. Bruce knows the spotlight is big enough to share, and frankly that is a new development in the MCU that has been a long time in coming. I wish it could have happened with Jane and Betty there, too, but at least we finally have Shuri and Peter likely to make it a SCIENCE FAMILY and expand the SCIENCE BROS LOVE!
If that doesn’t make you feel better, consider this. Vision is only about a quarter of Bruce’s work, so he’s taking the blame/credit for adapting Ulton’s and Tony’s (and Helen’s) work to make Vision in just a few HOURS–NOT DAYS. Think what Bruce would have done with the luxury of time to have considered and designed Vision. Because of the time constraints and Wanda, Pietro, and Steve’s interference, Vision isn’t even Bruce’s best effort.
Natasha: I thought you said you were decent.
Bruce: I am decent. I also happen to be naked.
