There is low activity across all of my blogs — I tend to get interested in spurts, so once in a while you may notice I pratically live on Tumblr, whereas most of the time I pop in once every other week or so. ooc. Allison has a “Look” when he is particularly interested or focused on something — usually a case he’s working on — that the officers at the police department make fun of. He will thinly purse his lips, furrow his eyebrows, and his eyes get really wide. Every once in a while he’ll find a new bottle of eye drops on his desk left in jest.

Blonde hair, blue eyes, and while perhaps she was a bit heavier than the other gym rats the serial killer had been stalking, Emma was beautiful and active, enough so that it gave the killer a thrill … more so in knowing that the woman had more to fight him for with a child at home. Did the killer know that he was being watched? No, he certainly didn’t. No more than Emma knew that she was being followed not by one, but two different people.

At least, she didn’t until suddenly a man’s arm was thrown over her shoulder, startling her enough that she crushed the chocolate candy bar in her hands in full preparation in punching whoever it was … until she saw the badge. Had she thrown hands with a cop before? Yes she did, but she wasn’t about to repeat that incident here in the states.

“Well if that’s the case-” smiling a faux smile, Emma bent and grabbed a small handful of other random candy bars, muttering the softest ‘for scaring me…’ before placing it up on the counter, taking hold of the bag they were now all placed in with one hand, and her coffee in the other. “-We really should catch up, yeah! If you want I can make time for you this weekend, but you might have to share with a couple people..” walking with who she assumed was a policeman out of the coffee shop, the instant they were outside she looked over to him, brows arched and her lips pressing into a thin line of displeasure.

“Mind filling me in what this is all about?”

     The crinkling of candy wrappers draws his focus downward. She only reached for them after he offered to pay. Given the situation he didn't mind at all. She could get the entire goddamn store if it meant he could get her out of harm's way.      "Sure, sure. That sounds great." Allison was quick to pay for the items and go, yet again with his arm around her. Outside he continued to urge her forward until they were a good distance from the storefront. He glanced back to ensure they weren't followed — or at least that the woman's pursuer was out of earshot. Yes. Safe for now. He turned back to her and drew in a breath. Tried to think of a delicate way to explain.      "Okay, first: nice acting. The guy back there with the really impressive red beard— he's been trailin' you for a while. He's a suspect in... a few cases. We've almost got enough evidence to nab 'im." Another glance back toward the store, just from the corner of his eye, so as not to draw suspicion. The suspect must still be inside.      She will probably want more information than that, and he is reluctant to give it. If she panics, it'll blow their little ruse. "You're safe, alright? I'm keepin' an eye out. But this guy works quick. So, uh... I'm stickin' around 'til we can get some backup protection for you. You'll only kinda notice they're there. Promise."

“Well, yeah. Duh. I just thought it’d be weird a detective thinks magic is real.” This was good. He just needed to make sure nothing could connect him to the attack, other than just pure bad luck. “If I remember something, I’ll give you a call. I should probably be getting home anyways.”

     WEIRD. This whole situation is weird. What he didn't want to say was that it almost looked like a bomb had detonated in the plaza. The minute someone says THE B WORD, people start panicking, so he kept it to himself. There had been no traces of explosives either. Just wanton destruction. Someone with a lot of muscle or a lot of unchecked rage.      The detective purses his lips and continues to ponder the rubble for a moment. Finally, he takes a card out of his wallet and hands it to the kid.

     "Here's my info. Thanks for tryin' anyway. Get home safe."

“Depends. Are you good with court politics?” He wasn’t actually going to drag this guy into anything; Fairy courts were a totally different ballgame, anyways. Getting any kind of help, especially from a human, would probably be a death sentence for them.

“Probably not. Most people don’t have to deal with that in this day and age.” Juniper smiled as he answered his own question, his eyes focused on the man. “But I should deal with my own problems. It’d be kinda sad if I couldn’t handle them myself.”

     "I'm familiar with court and politics." Then a pause, because he can tell that isn't relevant. Court politics like royalty and such? No idea. Not much use for that in the life of a U.S. law enforcement officer. Allison's gaze scanned the area. Seeing no one else, he clicked his tongue and opened the car door. "I'll leave you to it. The offer still stands though. You need anything, give us a call, 'kay? You can even ask for me— Detective Jonvosh."

Your dreams are plagued with terrifying visions. Every time something moves in your peripheral vision, you jump. Over time, it gets worse. You see the Big Bad waiting for you in crowds. You hear footsteps behind you and turn around, only to see that nothing is there. Unfortunately, your paranoia gets to you and you end up accidentally killing yourself while you fight one of your hallucinations.

Closed starter for @recordsstraight 's Emma.

     Whether she knows it or not, a quiet shadow has been stalking that poor woman for most of the day. He knows because he, in turn, has been following as well. For two reasons: one, she is in danger and two, the shadow is a prime suspect in several murders. Attempting to go full-blown SERIAL KILLER as the local department believes. The suspect has been slippery until now. Flip-flopping between potential new victims. All with similar eyes, hair, et cetera. Allison can't stand by and watch any longer. When it looks like the suspect is going to approach his potential victim, in broad daylight in a convenience store, Allison beats him to it.      The detective walks over to her and throws an arm around her shoulders. "Hey, it's been a while!" he exclaims. Discreetly he pulls out his badge — so the suspect won't see it from where he lurks behind them — and mouths a quick 'go along with it.'

     He pockets the badge and directs her toward the register. As compensation for the AWKWARD encounter, Allison pays for whatever was in her hands and continues his charade. "It's on me. No really. After your help last week, I insist. What'cha doing this afternoon? We oughta catch up."

     "How 'bout that story, huh? Pretty precise..." mutters Allison when they're out of the suspect's earshot. He hasn't gotten to work with Detective Reed much. Hopefully he isn't as... grumpy as he seems.      "When she started crying... between you an' me— the ol' sixth sense— I didn't buy it. Killer acting skills though. Pun kinda intended."
