This is an old one I did as a weekly challenge a few years back. The theme was movies. Go figure. There’s 50 movie references in the picture. Can you find them all?

Found my old illustration sketchbook from 2010. Seems like my influences haven’t changed much.
It’s amazing what redoing a crappy drawing 2 weeks later can do.
A Birthing announcement I did for my wife and I.
Hey, it’s Halloween! So I drew some of Marvel’s darker superheroes. Some of them even fight demons!
In honor of Luke Cage coming out this weekend on Netflix, I thought I’d draw the Power Man himself. Along with the other Heroes for Hire and some street level heroes.
The original Ninja Turtles show was never my Ninja Turtles. I grew up on the awesome 1990 movie. But regardless here’s a Rocksteady I did a few weeks ago. Maybe one day I’ll get around to doing Bebop as well. One day.
While rummaging through some old things, I found an old flipbook I did. Now it’s probably not my first animation ever, but for whatever reason I decided to keep this for my future self to find. I can’t be certain how old I was when I made this but I’d wager 12-13 based on the blatant Dragonball Z and Xiao Xiao references.
Some more from Spidey’s oh-so-huge rogue’s gallery.
This week I watched the 1919 film Broken Blossoms. It was pretty good despite it’s simple plot and now controversial casting. I couldn’t get the villain out my head though. Battling Burrows the abusive father and boxer had such a distinctive look. Here’s a quick sketch I did of him today.
Some quick sketches I did of family at my nephew’s first birthday party this weekend. Wasn’t really strong on likeness today.
Had a chance to see Suicide Squad early this week. DC’s gotta get their act together. But Will Smith was a saving grace of the movie, and it was cool to see DC characters running around Toronto. Here’s a quick sketch I did today of Deadshot.
Got a chance to sketch at our Bible study’s year end barbecue tonight. Wishing I had a better scanner though.
I’ve been really busy with work lately so I haven’t really had a lot of time to do some extra drawing. But I found some small gouache layout paintings I did last year under the tutelage of the great Peter Chan. If you don’t know Peter’s work, I highly recommend checking out his art at;

Here’s some Spidey villains for ya.
Went a little Trek heavy in my sketching this week.
A quick sketch I did while watching Daredevil this weekend. Basically Season 2 in a nutshell. Sort of.
