Gonna see Thor: Ragnarok today since it's already out here in the Philippines...

Though I'm gonna refrain from sharing any spoilers until the release date for back home in the States, 3 November.

Still salty about Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis no longer being in the trilogy (they better feature in some non-Thor Marvel Cinematic Universe films in future, for all that Erik Selvig has shared time with the Avengers), but looking forward to the MCU Valkyrie (girl crush!). And I've been madly anticipating this since the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange so it should be good.😊

Got around to seeing Happy Death Day...

And I freakin' love Tree Gelbman. I was a bit wary of her at first, going into the film, because sorority girl type so my prejudiced expectations, but she was pretty fun and three-dimensional. And even though she's done some bad things, like having an affair with a married man, she just is. And her birthday is 18 September, so she's a Virgo like me (my birthday of course is 26 August).❤ The film was overall nice and re-affirming, and Carter Davis was so cute the first time Tree kisses him, his smile... I just want to slap his stupid sweet face.😇 Carter x Tree forever.

(Also, the whole sequence where Tree keeps dying and reviving to Demi Lovato's "Confident" was freaking hilarious and where I started to fall in love with the character. Listening to the song on loop now. An enjoyable time at the movies.😊)

Seeing some posts drawing visual parallels from the Episode VIII trailer between Luke Skywalker and Rey and wondering if some people still believe Rey is a Skywalker...

I mean, I would think not at this point, but like really? From indications from the trailer, Luke is strongly in the running for dickweed dad of the year, abandoning his daughter to and belittling her efforts at saving the galaxy, and leaving it to the “cousin” to pick up the slack…

I’m just saying. I would hope for a little more out of fathers. Even Star Wars fathers, which admittedly is like the lowest standard.

I’m so thankful to the Force and the universe right now. Also for all the shots of Adam Driver’s pretty face (and of him flying around, and punching the wall with his helmet…). And Poe Dameron’s sexy speech-giving, and Finn ‘bout ready to throw down with Captain Phasma…

Saw Flatliners yesterday...

I was wavering a bit as to whether or not I should add it to this week's film outing line-up, as I've never seen the original film, but I gotta support my man Diego Luna.:-p

And now I want fan fiction or any kind of fan work with Felicity Jones in the role of Nina Dobrev. Especially with that whole line that got to me: "Don't you get it. I need you to come back. To me." I'm such a sap. *looks expectantly to the internet*

(Or in which like ten months later hell yes, I still ship Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso, and even still Diego and Felicity. Oh, and I'm listening to "Sweet Dreams" by BØRNS from the end credits like it's my new thing...)

It’s been ten days since the release of Star Wars: Rogue One and I still can’t believe no one of the Rogue One crew survived the mission...

Literally no one. I mean, I was expecting that as much as half, or even most, would be lost because stakes and a war film, but I never would have thought Disney would sign off on EVERYONE being killed, both bad and good. Like damn.

Especially to all those in my various fandoms, and shipping communities (even the ones that seem to contradict each other -- I’m a complex individual). Your unbridled enthusiasm and analysis let me know I‘m not alone and gets me through some of my most difficult days. All I want for Christmas is some canon assurance that Princess Leia (and all the rest) got to know the story of each and every member of the Rogue One crew, and properly honoured those stories...

You have books and comic books and other formats at your disposal, Lucasfilm, and many of us fans are in need of closure. I don’t think I’m asking a lot from you or Santa Claus.

Guys, don’t forget...

From what I understood of the film, Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso both lost “everything” at the age of six (when Cassian’s life entered the rebellion, and when Jyn's mother was killed and the Empire took back her father). And it’s implied they both spent time as child soldiers growing up. This is basic foundation material for headcanons, fan fiction, and what-have-you. They have something in common that’s essential.

Possibly still too soon after the events of Star Wars: Rogue One for the lyrics of this not to be too raw or too real, but I was listening to this song again and it made me think of Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso. Like maybe to Jyn from Cassian’s perspective? Things are moving a bit slower for me than for some of my other ships, but it’ll be interesting what songs bring what to mind for me over time with this pairing... I’m still going to need all your fanmixes and fanvids, people.

As much as I thought it was kind of cool how they managed to incorporate Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia in Star Wars: Rogue One...

Was I the only person in the world who in the theatre at this reveal was immediately like Oh God, she looks so much like Padmé. That’s Padmé’s baby girl, right there! But then however poorly executed a lot of the prequel trilogy was, at heart I’m still forever a prequel brat -- that was my youth.

Also, not to be weird or anything -- too late -- but shout-out to @jyncassians when Bail Organa made his first appearance, and seemed to have a calming effect on Jyn Erso in front of the Senate council, as I’ve noticed you have a certain love for the Organa family... (And now I want the alternate universe in which a 16-year-old Jyn somehow comes across and befriends a 13-year-old Leia and Bail becomes for her a far more stable father figure than was Saw Gerrera. That hero of a girl deserves it.) Grateful they brought Jimmy Smits back for the role and didn’t re-cast or *shudder* whitewash it and hope we could maintain that for Bail and Breha Organa both should we ever have a stand-alone Princess Leia film in between one of the fourth-trilogy films...

Chirrut Îmwe was everything in this film -- EVERYTHING. (Also K-2SO...sassy droid is sassy. I get that that’s a pretty standard feature in science-fiction, but our boy took it to another level. Particularly with that whole “And there’s a fresh one for you if you mouth off again” moment -- like good Lord, please be my best friend.)

There is an alternate universe somewhere in which Bodhi Rook is the informally adopted brother of Jyn Erso and you can’t tell me otherwise. (Also appropriate given that Star Wars was at least partly built on a son’s devotion to his father so it’s nice to see some shades of it return alongside a daughter’s devotion to the same...)

It’s been three days, but it’s Star Wars so either you’ve already seen it or you shouldn’t be in here...

But I have too many thoughts and feelings these days and wanted to start sharing them... (And to those of you in my shipping community that are feeling a bit sad at the moment I’d like to offer my perspective.)

While I was depressed as any after my first viewing of Star Wars: Rogue One (and I saw it on Wednesday, two days before the U.S. release, so I had to be alone in my sadness for a bit), since my second viewing of it on Friday I’ve had some time to process it a bit and I think I can start to live with it. I think the ultimate thing I need to keep in mind is all the weeks and months I spent fervently hoping for Cassian Andor to survive the film, and taking for granted that Jyn Erso would do the same as I expected sacrificing himself to save her would be the redemption of Galen Erso. If I were one for prayer, no matter how much I could be scoffed at for wasting it on a fictional character, I’d have been praying against it, but in any case that was my biggest worry -- even seeing my Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” post scenario as a real possibility. I never planned that we’d be losing the both of them.

But I’m glad that at the end of the day that if they had to go they went together, instead of one or another left behind and having to carry on with their life. And in a way that they were both emotionally and physically connected. For a couple that never kissed, and for a film that never drew much attention to it, I felt the force of love in my bones between two people that, whether you ship them or not, I think everyone can agree were meant to be linked.

Guys, our ship took it to another level, and we now have a love for the ages and not just for Star Wars. And remember the parting words of Obi-Wan Kenobi to Darth Vader: “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.” Not that I fault anybody responsible for this film, as everyone’s deaths fit the story, but in martyring our ship I think they raised it to a special place and I just hope we can keep it going in our hearts and in our content...

(Also, I was pretty much right about Chirrut Îmwe, Baze Malbus, and their friendship model. And I never thought it would hurt so much to be right.)

Any KyloRey veterans out there that just as fervently ship RogueCaptain?

First of all, Happy One-Year Anniversary, everyone (18 December)! You guys are amazing, Star Wars fans are amazing...

Second of all, my title query, as from what I’ve seen from at least before the film the majority in this community with Star Wars: Rogue One ships ship Krenso and while at least after the film I could see myself shipping Director Krennic x Jyn Erso from certain angles depending on the quality of the writing, exploring some character studies of the pair, to me they will always fall short of the perfection that is Cassian Andor x Jyn Erso. It’s only taken 11-17 years but I do believe Cassian and Jyn have actually overtaken Anakin x Padmé as my #1 Star Wars OTP...they’re now down to #2, while Obi-Wan x Sabé (AKA Rey’s grandparents, AKA the OTP that’s gonna gut me in the stand-alone Kenobi film, you just wait and see...) are down to #3. (I never really had an exact ranking for Kylo Ren x Rey...just basked in the overall supportiveness and prolificness of the community for a year now.)

I’m always curious as to where things overlap and with whom I am multiship-compatible...
