@jrvwon
“i know you’re getting a little old for the van trips, but it was the only think spotlight could get last minute,” yuko sighed apologetically. “we’re already running behind for call time for this radio show– can you please bear with me and get in? you may be a little sore afterwards, but it’s just a twenty minute drive…” // @hasikrv @dayoonrv @jrvwon @rvsiwan
let it be known that jiwon was not above giving yuko a hard time. his bullshit was probably a significant contributing factor to their last couple of managers quitting, but he maintained that he never did it on purpose -- it’s just who he is. this time, though, it was such a small issue that he didn’t see the point in bitching about it. sure, folding himself into the backseat would be a headache, but nothing he couldn’t deal with. “relax, yuko. it’ll be fun, yeah? if you let me control the tunes, it’ll be like a party on wheels.”
rvjaemi·:
jaemi is rather new to spotlight, in the grand scheme of things. he has been with the company for a few years now, but in perspective with the rest of his career, it’s just a speck. barely anything. he’s still just finding his way through the labyrinth that is the building, so when he finds himself on the roof of all places, he can’t say he’s particularly surprised that he’s messed up so badly. he is surprised, however, to see he’s not alone. upon realizing what he was seeing, he couldn’t help but smile. “rough day at the office, i take it?”
jiwon couldn’t help but return jaemi’s smile, his own grin a little bit sheepish at having been caught red-handed. still, though, jaemi didn’t seem put off by his favorite recreational activity nor the setting in which he’d chosen to partake in it. so jiwon rolled with the punches, eager to see how the situation would pan out. he patted the spot next to him, inviting jaemi to take a seat. “to say the least,” he responded, taking another long hit as he waited for the other man to sit next to him or turn back toward the staircase. “what brings you to the roof on this fine spring day?”
rvgrayson·:
“hey jiwon,” gray said, trying to get his attention. “listen; i’m american. i think korea’s treatment of weed is dumb. but we’re still in korea, and if i of all people stumbled on you here so easily, someone with more power might too. i might find a different place to light up.”
“hey gray,” jiwon responded, immediately licking his fingers and snuffing out the joint. he knew gray wasn’t going to rat him out, but he also knew better than to keep smoking in front of a staff member. even if this was the first and only time he’d ever been caught by one. “thanks for looking out, man.” he put the joint in its baggie, shoving it deep into his pocket. “what brings you up here?”
rvshiloh·:
seola hated spotlight. she hated the building. she hated the people. she hated the suffocating vibe it all gave up. she didn’t come anywhere near the building unless she absolutely had to, and today, she was here with trademark lawyers to iron some things out. it was terrible. they technically needed her there, in theory, but they didn’t even really need her there to do anything. the first opportunity she got, she escaped to the roof (she always loved sneaking up there when she was, like, twelve), rolling her eyes when she saw jiwon. not the act he was doing, because that would make her a hypocrite. but how he was doing it.
“it’s like you want to get kicked from your group,” she said with an eyeroll. “hotbox your apartment in the middle of the night with the shades drawn like the rest of us. otherwise some eagle eyed reporter is gonna find you and end your life.”
jiwon never really vocalized as much, but he admired what seola had done. leaving spotlight to strike out or succeed on her own couldn’t have been easy. even with how unhappy he could be with the company sometimes, he didn’t know if he would have had the balls to do the same if he was in her position. maybe on some level that made her better than him, but jiwon wasn’t phased by that realization; a whole lot of people out there were a whole lot better than he was, at just about everything. so he didn’t dwell.
he couldn’t help the lazy smirk that spread across his lips as he sat up to respond to seola, the joint still burning between his fingers. “my apartment’s too big to hotbox,” he informed her, a smidge of arrogance evident in his tone. “besides, there are no reporters around. even if they’re in one of the surrounding buildings and take a picture, i can just say it’s a cigarette.”
rvnate·:
listen, nathan was born and raised in seoul, but his father was american. he’d spent a lot of time in the states. he wasn’t as worried or stressed or against marijuana as many others in south korea. but he also felt like there was absolutely a time and place. and the place wasn’t on top of the spotlight roof.
he had found jiwon by accident, and jiwon was his senior, but really, in this situation, that didn’t matter. “dude, i don’t care if you do that, but you really shouldn’t do that here,” he said. “like i really don’t have a problem with it. but you’re on the spotlight roof– people come up here more than you think. not to mention that sometimes people stake out this building in neighboring buildings. i just don’t want you getting in more trouble.”
jiwon sat up when he heard nathan’s voice, recognizing juno’s leader almost instantly. he quirked an eyebrow, impressed that the kid had had the balls to say something to him. even if juniors were supposed to walk on eggshells around their seniors, the fact that nathan hadn’t even hesitated earned him some respect in jiwon’s eyes. not that that was the most valuable thing for a young performer to have or anything, but still. color jiwon impressed.
he snuffed out the joint and put it away, less because he was worried about getting caught and more because he didn’t want to argue with a junior when he was already stressed out. “who else comes up here?” he wondered aloud, flicking an ant off his pants. “been coming up here for almost a decade now and nobody’s caught me yet.” he shrugged. “thanks for looking out, though.” after a beat, he continued. “what brings you to the roof?”
taichirv·:
it was a tiresome little life, to be okabayashi taichi. as much as he’d die before he let it show, it took his toll on him to be so on all the time. he was always smiling, always cracking jokes, always shouldering everyone else’s emotions no matter which side of the bed he woke up on that morning. and today, thanks for asking, he got out of the wrong side. (metaphorically, of course, his bed is pushed up against the wall.) he’d been grumpy and oversensitive all day, and keeping up his happy, ever-unaffected persona had been especially juggernaut. he just needed to breathe.
the first thing that hits him is the smell. it’s unfamiliar to him, but he quickly knits together a conclusion when he spots his source - and the person puffing on said source. jiwon… well, taichi can be a little judgemental, but even without the extensive homework he’d done on his label-mates, it’s a preceding reputation.complete foreigner to drugs of any sort taichi may be, it’s not a difficult puzzle to solve. he freezes for a second, before dropping into a ninety-degrees bow. he’s still a trainee. he knows about hierarchy, and catching a senior red handed comes far in second place behind making a good impression. taichi is not going to lecture jiwon. taichi wants jiwon to think he’s cool. perhaps that’s why, when he sits on the ground next to jiwon, he tilts his head and gives a smile that shows not one trace of his internal freak out (oh my god taichi what are you doing this is stupid this is the stupidest thing you will ever do in your whole life-) ”you know the rules, right?” he says in a way that almost sounds teasing, trying his best to sound like this is what he does, like this is nothing to him. “if you get caught, you gotta share with the class.”
it took a moment for jiwon to put two-and-two together. one moment he’d been alone of the roof, watching the flame from his lighter burn the rolling paper and the next, someone was bent over in front of him. he laughed a little at the kid’s enthusiasm, figuring it was probably a trainee eager to get a glimpse of a traxx member. he was a little frustrated that he had to be traxx’s jiwon again when the whole reason he’d come up there in the first place was to escape all those expectations.
but then, much to his surprise, the trainee was sitting down next to him. jiwon didn’t say anything, just quirked an eyebrow as he took another drag from the joint, holding the smoke in his lungs until he felt a cough threatening to overtake him, finally exhaling a thinned out cloud. “how old are you, kid?” he asked, giving the boy a long once-over. “and what’s your name?” he felt a little bad that he didn’t already know it, but figured there was no time like the present to find out. besides, he was still trying to decide if he should share his weed with this trainee. on the one hand, he had no problem sharing his stuff -- sharing was caring, after all. but on the other hand, jiwon was a seasoned idol. he had an established fanbase and he was part of a popular group. when he’d had his drug scandal, it had rocked traxx, for sure. but it hadn’t ruined them. this kid had yet to debut -- if he got caught smelling of weed or with bloodshot eyes during practice, his career would be over before it even had a chance to begin. “you ever smoked before?”
rvsona·:
sona had been with spotlight for a long, long time. more than a decade, at this point. many wondered why she’d stayed so long– from haze’s untimely axing, to them putting her in a rapper box, sona had been through her fair share with the company, and yet she’d stayed. she was loyal. she wanted to see this through. and she had her escapes.
namely, the roof– she didn’t know how many other artists knew about the spot. but she liked it. it had a beautiful video of seoul, and it was nice to get some fresh air. and now that sona’s first solo song where she was actually showing off her vocals had been released, she wanted to spend some time alone up there. to celebrate
only she wasn’t alone. when she came across jiwon, she sighed. “you’re lucky it’s me who came up here, and not someone who has any power over you,” she told him. “what are you thinking? do you know how much trouble you could get in if you were caught?”
jiwon had been with spotlight for a decade and had yet to be caught up on the roof. he’d smoked a joint up there more times than he could count, had snuck some soju out there to celebrate traxx’s first win with a couple of the other boys. he’d even brought a lover or two up there in his day, impressing them with the view of seoul from the top of spotlight entertainment before pressing kisses to the back of their neck, arms twining around their waist.
even with all of that, today just had to be the day sona walked in on him. even though he’d been with the company for a decade, he knew sona had been there longer. so with a disappointed sigh, he licked his fingers and snuffed out his joint, making sure the little baggie he’d stored it in was sealed properly before shoving it back in his pocket. he stood, wiping dirt and dust off his ass as he went.
he shrugged a shoulder and tried to play it off, clearing his throat before he spoke. “what brings you up here?” he finally asked, unable or unwilling to answer such loaded questions from her (or anyone else, for that matter).
sometimes, jiwon just needed to get away from everything for a little bit. he usually didn’t mind that everyone saw him as the fuck-up of traxx because, for the most part, it was the truth. but even he got tired of the way people looked at him like he was a disappointment, or like he was just barely above the dog shit stuck to the bottom of their shoes. after being chewed out by one of traxx’s managers yet again, he’d managed to slip out of the conference room and make his way to the spotlight building’s roof. he’d discovered this spot as a trainee and had yet to show it to anyone else -- his own quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of idol culture. lying down so nobody would spot him from the ground below, jiwon pulled a blunt and a lighter out of his pocket, lighting it and taking his first hit. just as he started to exhale, he heard the door to the roof swing open.
“i just got referred to as a middle aged former idol star on a radio show,” joori scoffed. “i hope they enjoyed their run while they had one– i can’t imagine they’ll be on the air much longer after that garbage.”
jiwon had to press his lips together to keep himself from laughing. clearly, joori wasn’t as amused by the whole thing as he was. “look on the bright side,” he started, nudging her with his elbow. “at least they didn’t call you a junkie who leeches off the rest of your group’s success, right?” the host who had said that about him after his scandal hadn’t even lost his job, either. “who gives a fuck what those losers say?”

hey, y’all! it’s ya girl, megan (25, she/her, est) again, here to introduce you to another character. this right here is song jiwon. he’s kind of a fuckboy and he’s affectionately known as a thot, but he fully plays into those roles lmao. he’s a member of traxx (main rapper/vocalist) filling the chanyeol spot. his main goal in life is just to have fun, honestly. he used to be a nice, sweet boy as a trainee, but the industry has corrupted him and gotten to his head. he likes to party, have sex with pretty people (regardless of their gender but don’t tell spotlight that lmao), and smoke a lot of weed. so much so that he was involved in a pretty big drug scandal. a picture of him in los angeles surfaced, which normally wouldn’t be a very big deal. except this time, there was a bong on the table in front of him. thankfully, the picture wasn’t taken when he was actually smoking it, giving him an easy out. jiwon’s bad boy image was cemented in the press, though, and he was held back from participating in some of traxx’s promotion for obsession.
to read more about him, check out his BIO. if you wanna talk plots with this fuckboi, shoot me a message here or on discord (megan#4978)!!

rvhyunsoo·:
Hyunsoo was always in awe of the older idols, especially the boy groups. He admired them, dreamed of what it was like to be in there shoes. TRAXX was the most glaring example. He was only a kid when the group came out and was a major aspect of him wanting to become a trainee. Jiwon was no exception to this. And the member seemed to give him more attention than other trainees, which made it more nerve wracking to Hyunsoo. He jumped at the sound of a throat being cleared, assuming it to be a staff member, and spun around. Ready for whatever trail of critiques was going to come out of the staff’s mouth, his expression softened when he saw Jiwon. Hyunsoo offered a small bow. “I’m sorry, Jiwon-shi. I didn’t see you there,”he said, feeling the flush pull on his cheeks.
jiwon chuckled, though it was far from meanly. ultimately, he found hyunsoo amusing (and, of course, attractive). the trainee was eager in a multitude of ways -- eager to please jiwon, eager to debut, eager to impress his trainers and seniors. it was endearing. he remembered, briefly, how he’d been as a trainee: just as eager to please, but probably a little more terrified of all the attention and competition. “no need to apologize, hyunsoo-ah.” he tilted his head to the side, leaning in so he was a little closer. he wanted to see the exact moment hyunsoo’s cheeks flushed a pale shade of pink. “can i call you soo?”
