what if theo is just. A Child.
like there's a really good chance he's not even the donor baby. i know the synopsis says that he revisits something from his past but that doesn't mean donor baby.
my pitch (or should i say hope) is that the thing from his past is his own childhood.
theo is seen at a single (1) emergency, but i wouldn't be surprised if he's at more. when they were filming on the bridge with the boat, a kid was there, and they were also filming at a play centre kind of thing for an emergency - which looked like it was for kids. he could be at all of these emergencies which the 118 - buck - respond to.
considering buck put himself in danger a lot to seek love and belonging as a kid, it'd make perfect sense for him to see this kid doing the same and relate.
it's also, narratively, a more compelling story to tell and is a lot simpler to tell than bringing the donor baby back. the main reason being is that theo could be a random new foster kid, which is why diedra gets involved, and that's how it's easy for buck to get custody / a fostering licence - he doesn't have any history with the kid and you don't have to deal with the messy legal stuff. if it was the donor baby, it'd be super hard to make it simple and easily digestable for a general audience. yes, it'd be an interesting call back if it was donor baby, but it'd be a logistical nightmare.
like, where are the parents? why do they not have custody? why is buck involved in their life again, after signing away all rights? do the parents not have a next of kin for the kid to go to?
also, the literal only 'proof' it's the donor baby is that, the child is a boy, and corinne followed the actress for kameron. why would may interact with kameron.
also! tim minear was talking about easter eggs and, if we recall 9x12, buck did talk about his childhood with his father - the show acknowledged that buck has childhood trauma, which they haven't done in a hot minute.
anyways that's it, watch me eat my words when the episodes come out
