PRIDE is timeless
it would mean a lot to me if y'all would stop by my shop and pick something out ♡♡♡♡♡
part of being an ally to trans men is not being a dick to cis men for their appearance btw
the short trans men hear you. the trans men with bottom growth—or who are post-phalloplasty—hear your bad jokes about small dicks. the trans men undergoing hrt who are losing their hair hear you talk shit about bald spots.
also, hot take, you should care about not hurting random cis men in addition to not hurting trans men. like just because some guy is being an asshole online doesn’t mean the thousands of young boys reading your comments about someone with their same acne deserved it. i don’t care what your reason is, even if you think someone is bad enough to warrant being bullied, who gave you permission to hurt the innocent bystander?
hey y’all should spread this version bc some people need to hear this context
Oh Lancelot, loved by the king, loved by the queen

Happy Hanukkah, everyone, from these two jerks! I’m posting this a little early this year. Line art by the amazing Ro Stein & Ted Brandt, and colour art by @deecunniffe.
I want to point out what a technical achievement this story is on the art side. There’s a real joy to creating a whole story in eight panels, but this? This is some magic. We introduce four new characters. In panel 5, SIX PEOPLE are talking. SIX. In the world of comics, that’s almost un-doable.
Yet Ro and Ted arranged everything so the conversations flow and are sensibly grouped, all the “acting” is fantastic, and then Dee laid on top these beautiful, almost fairytale colours – look at the subtle work, the blush in Henry’s cheeks, Frank’s five o-clock shadow, the shine of the wine bottle’s glass surface, the light texturing in the backgrounds… and of course the snow! This is some first-class illustration work on an incredibly hard script. (I fear Ro and Ted always get me at my worst – my very formalist script for them in the 24 Panels anthology was no cakewalk either. (The problem is, they’re just so damn good at it… check out their work on the Image comic Crowded!)
As always, if you like what we do in Hells Kitchen Movie Club, consider donating a little to a veteran’s charity.
(I also have a thriller novel I’m crowdfunding, please check it out, we are more than halfway there. The book is all written…)

I AM CRYING THIS IS GORGEOUS
MAKE THIS CANON, MARVEL, YOU COWARDS.
I love this whole series they did but this one especially.
I need you.
I don’t really like talking about the years I didn’t make art.
It wasn’t just the pandemic. Well… it was the pandemic… but it was so much more than that.
I don’t like talking about it, not because I am ashamed of those years, but because we all had difficult things we went through. I don’t want to focus on the hardships. I don’t want to give them any more attention or power.
But my hardships were very real, and they started long before the global pandemic. I look back on those early years when I had no money and was struggling so much, and I honestly don’t know how we paid our bills. Grace. That’s all I come back to time and again.
My kids and I had nothing, and we were carried through great difficulties by the kindness of others.
It was terrifying.
Maybe that’s why it is a little terrifying, returning to making a living from my art again.
The wild thing is: when I look back on the early years of my art business, it’s not the hardships that stick with me. It’s a little difficult to explain, exactly, but I think what I feel is something akin to faith.
It felt like I was doing exactly what I needed to be doing, and–during a time in my life when it was hard to believe in anything at all–I was carried through.
It made me believe in something new, something mysterious, something somewhat unnameable.
And when I started making art again, it was not because I had no other choice for how to support my kids, but because I realized: I really couldn’t see myself believing in any path as much as I believe in this one.
I have so many dreams about goals for this year…
I want to give you new Affectionate Animal couples for Valentines Day.
I want to have a shop in every state in the US that sells my work.
I want to do the difficult work of finding shops in highly conservative areas where my queer little light can shine the brightest.
I want to finish my Calico Jill story.
I want to keep painting new art.
I need your support to make these dreams a possibility.
Please support my shop this holiday season. There are many ways you can do this:
Use my queer holiday cards for your holiday greetings
Buy something for yourself
If someone asks you what you want for the holidays, point them to my work
Buy something for others
Email 3 people you care about, share my art with them and tell them why you think they would like it
Share a picture in your online communities and talk about why you want to support my work
Leave a review on the art in my shop
Please walk this path with me into our unknowable future, and let’s make it a place that is a little more connected and affectionate for us all.

CW: antisemitism, pale of settlement, pogroms, genocide, cultural erasure
I don't think goyim can really conceive of how much Jews actually hold back in our criticism of antisemitism in media, and when you hear us it is often because we see a dangerous message that you don't... Yet.
I have a complicated relationship with Tim Burton's rendition of The Corpse Bride. I love it as a beautiful piece of stop motion art, but it isn't what it should have been, he took a Jewish story from the Pale and with intention stripped it of its Jewish origins. This alone is incredibly antisemitic. The criticism you will hear has probably been "this is a Jewish story, it should have retained its Jewish elements" but have you heard why we feel strongly about this story?
The story of the corpse bride is incredibly important to me and was born from Jewish trauma and Christian violence. Mobs would routinely attack Jewish weddings, they would murder brides and they would bury them in unmarked graves by the roadside still in their wedding clothes, they reasoned that without Jewish wives there are no Jewish mother's. Jews are intrinsic to the story.
It is antisemitism to take our story, about our pain, at the hands of non-jews and strip it for "useful" parts, in fact it is heartbreaking every time.
We are often forced to pick our battles and fighting a battle over a movie that has already been released by a director with a cult following is not worth it, you only hear us speak up in numbers when the antisemitism may lead to another century of violence, because raising our voice means picking a fight, because so many of you already see our pain as inconvenient and it is exhausting to never be heard.

hi I know the world is on fire all the time but there is a protest going on right now that is going to need a lot of support. There is currently a open pit lithium mine planned in an area called Thacker Pass in Northern Nevada that would destroy the ecosystem there. Lithium America has been given the green light to construct a mine on land that doesn’t belong to them, given by people who also don’t own that land. It’s traditional Paiute and Shoshone land and they will destroy their cultural heritage. The process to get the permits to build was sped up because of a Trump policy, and Biden won’t stop it because it’s lithium for electric cars so people can feel like they’re saving the environment.
People don’t realize how much diversity and life there is in the desert. Nuclear testing and dumping and destructive mines are fine to put in the desert because “there’s nothing there”. That’s not true and has never been true. I really cannot explain its beauty and how much I love desert animals and plants. Just know that it’s not nothing. There’s something here. And it needs to be protected.
On top of the harm that this project brings to the land and the theft from Native people, projects like these increase the amount of missing and murdered Indigenous women. There’s an influx of hundreds of outside workers, pretty much all men, living in camps that have been linked to a rise in violence against women globally. Stopping the mine is imperative to the safety of these women and children.
There is a camp/blockade right now to protect Thacker pass. They need supplies and support and to get the word out there.
I can’t explain it as well as articles and resources on the actual website :
https://www.protectthackerpass.org/
Protect Thacker Pass from the largest hard rock lithium mine in the world which will destroy the landscape and ecosystem along with all wild

Chapter 1 Part 7
I wanted to be an explorer
I wanted to be an explorer, to dust off forgotten stories and lost lands. I wanted to remind everyone of the past, the beauty, the bloom, I wanted to dust off a skeleton and say “here lies God, he died peacefully.” I wanted to remember when Apollo and Hyacinth lived happily ever after, When the Romans spared Jesus, When Columbus looked on Turtle Island and said “We went the wrong way, let’s go home.” I wanted to unearth brain scans of the entire human race, “See? You’re just old, look at the rainforests, they’re still here.”
But I dusted off the bones, they belonged to a murderer. I walked through Greece and found the blood of Hyacinth in a flower field, I met Jesus strung up on a cross with a crown of thorns, I lived on Turtle Island and I said that it was America, And I unearthed the brain scans of the entire human race, I said: We forgot, it’s so much worse, what happened to the elephants? I wanted to be an explorer, to show the beauty under the sand, But I found an ancient vase, shattered.
We broke it.
