A NEVER ENDING STORY & THE RUSSIAN CODE
Ok so I highkey think i might of figured out the Russian Code from Season 3.
When blue meets yellow in the west.
(I will talk about a trip to China sounds nice, If you tread lightly in another post, I think it’s referring to something else!)
Super quickly because this is the smallest analysis. Chrissy dies on the 21st, the gates are opened on the 27th.
21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27
7 days, the week is long, cool ok. The next parts are the important ones.
The Russian code has been translated to ‘the silver cat feeds’. Well, I don’t think that this means what we think it does, I think that ‘feeds’ means feeds as in feeding something else.
AKA the ‘silver cat’ is not feeding on something for itself, it’s feeding Hawkins, feeding Hawkins with the particles. Hear me outttt.
Starting with this whole scene, it has some insane foreshadowing.
—> ‘I call it a weeder, get it man? Like a feeder?’ Argyle says. And what do they smoke? Purple Palm Tree Delight!!! We’ve established atp that Purple and Palm Trees = being deceived or lying. (e.g. purple rain, purple prismatic spray, the palm tree directly behind Tina, the twin palm trees on Maxs purple outfit, Tammy’s name meaning palm etc, you get it)
—> Now if you go back and watch this scene, guess what EVERYBODY in the classroom is building? Houses, Jonathan is even building one above. They’re building a town, a town to feed Purple Palm Treey Delight to, the Particles.
—> Additionally, a feeder is what you would use to feed farm animals, or cattle. It’s what you would use to feed SHEEP (I’ll talk about this later)
—> This scene gets even fucking crazier, above, standing right next to Argyle and Jonathan is basically a Mike Wheeler knockoff istg, and the sign he’s sitting RIGHT BENEATH goes like this ⬇️
‘If you don’t have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it OVER’
—> it’s not even just that, right next to this sign is literally a Trojan Horse, ‘wait for the horse’
—> theres also a sign on the yellow cabinet with a big ‘COMPLY’, Camazotz, the land of forced conformity. (The ‘glasses are required in this area’ is also interesting to me because of the significance glasses has in A Wrinkle in Time)
—> I could actually go on about this scene for ages but I’m gonna move on for now I hope you get my point 😭
WHEN BLUE MEETS YELLOW IN THE WEST
Remember the very first thing drawn in season 4? It’s a sun, one Brenner draws after it shows him getting ready in the morning. (side note, the foreshadowing in that scene is INSANEEEE.)
When blue meets yellow in the west, the WEST. When blue (the sky) and yellow (the sun) meet in the WEST PEOPLEEE THE WEST‼️‼️ What happens in the west?. The sun sets. THAT ISNT GOOD BRO? (extra note rq, im also thinking of @ode_to_icarus’s Will Byers Sungod/Pelor theory!)
Let’s go over some things referenced in Stranger Things real quick ⬇️
—> Meg defeats IT, a giant, evil, disembodied brain forcing conformity on everybody with the power of love.
—> Rainbow Brite (also even beneath the Wrinkle in Time book in this shot!) Rainbow Brite was the story of a ‘wisp’ who went to a dark and colourless planet under the control of the King of Shadows. Wisp wins by literally using the power of rainbows light and love.
—> In a Neverending Story there is a darkness called 'The Nothing' that destroys everything it touches.
AND THEN OFC THERES THE SONG, the lyrics say that the answer to a ‘never ending story’ is what follows ⬇️
1. ‘Rhymes that keep their secrets, will unfold behind the clouds, and there upon a RAINBOW’ rainbow pretty self explanatory 💀, but also ‘clouds’ I MISS THE CLOUDS I MISS YOU.
2. ‘Hidden in the lines, written on the pages’ THATS LETTERGATE BRORROOR LETTER GATE
—> Specifically when it was talked about in the scene with Erica and Dustin. They talk about a Rainbow of Darkness that the antagonist wanted to use to bring ETERNAL NIGHT, and how the ponies defeated this with a Rainbow of Light. @cara-ti-amo also pointed out how the thing they use for this is literally a heart, ‘you’re the heart’
—> and also, after they say this, the fan stops spinning!!! Tharizdun loses.
—> Ok so, clearly they’ve been foreshadowing something to do with light and love being the end to Stranger Things, and like I said before the blue and yellow meeting in the west would mean that the sun is setting, that light is lost, that THEY LOST‼️‼️
—> Even take a look above at the last shots of Season 4, the smoke coming out and completely shielding the sun. Heck, they practically got the entire town of Hawkins together for the shot below of the PARTICLES raining over them, (they literally look like CATTLE) the same particles they talk about all the godamn time in S5.
—> these shots above are literally showing it to us, the particles falling over a town where sunlight/light (aka-> hope, good, love etc) is being completely shielded by evil (darkness, shadows). The silver cat feeding them.
AND WHEN DOES THIS HAPPEN?
This is something I noticed, i didn’t think to much about it AT FIRST but I do now.
—> when the clock hands ‘meet in the west’ the angle is 270°, this is where 9 o’clock would be.
—> the episode where all this happens, the particles, Vecna telling El ‘you and your friends have already lost’ and where Vecna succeeds in putting the X on Hawkins, is episode 9 of S4. And the specific day that Vecna breaks into Hawkins is the 27th of March.
—> and according to Jonathan’s watch, it’s 9pm
—> Vecna breaks into Hawkins on the 27th at 9pm.
—> basically, Vecna wins with his big X on Hawkins on the 27th, at 9pm. The Silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the west, 270°, 9 = 27th 9pm when the sun is gone, they can begin being fed the Particles, the Purple Palm Tree Delight, like with Argyles Weeder/Feeder.
FORESHADOWING, LOVERS LAKE & bylering out rq 🤫
—> Another thing I’ve noticed is the only character we get a solid time of death is, is Patrick (I talk about how suspicious his death is here) Thanks to Eddie’s watch, we know that he dies at EXACTLY 9:27pm.
—> Which, if you remember, was the exact same same time, in the Creel House when Dustin, Robin, Steve, Lucas, Max and Nancy were standing in a circle holding their flashlights up, which they all exploded, they literally lost all light when Patrick died at LOVERS LAKE at 9:27PM.
(I’m about to byler out so hard rn be prepared)
—> So, in the photo above where I showed Jonathan’s watch proves that the X gates over Hawkins opens at 9pm on the 27th, but in that exact photo, where they show it the clearest, is when Mike is about to start his monologue to El.
What happens between Blue (Mike) and Yellow (Will) in the West (27th, 9pm) lets the Silver Cat feed, makes them lose.
Remember what I said before? About Patrick’s death?
—> At 9:27PM Patrick McKinney dies at LOVERS LAKE, the same time all the lights shatter and everything goes dark, they lose light.
—> At 9pm on the 27th, Wills heart breaks, El knows Mike was lying to her, Mike knows he was lying, Mike and Will likely lost hope of ever being together, Will heard Mike say when he was missing was the ‘best day’ of Mikes life, ITS SO MESSY 😭. So, at this time, there was a death of love ):, they lost light, they lost.
(extra note, Patrick’s initials are PM, if you flip and switch these it’s WB, Will Byers 💔)
BUT FEAR NOT OK BECAUSE THIS CAN BE FIXED‼️‼️
Light = Love Darkness = Hate
The last time we see the Cali Crew before the lights exploding scene and Patrick’s Death at Lovers Lake, at 9:27PM is the one where they pull out a map and start talking about finding Suzie at Salt Lake City.
—> The thing I’m focusing on here is when Will sings ‘turn arounddddd look at what you seeeee’ from the Never Ending Story (Then Argyle says that that story scared him when he was younger, and that the Nothing is some proper existential shit, being queer would of been scary when you were younger, The Nothing (internalised homophobia) would DEFINETLY be some 'existential shit')
We know that turning around = 180°
—> So now, they’ve lost, and if they lose when the sun sets in the West at 270°, and darkness wins over light, and there’s been SO MUCH foreshadowing of love being the only way they can win…
West = 270° = where the sun sets and light is lost = where darkness wins, AKA THE 27th X ON HAWKINS
—> Then to win, Michael Wheeler has admit he’s in love with Will, to turn around (180°) and look at what he sees and 180° from 270°, is East, where the SUN RISES! :)
He has to do it over, and pick the RIGHT RECORD this time, east. CAN LOVE DEFEAT FEAR??? YESSSSSS
