Ahoy-hoy. I'm Jaida.

I am a self-proclaimed queer witchy christian. How does that work? It’ll sound complicated... but firstly, I am a Henotheist. Second of all, I see nature as a mere extension of the work of God, allowing us to worship through the elements he has given us to be steward over. A spell is merely prayer of supplication for others over elements.

I am also a libertarian socialist - somewhere between Council and Ancom. The government and the market are both oppressive forces and cannot be trusted to humans.

Specifically, I’m a panromantic eriscarnal aegosexual androgyne who fancies faerself with big skirts, cute stuff, faeries, and knights. I’m also a bit of a stan for the real Elizabeth Bathory, not the myth of the evil vampiress. I get passionate about how trans people are treated in my state.

And yes, I use fae/faer pronouns.

I like reblogging pastoral photographs that have a sense of... Faewild to it. Like the kind of place where you might bump into a faerie, give them your name and gender and they will give you the ones you’ve always desired.

I also like reblogging wisdom of other witches, and if anyone posts some wise theology stuff, maybe that too.

And coffee. A cup of coffee sounds really nice right now, especially with KNKX’s jazz24 or SiriusXM Watercolors in the background.

I believe I have had a system collapse earlier this month. Didn't know Median Systems could ever handle such, but it happened. I honestly don't know what could have triggered such.

It just... happened. Silence. Discomforting quietness. The senses of self identity just... gone. And the looming feeling that I have to handle everything. And the haunting feeling that I have to start at square one to redefine myself, because I don't even think I was a part of that core group that isn't here.

I guess I'm looking for advice on how to continue on. How do I... start? Besides masking under several layers of masking.

I've been trying to form a mental image of myself for most of this month and every time I try, I feel I fall short. It's like... even that creative part of me is gone.

I just... miss everyone.

Aura’s striking beauty became nearly as legendary as her martial prowess, and tales of her many lovers spread through courts, taverns, and military camps alike. Bards particularly enjoyed recounting how knights challenged dragons for her favor, only to discover surviving a night with Aura was the greater trial. Despite the gossip, admirers rarely find her easy to know. She remains distant and sharp-tongued, forever wary of losing control of the celestial wrath within her. She carries herself like a weapon pointed at the darkness. The long crimson cape trailing behind her is said to represent the blood price of mercy, because wherever Aura rides, evil burns, but so too does everything standing too close to the flame.

trans book lovers + accomplices! go support The Booksmith, an indie bookstore in san francisco, that recently decided to stop stocking jk rowling's books in solidarity with trans people. their statement (beneath which, at the link, is a list of alternative wizard books) is as follows:

In May of 2025, author JK Rowling publicly committed to using her private wealth from the Harry Potter series to develop the "JK Rowling Women's Fund," an organization dedicated to removing transgender rights "in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces." With this announcement, we've decided to stop carrying her books. We don't know exactly what her her "women's fund" will entail, but we know that we aren't going to be a part of it. As a group of queer booksellers, we also had our adolescence shaped by wizards and elves. Look at us, it's obvious. If you or someone you love wants to dive into the world of Harry Potter, we suggest doing so by buying used copies of these books. Or, even better, please find below a list of bookseller-curated suggestions for books we genuinely love that also might fit the HP brief for you and yours. Many are series; some are standalone. Also to be clear if you put the new Harry Potter show on my dashboard I will be unfollowing and probably blocking you. JK Rowling is responsible for the death and pain of too many trans people to count in my country and I cannot tolerate her new way of trying to gain cultural and financial power in any way shape or form.

I don't even want to see critiques of it. I don't want to see hatewatch reviews about how bad or dumb or racist or transphobic parts of it are like people did for the fantastic beasts movies of the hogwarts video game. You are part of the problem. Do not feed the machine. Let it die. You do not need to consume media you don't like just to show off to everyone else how much you don't like it. It's especially heinous if you say something like "I'm donating the cost of a movie ticket or a month's streaming subscription to a trans charity," because that doesn't balance the scales, it doesn't negate the evil, it just shows you are willing to support both sides, making you a spineless coward.

Just fucking ignore it and understand that it's going to be recationary on purpose. It's going to be full of bait. Warner Bros is counting on there being a ton of controversy to boost the numbers because there's no such thing as bad publicity.

DO NOT ENGAGE. Let it come and go, and maybe the numbers will be bad enough that it gets canceled before it gets to book 7. Probably not, though. This is a tentpole for WB, they're putting all their eggs in this basket, it's not gonna bomb like Morbius. They're gonna push it through to the end no matter what, so just do your part by not playing along.

i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is “international” pride month just because something happened in the united states.

in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. martha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that “you owe your rights to Black trans women” is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.

But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.

our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1989. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.

anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.
