Aura Vaelor was born beneath a comet that split the night sky in two, an omen the priests declared both holy and terrible. From childhood, the celestial fire within her marked her as a force for justice. When angered or afraid, radiant light bled from her skin, scorching stone and flesh alike. Villagers praised her as a divine blessing while quietly fearing what she might become.
Determined to master the destructive power burning in her soul, Aura devoted herself to the Order of the Gilded Sun, an elite brotherhood of knight-judicators sworn to hunt fiends, undead, and oathbreakers. Years of brutal discipline hardened her into a relentless warrior. Her gold-and-bronze armor and deathly white hair became symbols across the frontier: salvation to the innocent, judgment to the wicked.
Aura’s striking beauty became nearly as legendary as her martial prowess, and tales of her many lovers spread through courts, taverns, and military camps alike. Bards particularly enjoyed recounting how knights challenged dragons for her favor, only to discover surviving a night with Aura was the greater trial. Despite the gossip, admirers rarely find her easy to know. She remains distant and sharp-tongued, forever wary of losing control of the celestial wrath within her. She carries herself like a weapon pointed at the darkness. The long crimson cape trailing behind her is said to represent the blood price of mercy, because wherever Aura rides, evil burns, but so too does everything standing too close to the flame.
