And here they areâŚthe themes for the first Sailor Moon Rare Pair Week! Youâll have until the week of March 27th to finish your fanworks (and donât worry if youâre a little late), so I hope yâall have fun and create a lot of content!
As I mentioned before, for the purpose of this event, EVERY pairing that is NOT Usagi/Mamoru (or any of their incarnations, like Serenity/Endymion) counts as a rare pair, including crossovers. Almost anything goes, as long as you follow some simple guidelines.
- Fanworks should somehow incorporate one of the dayâs themes. (You can pick just one; you donât have to use both.) How you choose to interpret the theme is entirely up to you! (And please donât feel pressure to do something for each day. This is supposed to be fun, so just do as many days as you want, whether thatâs only one or all seven!)
- A non-UsaMamo pair must be the focus of the work (although Usagi/Mamoru can appear as a side pairing or as part of a polycule).
- No smut involving underage characters, which Iâm defining as under 18 years old. Otherwise, as long as the characters are portrayed as adults in the fanwork, go wild! Just please make sure to properly tag.
- Pairings of all sexual/romantic orientations welcome, including polyships.
- Fanfics should be a minimum of 500 words. Poetry may be shorter, though.
- Fanart should be a completed drawing.
- Graphics, image boards, playlists, cosplay photos, crafts, meta/essays, etc. are also welcome!
- Comments, kudos, and reblogs are encouraged, but donât be a jerk. If youâre not a fan of a pairing, please just ignore and move on.
On Tumblr, if you tag #smrarepairweek2022 or @ this account, I will reblog your post. If youâre writing fanfic, I would prefer you post your fics on AO3 or Fanfiction.net and provide a link to your story, but if you must post on Tumblr itself, please make use of the âRead Moreâ option to save people from endless scrolling. Any fanart portraying nudity or anything of an R/NC-17 nature should be cropped if immediately visible on your post. You can post the full image under a âRead Moreâ (if you think itâll get past the censors) or provide a link to the image on another site. Iâll tag explicit art and fics as NSFW, if you would like to block that tag and not see those posts.
I have also created a collection for the event on AO3, but Iâll wait to link that until itâs closer to the event. Please donât post your fanworks anywhere until the event starts!
