Speaking of the luck of the non-disabled…I once terrorized a Karen who was using me to teach her entitled kid that disabled people are Other and should not be treated with respect. I told her (truthfully) that until I was twenty-eight, I wasn’t visibly disabled. Then a defective chromosome that I hadn’t known about kicked in. So my luck ran out. But until then, I had been normal–just…like…her.

The sheer terror on her face as the concept of “You mean I’ve just been lucky so far?” seeped into her brain was a thing of beauty.

RWBY Hot Take?

I'm going to say this, and hope nobody blows up at me for it.

I liked V4 and onward on RWBY as a whole moreso than the first three volumes. One of the reasons is everyone's storylines being separated at first, but coming together in V5.

So, yes. I liked Yang's storyline as it started in V4 and has only been expanded on later on, with Tai having to help her back on her feet. I liked Blake having to face the fact that it wasn't her fault Adam attacked Beacon and doing SOMETHING is better than trying to run. I liked Weiss' gaining freedom from her father.

I like how Renora didn't become a couple right away. I actually liked that team RNJR got to rest in V5. I loved Ilia letting go of her extremism. I loved just...everything about V6, 7, 8, and 9.

I think RWBY has gotten better and better as it goes along. The first three volumes are great set up, have good humor, and start things along but if things went too far with it...well. I love My Hero Academia, Little Witch Academia, and other stuff involving schools of heroes and magic but that woulda been boring.

And just to say this: I have my own problems with RWBY. But they're minor at best. Most of them dissolved after V3, and each successive volume seems to make things better. I may not get deep in the meta, but I have thoughts.

So I posted these two images that I made in a post together just shy of a year ago, and the post got 10,000+ notes. Today I saw a meme with a text convo of someone sending one of them to a military recruiter (which is extremely funny) and I thought “oh I should find that post again”

but when I went to find it, it had completely vanished. not just the original post, but even reblogs of it. I couldn’t even find screenshots anyone had taken of the original post. it wasn’t brought to my attention as a reported post, tumblr never even contacted me about deleting it, it just… disappeared

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
