DATA SANDWICH - After Hours (Implied Suggestive!Showtime)
Original post!
Bubble... you can't say that. That's not family-friendly at all!
Anyways I believe Bubble is Caine's "thought bubble" that lets out the unfiltered thoughts of Caine subconsciously, whilst simultaneously having it's own personality. He's just an outlet for these thoughts so that Caine can't be caught in 4k.
Headcanon: Caine can "sense" data, specifically if it's one conjured/manifested by humans. By "consuming" or just being around the humans' output, he's able to "taste", "hear", "touch", and even "smell" it.
Whatever it is that the humans conjure up, Caine CAN eat; whether it is realistically inedible or edible-- because both are the same to him, being made up of "Macroverse data".
He might be able to peer into others' minds and see what these outputs are, but it's the equivalent of seeing a mouthwatering burger on paper; there's no texture, no smell, no taste. It's all a flat, 2d image.
Only IF a human conjures it because they know how it should feel/taste/smell like, is Caine able to truly comprehend it; and soon, he might even be able to mimic it.
Besides that, Caine has been fed nothing but negative data over the years, and because of that; he's able to sense the data Pomni conjured up from a mile away, since he's been "starved" the past 2 decades and can't really contain himself. His mouth also can't stop drooling once he senses there's a human-input data in the circus.
Anyways, I sacrificed my hand for this I will be taking my leave now

⚙️⚠️ Now, as always; please read the chapter warnings before proceeding! ⚠️⚙️
Apologies for taking so long to update the official fic with the chapter 3! I had to cut in half again, there was meant to be a second void segment amongst other things, but I think it'd be beneficial for the fic's pacing if I end it off on where I did.
Dance Rush x Souls-like: Dance to the Lost Charts!
Small note: In this AU, Glitch is a in-universe game studio who made the DLC in collaboration with C&A Games Ent. Hence, why the logo appears. The Dance Rush AU is also owned by @nobody-nexus please follow them thank you
Jesus it's almost been two years since this crossover was planned- ANYWAYS
The Dance Rush x Souls-Like crossover is finally here! After trials and tribulations, I'm happy to announce that it's finally ready! The story is as goes:
Set in the timeline of post-canon Souls-like, the DLC takes the event to a whole another level; in which, inspired by canon Souls-like's events, Players enter the realm to the Digital Dreamscape where they must face down with the ENTIRE Dance Rush team, in order to free them from the Curse of the Lost Charts. (Don't worry, the idols this time are just NPCs! ...I hope.)
Bubble informs the players that the idols have found LEGENDARY dance moves that would've blown the audience away and made them worship the idols when executed, but unbeknownst to them, performing the dance moves incorrectly, even as a practice, instills a mind-altering curse that turned the idols into Beasts of the Rhythm; a curse that flips the Idol into the complete opposite versions of themselves.
And worse; The Patriarch of Beats --an ancient being told to have betrayed his fellow counselors to have the charts all to himself centuries ago-- had awoken upon hearing the return of the charts!
And that it's up to the player to save them, and the world, from corruption! With each idol set free by beating them in their own game and in their gratitude of the help, the players also accumulate the torn pages of the moves, which slowly begins to emanate actual music.
It should also be noted that if enough damage is sustained, the Idols' concert ends prematurely. But otherwise, attacking is optional and the primary objective is to survive the onslaught.
There is also a ranking system based on how well the player performed during each battle, that being:
SS rank for "SuperrrrrrrrrStar!" for ending the concert early during a song's "transition phase" without getting hit (timing is crucial)
S rank for "Satisfaction!" for no hit/pacifist run
A for "Approved!"
B for "Better!"
C for "Could be worse!"
D for "Do better next time..."
E for "Eh..." (lowest possible score without game over)
F for "Failed..." (game over)
Defeating The Lady of Forgotten Melodies unlocks the first piece and adds DR!Ragatha to your summons.
Ragatha is the DLC's tutorial stage that enables the players to get used to the mechanics of the game, and as such, does not have any special gimmicks outside of introducing the player to Dancers being stage props that inflict damage upon contact.
Defeating The Skirmish Conductor unlocks the second piece and adds DR!Kinger to your summons.
Kinger is the second stage of the DLC, being the first to introduce flickering lights as his main gimmick. The flickering lights act as a deterrent, in order to make players falter a dodge against an attack; making it essential to memorize his stage's layout.
Defeating The Mischievous Prancer Automaton unlocks the third piece and adds DR!Jax to your summons.
Jax serves as the third antagonist of the DLC, introducing the player to his gimmick of Consecutive Rhythmic Combos, in where he is invincible while doing so; and therefore, has to be avoided at all costs. His stage is chaotic, being filled with raining confetti to make it harder to see projectiles from his backup dancers, and his song's soundwaves.
Defeating The Maddened Princess of the Opera unlocks the fourth piece and adds DR!Gangle to your summons.
Gangle acts as the fourth antagonist of the DLC, in where she adds a spin to the Dancer/lights gimmick: She fills the stage with her performers and controls them with her ribbons, enclosing the player in a tight space where they have to escape in order to prevent getting damaged. The stage is also darker with spotlights moving around and about.
Defeating The Mechanical Jester of the Stage unlocks the fifth piece, adding DR!Pomni to your summons.
Pomni is the fifth antagonist of the DLC, having a unique gimmick in where the audience will become a part of stage hazards by throwing glowsticks. Besides that, doors will spawn, and it will either give out either of the hazards: Punching glove, stage flood, gator ambush, or Dr. Football. An exit door will spawn sometimes, and give players a way to safely approach Pomni, though it is rare.
Defeating The Last, (Un)Formidable Rockstar unlocks the sixth piece, adding DR!Zooble to your summons.
(Ba)zooble is the sixth antagonist of the DLC, in where the 'chaotic stage' gimmick is given a new breath: besides the stage having Zooble's limbs as falling hazards, Doppelgangers made out of said limbs will slowly make their way to the player, and pose as a stage hazard like a honing missile that follows the player around. Each Doppelganger have their unique attack method, ranging from mild (pie to the face) to lethal (a giant hammer).
Defeating The Mad Performer unlocks the seventh and final piece of the Legendary Dance Chart, adding DR!Caine to your summons.
Caine is the seventh antagonist of the DLC, in where he has a completely different mechanic; Eyes will spawn, and the player has to destroy it entirely in order to coerce Caine to drop down from his platform and be susceptible to attacks. The player has a limited time slot to do so while avoiding dancers, or else the eyes will activate and start shooting beams at the player. His stage also is the first stage to introduce drastic structure changes in where the stage transforms entirely.
Once all pieces have been collected, a penultimate boss battle begins between you and The Patriarch of Beats, in his special stage, The Arena of Rhythm!
The Patriarch of Beat's stage combines all of the gimmicks of the previous corrupted idols into three different stages, and it will be randomized each time.
... Where he reveals that he's not actually the bad guy! This was all just a big misunderstanding, he's trying to protect the charts from being used since it's too powerful! And that he ripped the pages, in order to prevent exactly this whole fiasco from happening!
Turns out, this was all part of Bubble's plans for World Domination: He wanted the idols to perform the charts incorrectly, so that he could rule the music industry behind closed doors!
But now that you've discovered his secret, Bubble is now attempting to perform the charts all by extracting the EVIL Idols from the originals! With the help of the reformed Idols, you must put a stop to the spherical assistant's schemes before the world plummets into Industry planted music and soulless art!
Once the power hungry Music Producer is defeated and Bubble is left to drown in the abstraction goo, the Patriarch of Beats is once again, able to hide the sheet music, as it was never meant to be wielded by mere mortals. Turns out, the REAL music was within YOU and the idols all along, and you all didn't need a super powerful cheat sheet in order to provide good music, because all good music needs is SOUL poured into it.
The End!
(This DLC has been rated 7.5 for it's groove-inducing gameplay (the score being brought down due to how much it departs from the base game mechanics), 5 on the storyline due to unoriginal themes and predictable story beats, 8.5 in visual graphics, sound design and music choices, resulting in an astounding 7/10 score overall.
Reviews are mostly positive at least, but Caine was lowkey pissed at the backhanded comments given by critics and had to be PR trained by Penny and Abel during interviews.)
